Have you ever heard that song called Sexual Healing? It’s not just a metaphor. Sex can actually heal. It can heal your body and mind and prevent lots of diseases. Some say it’s the first medicine ever known to man and it should be administered daily. Sounds too good to be true? Let’s discover the four reasons for which a man should have sex each day. Great form of exercise Making love is a form of physical activity. During intercourse, the physiological changes in your body are consistent with a workout. You must have noticed that the respiratory rate rises, which means you get tired. Hence, you burn calories. If you have sex three times a week for 15 minutes (but we know you can do better than that) you’ll burn about 7.500 calories in a year. That’s the equivalent of jogging 75 miles! Heavy breathing raises the amount of oxygen in your cells, and the testosterone produced during sex keeps your bones and muscles strong. Pain relief The “Honey, not today, I have a headache” cannot be an excuse any more. During sex, both male and female bodies produce endorphins, hormones that act as weak painkillers. A study conducted by Gina Ogden showed that during sexual stimulation and especially during orgasm, we don’t feel pain. If she finds another excuse, remind her that sex is good for her entire reproductive system, because it trains the PC muscle, which keeps the reproductive organs in shape. In women, sex can also increase fertility, postpone the menopause and relieve PMS symptoms. Prostate protection Most of the fluid you ejaculate is secreted by the prostate gland. If you stop ejaculating, the fluid stays in the gland, which tends to swell, causing lots of problems. Regular ejaculation will wash those fluids out and ensure the well being of your prostate until old age. Problems may also occur when you suddenly change the frequency of ejaculations. Prevents erectile dysfunctions Fifty per cent of men older than 40 suffer from erectile dysfunctions and all young men fear the moment when they won’t be able to get it up any more. The best medicine against impotence is…sex. An erection keeps the blood flowing through your penile arteries, so the tissue stays healthy. Plus, doctors compare an erection to an athletic reflex: the more you train the more capable you are to perform. Stress relief It’s a scientific fact: sex can be a very effective way of reducing stress levels. During sex your body produces dopamine, a substance that fights stress hormones, endorphins, aka “happiness hormones” and oxytocin, a desire-enhancing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland.

Its a long one, but take your time to read it. A Sad Love Story telling us not to be afraid of expressing our Feelings. I have a boyfriend who grew up with me. His name is Vin. I always thought of him as a friend until last year when we went to a trip from a club. I found that I fell in love with him. Before that trip was over, I took a step and confessed my love for him. And soon, we became a pair of lovers, but we loved each other in different ways. I always concentrated on him only, but by his side, there were so many other girls. To me, he was the only one, but to him, maybe I was just another girl… “Vin, do you want to go watch a movie?” I asked. “I can’t” “Why? You need to study at home?” I felt disappointment grabbing me. “No… I am going to meet a friend…” He was always like that. He met girls in front of me, like it was nothing. To him, I was just a girlfriend. The word ‘love’ only came out from my mouth. Since I knew him, I had never heard him say ‘I love you’ before. To us, there weren’t any anniversaries at all. He didn’t say anything from the first day and it continued till 100 days…200days… Everyday, before we say goodbye, he would just hand me a doll, everyday, without fail. I don’t know why… Then one day… Me: Um, Vin, I … Vin: What…don’t drag, just say.. Me: I love you. Vin: ……you….um, just take this doll and go home. That was how he ignored my ‘three words’ and handed me the doll. Then he disappeared, like he was running away. The dolls I received from him everyday filled my room, one by one. There were many… Then one day came, my 18th year old birthday. When I got up in the morning, I pictured a party with him, and stranded myself in my room, waiting for his call. But… lunch passed, dinner passed… and soon the sky was dark… he still didn’t call. It was already tiring to look at the phone anymore. Then around 2am in the morning, he suddenly called me and woke me from my sleep. He told me to come out of the house. Still, I felt joy and I ran out happily. Me: Vin… Vin: Here…take this… Again, he handed me a little doll. Me: What’s this? Vin: I didn’t give it to you yesterday, so I am giving it to you now. I’m going home now, bye. Me: Wait, wait! Do you know what today is? Vin: Today? Huh? I felt so sad, I thought he would remember my birthday. He turned around and walked away like nothing had happen. Then I shouted… “Wait…” Vin: You have something to say? Me: Tell me, tell me you love me… Vin: What?! Me: Tell me I put my pathetic self behind and clung on to him. But he just said simple cold words and left. “I don’t want to say…that I love someone so easily, if you are desperate to hear it, then find someone else.” That was what he said. Then he ran off. My legs felt numb… and I collapsed to the ground. He didn’t want to say it easily… How could he…. I felt that… Maybe he is not the right guy for me… After that day, I stranded myself at home crying, just crying. He didn’t call me, although I was waiting. He just continued handing me a little doll every morning outside my house. That’s how those dolls piled up in my room… everyday ! After a month, I got myself together and went to school. But what made the pain resurfaced was that… I saw him on a street… with another girl… He had a smile on his face, one that he never showed me…as he touched the doll… I ran straight back home and looked at the dolls in my room, and tears fell… Why did he gave these to me… Those dolls are probably picked out by some other girls…In a fit of anger, I threw the dolls around. Then suddenly, the phone rang. It was him. He told me to come out to the bus stop outside my house. I tried to calm myself down and walked to the bus stop. I kept reminding myself that I am going to forget him, that… it’s going to end. Then he came into my sight, holding a big doll Vin: Jo, I thought you were pissed, you really came? I couldn’t help hating him, acting like nothing had happen and joking around. Soon, he held out the doll as usual… Me: I don’t need it. Vin: What….why… I grabbed the doll from his hands and threw it on the road. Me: I don’t need this doll, I don’t need it anymore!! I don’t want to see a person like you again! I spitted out all the words that were inside me. But unlike other days, his eyes very shaking. “I’m sorry” He apologized in a tiny voice. He then walked over to the road to pick up the doll… Me: You stupid! Why are you picking up the doll?! Just throw it away!!! But he ignored me and just went to pick the doll. Then… ***** With a loud honk, a big truck was heading towards him. “Vin! Move! Move away!” I shouted… But he didn’t hear me, he squatted down and picked up the doll. “Vin, move!” ~!! “Boom!” That sound, so terrifying. That’s how he went away from me. That’s how he went away without even opening his eyes to say one word to me. After that day, I had to go through everyday with guilt and the sadness of losing him… And after spending two months like a crazy person… I took out the dolls. Those were the only gifts he left me since the day we started going out. I remembered the days I spent with him and started to count the days… when we were in love… “One…two… three…” That was how… I started to count the dolls… “Four hundred and eighty four… four hundred and eighty five…” It all ended with 485 dolls. I then started to cry again, with a doll in my arms. I hugged it tightly, then suddenly… “I love you~, I love you~” I dropped the dolls, shocked. “I….lo..ve…you??” I picked up the dolls and pressed its stomach. “I love you~ I love you~” It can’t be! I pressed all the dolls’ stomach as it piled on the side. “I love you~” “I love you~” “I love you~” Those words came out non-stop. I…love you… Why didn’t I realize that….That his heart was always by my side, protecting me. Why didn’t I realize that he love me this much… I took out the doll under the bed and pressed it’s stomach, that was the last doll, the one that fell on the road. It had his blood stain on it. The voice came out, the one that I was missing so much… “Jo…Do you know what today is? We’ve been loving each other for 486 days. Do you know what 486 is? I couldn’t say I love you…. Um… since I was too shy… If you forgive me and take this doll, I will say that I love you… everyday… till I die… Jo… I love you…” The tears came flowing out of me. Why? Why? Why do I only know about all this now? He can’t be by my side, but he loved me until his last minute… For that… and for that reason… to me… it became courage… to live a beautiful life… I advise every one reading this story to always be courageous to tell their feelings to the ones they love. Never hold back, never keep your love in a box. Love as if this is all there is. Never let the one you love go without letting them know how you feel.

