Thanks for your timely response. What do you actually mean by positioning?
Positioning simply means being at a place where you would like receive a request. Some drivers still don't understand that requests are high in some areas and low in some areas. e.g Ajah axis in the morning around 6:30am for riders going to Ikoyi and Marina in the evenings for riders going to Lekki axis. |

Corolla is one of the best cars for this business combined with positioning should make the business very profitable.
As a jjc in Lagos, just tell your riders you don't know that way and learn fast.
If you work 60 hours a week, you should be able to take home 50k after fueling and maintenance money. |

The Ikeja bus terminal go make sense after them open am. Uber drivers would be able to chill there and receive requests from the airport without paying for airport parking. #eko o ni baje |

Can't wait for Uber to delete the rating app and an e-hailing company that only connects passenger to drivers and they both negotiate the fares before they start the trip and the company gets a flat fee every month. Most of these riders on uber cannot even afford the yellow and black taxi but would be forming big person that a/c is not working like they gave birth to them with air condition. If they are really pressed on a/c they should go buy their own cars and maintain it not complaining about other people's cars and giving low ratings. They should be thankful they are paying that low for riding in a good car. |

Sorry for what you are going through. What newbies fail to realize that it is almost impossible to deliver 50k a week to an investor, this is just being said to woo investors and when you are neck deep in the deal, you won't be told it is not possible but would be given a lot of stories. Investors need to know that this is also the only source of income for the drivers and the drivers have needs just like the owner of the vehicle, your fleet manager is also hungry and also wants easy money all on the bill of the investor. The drivers put in a lot hours a day but cannot make target because he has to fuel car and after so many hours he has to rest, there is no mercy on the car and the car is never taken care off, usually having shortage of engine oil because car is always on the road. Anyone wanting to invest in this business needs to drive the car for himself for at least a month to find out what is obtainable so tnat you are not being promised a lot of things and eventually get disappointed. kunletoks: I came across Fleet Xpert on this thread late last year and on 2nd of January 2018 I went to their office at Lekki. Ogunvic and I agreed it will cost #1,340,000 for buying and refurbishing. I gave him #1,150,000 and a Spectranet modem to buy a Peugeot 406 for me which I am to balance them #190,000 when the car starts working.
Ogunvic said the car will be ready and start working after 2 weeks(which is 16th of January, 2018). Towards 16th of January he told me he is waiting for the road worthiness before the car starts working. He kept posting me, saying the car will be ready soon.
I called Gazzuzz January ending and explained the issue to him which he called Ogunvic and Romeo3 to resolve the issue.
On 4th of Feb, 2018 I met with Romeo3 he showed me a Peugeot 406 which does not worth beyond #500,000 and he proposed that from the #190,000 balance they will remove #50,000 for every week they have defaulted in providing the car and before 2 to 3 weeks the car will be ready.
It's 20 days since I meet with Romeo3 and they haven't provided the car.
Ogunvic has put off his phone and whenever his phone is ON, he rejects my calls.
All I want now is my money back as part of the money I gave them was from a facility I got which I have started the repayment since January ending. |

ewebiodun: U need the ratings bro. Its more necessary than u think. That's what seperates u from the yellow cab babas and danfo guys. Good setvice deliveryshould be ur focus You need rating sir, you shouldn't also be car less because of rating, it is a balance of both. If a trip is ongoing and I have seen signs that it is going to be a terrible one, I would end the trip. Rainy season is coming, If i get to an area that would damage my car, I would end the trip, I would not because of rating and NGN1,500 put my car at a repair cost of NGN50k. A balance is the key to this business and when trying to strike the balance sometimes it might take a hit on your ratings. |

julietromeo: Why would you need to put off your AC? Either your AC is on or not, it has no effect on your engine. I pity your rating though. This is professional driving let's take it professional. If uber pays better do it, if its taxify switch to it. You are giving your whole life for rating, if your car breaks down or you don't make any money in this business, please take your rating to mechanic or take it to uber to collect money. |

Infact uber is a big cheat, the fares are so so ridiculous, a rider asked me recently after drop-off that how come the trip is so cheap that there must be something wrong with my app, am not on taxify but am getting onboard this week and dumping uber for good, I don tire It is so surprising that guys are realizing so late that Uber is a complete cheat. I don't drive on Taxify yet but I am preparing to dump Uber. What I do to break even on Uber is when rider tells me where they are going, I then decide if I would put my A/C on or not. Some trips are just not worth it with Uber, I give riders all type of excuses for not being able to have air condition on the ride an be as friendly as possible to still be able to get a good rating. |

Schiphol: I am currently using the 2006 model of the Camry. And yes! It's 2.4lts engine too. The first thing you need to do is know the fuel consumption rate of your car. How do you do that? Register on Uber or Taxify and drive it yourself for a month. Ensure you deliver 35k weekly to a savings account you won't touch and go for it after one month test running. After one month, you will be able to know how the business runs, the fuel consumption if it is sustainable, any mechanical in the interim will surface and should be fixed with the safe money. Thereafter, you can look for a good driver who will be able to replicate your one month trial. Many thanks bro. Your explanation really makes sense. Once I register the car since it is a tokunbo , there would be no going back any more. This is the reason why I want to be double sure. |
