LONDON — A day after an attack on an off-duty British soldier by two knife-wielding assailants, Prime Minister David Cameron said on Thursday Britain would be “absolutely resolute” in confronting terrorism and extremist assaults would “only bring us together.” The British leader was speaking after chairing the emergency Cobra committee, a group of cabinet ministers and high-level security officials that oversees the operations of police and security agencies during high security alerts. The attack raised new fears of terrorism when the soldier, walking near a military barracks in south London, was rammed by a car and then hacked to death. One of the men shouted “Allahu akbar,” or “God is great,” during the attack, government officials said. Police officers shot and wounded both suspected assailants. One of the apparent suspects is seen in an image from a video of the attack. THE SUN, AGENCE FRANCE- PRESSE — GETTY IMAGES The British police said on Thursday that the victim, whose body was left in a road as one of his attackers gave an impromtpu interview to a passer-by, was a soldier. He was not identified by name. Police in Lincolnshire, 150 miles north of London, also said that a house had been searched in the town of Saxilby. After the attack, the wounded suspects were taken to separate hospitals under police guard, one in serious condition. “The people who did this were trying to divide us,” Mr. Cameron told reporters outside his office and official residence at 10 Downing Street. “They should know something like this will only bring us together and make us stronger.” “This country will be absolutely resolute in its stand against violent extremism and terror. We will never give in to terror or terrorism in any of its forms,” he said. WATCH VIDEO London Attack Suspect “This view is shared by every community in our country. This was not just an attack on Britain and on the British way of life; it was also a betrayal of Islam and of the Muslim communities who give so much to our country. “There is nothing in Islam that justifies this truly dreadful act,” he said, urging Britons to respond to the attack by going about their normal lives. A statement on Thursday from the Defense Ministry said “a number of additional security measures have been put in place” but it did not provide details. Mr. Cameron was traveling in Europe when the attack took place.. “There are strong indications that it is a terrorist incident,” Mr. Cameron said. He interrupted his European tour to return to London on Wednesday night. ITV News showed a video taken with a cellphone at the scene in Woolwich in which a man who appeared to be in his 20s or early 30s holds a cleaver in one of his bloodied hands. He offers what seems to be a political message before the police arrive. “I apologize that women had to see this today but in our lands women have to see the same thing,” he says. “You people will never be safe. Remove your governments! They don’t care about you.” He then refers to what appears to be a motive for the attack, saying it was carried out “because of what’s going on in our own countries.” Mayor Boris Johnson of London rejected the argument, saying it was wrong to link the killing with British foreign policy or the actions of Britain’s military, which has been closely allied with the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq. “The fault lies wholly and exclusively in the warped and deluded mindset of the people who did it,” he said. The BBC reported Wednesday night that British security officials had identified at least one of the two suspects as having family origins in Nigeria. British media reports on Thursday said the men were not apparently linked to the Boko Haram militants in Nigeria, who are believed to have ties to Al Qaeda. Organizations representing Britain’s 2.5 million Muslims were quick to condemn the attack. “No cause justifies this murder,” the Muslim Council of Britain said in a statement on behalf of the network of mosques, schools and charities it represents. It described the killing in Woolwich as “a barbaric act that has no basis in Islam,” and added that the “vast majority of British Muslims acknowledge the armed forces for the work they do.” The assault took place near a busy junction a short walk from the London headquarters of the Royal Artillery, a unit that has deployed soldiers, including tank units, to Iraq and Afghanistan. A primary school is nearby and witnesses said some of those who had seen the attack were parents and children returning home. A small blue car — apparently the vehicle used to ram the victim — appeared to have hit a telephone pole after mounting the sidewalk. Photographs and television footage from the scene showed extensive damage to the car’s hood and windshield. |

