How is it possible to use 2 200amps batteries for a 5kva inverter, which should at least be 48 Volts? Was thinking that would require 4 batteries. please, educate me.

Ideally 5kva should be 48v (4 batteries system), but as the saying nothing is impossible, in a rear case some Chinese inverter rating comes 5kva/24v

You made a good investment, I'm an installer based in Lagos. I don't know the point you're trying to make but I can say your storage is not bad for your loads and if you intend more hours of usage add 2 more Panels of 280w capacity to the existing 4pcs. As this will enhance fast charging of your batteries even while in use with the daily a available sun hours.

Please let's share ideas on this solar installation, cost implications, down side and many more.

I neither sell nor have knowledge of solar system but on 24th December 2022 I engaged someone to install solar for me due to the power situation here in Abuja especially during dry season.

Well to cut the long story short, I decided to go for 3kva inverter with inbuilt charge controller, 4 280w felicity mono panel with 2 200amh dry cell battery with a cost implication of around 1 million

Breakdown:
1. 280w felicity mono panel 84,000 per 1 ( note: the person promised me 300w for 84,000 only for him to bring 280w and the excuse he gave me was that the 300w is not a strong product but felicity product is durable)

2. 3KVA 24V inverter with inbuilt charge controller 290,000

3. Battery 200amh 160,000 per 1 dry cell

4. Battery rack, installation kits and installation charge 150,000

Mind you, I base in Abuja where things are a little expensive, so i believed its possible to get it at a cheaper rate elsewhere.

I did not connect my fridge at all but lighting points are connected, smart TV of 55inche and 45inche are connected and I can use any depending if I am in the seating room or inner room.

DISCOVERY: once it is 6:30pm the solar stop charging via panel and i can use my bulbs and TV and 2 fans for hours (i.e i watch TV from 6:30pm to maybe 9pm before going to bed and i switch on at least 8 bulbs from that 6:30pm till 6:30am the following day when the inverter automatically starts charging again via solar.

I also discover that in this solar installation, having a very good battery will safe you alot and also dry cell battery can go bad even within 2months if installed before and then you disconnect and reconnect after like 2-3month probably due to relocation issue.


Please kindly share your own view without insult let's learn one or two things.

Your advice is highly needed pls. My gear was jacking and vibrating especially when changing it. It was not selecting properly, though I drove it to Ondo state last year nov without any issue. I took it ladipo the valve body was changed. Two days after, while driving he didn’t enter drive. How can I go about this plsss

Bro! Inner conviction is what you simply needs. In as much as Knowledge/skill is ageless so no age one can not learn. Don't waste your time take it up NOW industry needs who can do it and not who can read or have read how to do it. There's many problem awaiting to be solved by you alone and propel you to attained you life satisfaction! Believe you me, your background can not posed obstacle to your potential skill. As I'm speaking to you I studied geography at ABU Zaria and then enrol for m.sc remote sensing at unilag but while on apprentice in solar energy installation to the point of quitting the program at the long run cause I see future in it and I can't allow it to slip away for any yeye certificate Nigerian institutions can offered me. Beside I prefer technical skill to knowledge though I realize this late but to be late comer is better to be THE LATE AMOS ADEOTI.

Your course of study have nothing to do with what carear you intended for yourself. Studying geography could be of a little help because it cut across most spheres of knowledge in the sense that geography ( the study of place) entails not only the geographicals features one can find in any place but how these features modify the place to suit human living.

There's nothing wrong dealing with wears if it will really meet your needs. But mind you students are the most rational set of status.
