PoliticsRe: PDP Shifts NEC Meeting Amid Saraki Peace Talks by Amitex(m): 1:42am On May 26, 2025
Newsgeek24:
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has postponed its 99th National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting, News360 Nigeria reports.

The NEC meeting was scheduled to be held on May 27, 2025, at the PDP’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

However, the NEC was postponed to allow room for the former Senate President Bukola Saraki-led reconciliation committee to carry out its assignment.

A notice tagged: “Postponement of the 99th NEC Meeting,” signed by PDP’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, said a new date will be scheduled.

The notice reads:

“The above subject refers. This is to formally inform leaders and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great party that the proposed NEC meeting earlier announced to take place on May 27, 2025, has been postponed.

“The postponement is to allow the Sen. Bukola Saraki’s Reconciliation Committee to complete its assignment of resolving some internal conflicts necessary to have a peaceful NEC meeting.

“Accordingly, a new date will be formally announced in accordance with the PDP Constitution 2017 as amended and the Electoral Act, 2022.

“Therefore, any notice of NEC meeting or publication signed by the Deputy National Secretary in the guise of Acting National Secretary is illegal, unauthorized, and should be disregarded.

“All inconveniences resulting from this change of date are regretted. Please accept the assurances of my esteemed regards.”

This comes as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, withdrew from all agreements with the party leadership meant to end the crisis.

Wike, who claimed to have been fighting for PDP’s survival since 1998, accused some party leaders of flaming the crisis, hence his decision to withdraw from all agreements.

There is no need for collation centers at LGA.
Ward collation should suffice.
After ward collation and manual verifications are agreed to IREV, the REST NA EXCEL work.
Simple template by ward will make us get results in real time.
It is at LG collation that the jumbo magic happens.

Polling unit results MUST be uploaded to IREV, without that we are chasing shadow.

Tinubu should release Kanu and make him join APC. That is baba"s game plan to win South East.

PoliticsAbacha's Five Lepros Fingers Vs Tinubu's One Lepros Hand by Amitex(op): 9:26am On Apr 28, 2025
Between 1995 to 1998 General Sani Abacha reigned supreme. Under his ruler ship, Nigeria practiced multi-party democracy with over five political parties. Some of the prominent parties were namely:

1. United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP)
2. Congress for National Concensus (CNC)
3. Grassroot Democracy Movement (GDM)
4. Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN)
5. National Center Party of Nigeria (NCPN)

These five leading political parties would later adopt Abacha as a consensus candidate in April 1998 (mark the month), with only some of CNC politicians (Alhaji MD Yusuf and Tunji Braithwaite) putting up some resistance and going to court on that matter, but the Appeal court rejected the suit by claiming it lacked jurisdiction over the case.

The aim of the Abacha transition programme was to hand over power to a democratic government on 1st October 1998.

National Assembly elections already held on 25th April 1998, while gubernatorial and presidential elections were scheduled for 1st August 1998.

Abacha died on 8th June 1998.. (Again, mark the date)

General Abacha's plan to rule Nigeria by coercing politicians and political party's structure into one focal presidential candidacy ended the IBB/Abacha transition programme.
Whether it was man or God that intervened, that force did not support an unguarded selfish ambition.

Fastforward to 2025. The current democratic experiment has lasted about 25 years now. We are expecting another elections in 2027. Now, we are in April 2025, that is 2 years to 2027 inauguration of new president. Also that would about 30 years from the time that Abacha coerced all 5 major parties to declare him, "Who the cap fits"

So, it is not surprising that all the five major political parties, namely APC, PDP, LP, SDP and NNPP are now endorsing Bola Ahmed TINUBU as the only candidate for 2027. Though, these parties have not indicated that officially, but with the gale of defections going on now, we have arrived there.

Just like in 1995, those Abacha's 5 lepros fingers (as Gani Fawehinmi of blessed memory called them), we now have a lepros hand under Tinubu clutching on to 5 political parties (5 lepros fingers). Coincidentally, the only voices of dissent are heard in LP and perhaps SDP. Other are emptied of politicians who have technically endorsed Tinubu for president againt the wishes of majority Nigerians.

So, let us tie it all together. In 1998, Nigerians were in despair as politicians who ought to represent them and challenge Abacha folded, so to speak, except MD Yusuf and Tunji Bratewaite. Those were no match for Abacha politically speaking. So, all things being equally, Abacha was getting a new mandate in 1998. The slogan was simple Who the cap fis. However, the God of Nigeria said "NO".to dictatorship. The rest is now history.

So now WHAT? Well the same God is watching!
HE is watching as we dance the same macabre dance of ONE PARTY state or one lepros hand with 5 fingers, while the masses are in despair and despondent.

Will HE intervene, HE sure will.. Because, HE has found atleast 10 Nigerians who are faithful, so HE will not allow the destruction to come upon us.

The beginning of the end to Jagaban. They should have allowed Ambode a second term. Then, let 2023 to slide. Now they added Obaseki to the list. These are financial guys, anyhow you want to put it. Ambode was an Auditor at Somolu Local Government and later Lagos Accountant General before becoming governor. Obaseki was neck deep in Lagos investment matters. These guys know alot and if they chose to fight back, hmmm.

It will be very messy anyhow you view it. Whether it is witchhunt or 'wizardhunt', it is better to chop and let others chop and go. There will always be that day of reckoning.