D’banj‘s quest for dominance in the Nigerian music scene won’t stop now; he might have lost out on signing Olamide and Davido – but he has nicked another artiste, this time a familiar friend-foe. The self-proclaimed ‘African Michael Jacskon‘, we’ve learnt has signed his friend-turned-foe- turned-friend Oluwadamilare Okulaja better known to the public as Durella. The move might however not come as a surprise to everyone, considering that Banger Lee (that’s D’banj’s new nickname by the way) and the ‘King of the Zanga’ Durella recently settled their differences. Some weeks back, D’banj and his DB Records crew released a single ‘Ibadi e‘ off their compilation album ( D’ King’s Men) which featured a verse from Durella. Fans were very excited to see the pair had reunited after a very long and well publicized fall out between the pop acts. FLASHBACK The beef between Durella and D’banj started in late 2006 when the latter accused Banger Lee of jacking his style of singing. Apparently when D’banj and Don Jazzy returned to Nigeria in 2004, they met up with Durella and soon became friends. Sources tell us that D’banj and Durella were quite close and were spotted together in the studio several times. ‘I remember when Durella followed D’banj, Don Jazzy to Jahborne’s music factory studio when D’banj wanted to record ‘Tongolo’ remix’, a source recounts. Of course D’banj had blown up and had released his second album ‘Rundown’ in 2007 when Durella signed with TC Records and finally launched his career. It didn’t take long for Durella to blow up too with hits like ‘In da Zanga’, ‘Wiskolowiska’ and ‘Shayo’ gaining massive appeal. He also won the MTV and Zain ‘Advance Warning’ reality show in 2008. Then came the interviews; Durella clearly stated that D’banj had stolen his style. The media of course jumped on it, comparing both artistes. Truthfully, they did sound very similar. And it seemed like D’banj was aware as he switched up the flow on the 2008 Nigerian Pop classic album ‘ The Entertainer’. Their fight sort of fizzled out though as Durella later backed off. ‘D’banj is my man, aaah, I like his mo gbono feli feli jam’, Durella told Onome ‘ BigTyme’ Oyaide in an interview on urban radio station Rhythm FM 93.7 in late 2008. BACK TO THE MATTER We are told that D’banj and DB Records bought out Durella’s contract from his present record label IKONIC Music where the Pop act’s career has been in limbo since he signed in mid-2011 after ending his three-year contract with TC Records. His upcoming album ‘ Back/Better/Bada’ has been pushed back one too many times ‘Durella has signed with D’banj, he (D’banj) bought out the contract, that’s what I can tell you’, a source in Durella’s camp tells us. A rep for D’banj refused to respond to enquiries after asking us to send text messages to her mobile phone. http://www.informationng.com/2013/05/koko-master-signs-durella-to-db-records.html |

Nigerian Army Commences War In Borno Forest Against Boko Haram, Curfew Imposed The Nigerian Army yesterday formally commenced air and ground hostilities against Boko Haram under emergency regulations in thick forests in Sambisa, Borno State in an area the sect was reported to have used as a recruiting and training base. A senior military officer source said that under conditions of anonymity that the soldiers attacked the area and dislodged the sect members who fled the heavy military onslaught. The source said that there is yet to be any serious offensive mounted by the sect, stressing that the Nigerian Army is backed by the Nigerian Air Force who are part of the operations. The source also told us that soldiers are hunting down members of the Boko Haram sect in all their identified bases in Gashua, Yobe state. Banks and other public and government businesses have been instructed to suspend their operations. Meanwhile, a 6pm to 6am curfew has been imposed on Yola, Adamawa State, starting today, as part of the crackdown against Boko horam. I was there my self |

Explosion and sporadic gunshots rocked the quiet town of Daura, Katsina state, home town of opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari Thursday night. The attack started about 10 p.m. and was still ongoing one hour later. Witnesses say the attackers brought down a police station and robbed banks and homes. It is unclear if the attackers are members of the extremist Boko Haram sect that has been terrorizing northern Nigeria since 2009. The attack comes barely 48 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in three northern states — Borno, Yobe and Adamawa. Katsina, also home to late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, under whose watch the Boko Haram sect transformed to a terror organization, has managed to remain insulated from the security crises in northern Nigeria. The police in Katsina were unreadable for comments Thursday night.

There was this robbery in nigeria, the robbers shouted to everyone: "All of you don't move, money belongs to the state, but life belongs to you". Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called "Mind Changing Concept --> Changing the conventional way of thinking". ---------------------------------------One lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her "Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!" This is called "Being Professional --> Focus only on what you are trained to do!" ---------------------------------------When the robbers got back, the younger robber (MBA trained) told the older robber (who is only primary school educated), "Big bro, let's count how much we got", the older robber rebutted and said, "You are very stupid, so much money, how are we going to count, tonight Amshi tv will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!" This is called "Experience --> nowadays experience is more important than paper qualifications!" --------------------------------------- After the robbers left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. The supervisor says "Wait, wait wait, let's put the 5 million naira we embezzled into the amount the robbers robbed". This is called "Swim with the tide --> converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!" --------------------------------------- The supervisor says "It will be good if there is a robbery every month". This is called "Killing Boredom --> Happiness is most important." ![]() --------------------------------------- The next day,Amshi TV news reported that 100 million naira was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count 20 million naira The robbers were very angry and complained "We risked our lives and only took 20 million naira, the bank manager took 80 million naira with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!" This is called "Knowledge is worth as much as gold !" |

One of my staff went missing for a few hours and I finally found him fast asleep in the store. Rather than waking him up, I quietly placed a note on the man's chest which read: "As long as you're asleep, your job is secured. But as soon as you are awake, you're fired," signed MD. Now my question: "Should this man wake up or continue sleeping" ![]() |