This happened yesterday at 9, Oguntade Street, Shasha area of Lagos State, and I have a picture of the baby with the Quran, another reader sent it in. has confirmed the story. And here's what they said happened. The mother of the baby, Kabirat Lamidi, a 32-year old hairstylist, said right from the conception of the baby, she had been sick. She said when the baby refused to come out after 11 months, she went for a scan where it was shown that she had an object in the womb with the baby. The Ede, Osun State indigene who said she had been married for 10 years, said she was shocked to discover that few seconds after the baby was delivered, she pushed out a Quran. “I have been hearing about such incidents and I have always insulted people thinking it could never happen. I believe it is a gift from Allah,” she said. She said as a Muslim, she was not even dedicated and did not know how to pray, expressing surprise that such an incident could happen to her. The mother of three said she had always given birth in the hospital but that on this day, she went into labour so fast that she could not move. “My advice to people is that they should henceforth watch their mouth. I didn’t believe before now,” she said. Mrs. Saudat Olawuwo, a staff nurse with the Shasha Medical Centre who assisted with the delivery, said she was called by neighbours when the woman was in labour. Mrs. Olawuwo with 17 years working experience, said the woman was supposed to put to birth on 16 May, but it did not happen. “By the time I came the day she was in labour, the baby was already coming out. So I assisted her. “After that, we were expecting the placenta, but the woman began behaving like one about to run mad. I was so confused. “The woman was shouting that she wanted to push again and all of a sudden, the Quran, wrapped in nylon and stained with blood jumped out. “Out of confusion, I ran out and called people who came to see. We also called a Muslim cleric around the area who came and prayed for the baby,” she said. Father of the baby, Luqman Lamidi, said he was in a drinking bar when he was called and told that his wife had delivered a baby with a Quran. He said he did not believe until he came and saw the Quran covered with blood. “I arrived home and saw a lot of crowd and could not even enter. In fact, I am surprised that a drunk like me could produce a child that came into this world with a Quran,” he said, adding that he had become a changed person. Chief Imam of Oguntade, Shasha, Alhai AbdulRafiu Opeloyeru Oyedokun, said he was the one who tore the nylon from the Quran after he was called to the place. “When I came, people were still doubting if the object was a Quran or not, so I tore the nylon with blood on it publicly and everyone confirmed it.” As the yet to be named baby boy lay asleep, P.M.NEWS noticed that each time the Quran is placed on his chest, he consistently lifted his hands up and would not drop the hands until the Quran is taken off.

Highlife music veteran, Fatai Rolling Dollar is dead at 85. The octogenarian passed on this morning at Ahmadiyya Hospital in Abule Egba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria. He was rushed to the hospital by his wife about a week ago. Kunle Tejuosho, whose label, Jazzhole Records, brought out ‘Won Kere Si Number Wa’ among other albums, confirmed his death. He said the deceased came back from America some weeks ago where he had gone for shows for about three weeks. Tejuosho in his tribute, said: “Baba was a great Musician. He lived life of a music. He was always happy to perform. May be he took too much on. “He was a good guy. He enjoyed his life. He had a second chance which he used very well. “He would be missed because he brought the past alive to the present. He re-lived the music of the 50s. He was a great music historian and a great music custodian.” Yomi Opakunle, his former manager, also confirmed the death. He however said the deceased may be buried today. Rolling Dollar was known for his verve and dexterity on the guitar. His zest for life and energy, even in old age, was also a marvel to all who beheld him while performing. After decades of struggling to make ends meet and musical doldrums, Rolling Dollar got a new lease of life after the French Cultural Centre brought him back into public consciousness. He later got a higher lift through Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while as Lagos State governor. The late musician was given a house in one of the low cost housing estates in New Oko Oba, Lagos. Juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey was among those trained by the late musician. As a pioneer Juju music player, Rolling Dollar clarified in an interview how juju music derived its name. “It was derived from the tambourine which is one of the key instruments used to play it. When they play it on the street they would shout ‘Ju so ke’. They would then throw the tambourine up and shake it. … shukushuku. That was how juju got its name and not from bad medicine and all that. Even though in Saro land the word was taken to mean bad medicine. But here in Lagos our juju meant music. In juju then, we had the guitar, agidigbo, samba, sekere and at times we used the bottle to give us that clave sound. In fact, white people invented the clave from our bottle sound. That is where they got the idea for it,” he said. He was born on 22 July, 1926, in Ede, Osun State. He is survived by wives and many children.
