There was a time when this Car Talk section had a lot of logical adult males who were vastly experienced and knowledge gathered on various car brands based on their first hand experiences, ownerships, diagnosis and repairs of these brands, for private and commercial. Most of them have left the section/forum for good or not active in this section anymore like me.

Majority of what we have now are men who see everything they can't afford to buy or maintain as bad. When I was as boy, the adult males back then were wishing to be bigger than they were, to be able to afford good things in life they desire. But the men we have today prefer to remain where they are and then condemn every other good thing as bad that are beyond their reach, capacity or capability.

The current norm in Car Talk is "All Euro car brands/Vehicles are bad". Trying to debate that is like trying to tell a sheep to ignore the voice of his shepherd. The knowledge and authority they claim to have on the so called "all the bad car brands" are gotten from online opinions or perceptions. You hardly see people that drive V10 & V12 Vehicles complaining online about maintenance cost or fuel consumption, because they can afford it. What you see are hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of rants, whining and complaints from 3-4 cylinder engine Vehicle users, making V6 Vehicles a nightmare to own, not to think of V8.

At least, be happy you are not infected with the virus (or at least, not anymore). Don't waste your energy trying to disinfect them, for majority of modern men really don't want to be saved. Some virus are more deadlier than the corona and the likes.

Security agents magnet cause of yahoo boys, police, SARS etc.
Constantly being stopped in almost every check point, having to identify ur self often, when other lesser cars are allowed to go b4 they even get close to the check points

I drive a c300 and my experience has been totally different.I rarely ever get harassed by Police and if they stop me, its usually "bros show us love nah"

Stop saying what you dont know. There has never been any car produced that is "Nigerian Spec". When you buy a Canadian Spec, the lube specified on the manual has considered the temperature of the region where the car will be used. 5W30 or 0W20 are light oil whose pour point(the temperature at which oil ceases to flow) are very very low hence the lubricant is still effective even at -5 degrees C. For Nigerian Climate which is mostly hot, 20W50 seems to be the best lube you can use on older model cars produced earlier than 2008 because of the following:
1. Most times, they dont dry up unless there is leakage
2. Their sealing properties are high
3. Also, though they have high pour points, Nigeria doesnt lie close to the temperate zones.

But make sure the API classification of the engine oil you are using matches with the recommended value. There are C (for diesel engines CD, CF, etc) and S (for gasoline engines SF, SD, SJ, SL, SN etc, ).
