In a bid to dodge the incessant traffic in Lagos, popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson has done the unusual with her daughter, Purity.

The much loved Nollywood actress and her daughter Purity avoided the incessant traffic gridlock on Lagos roads, especially the Ikeja axis, on Monday, by taking a ride on one of the fully air-conditioned trains commissioned by the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
Mercy Johnson took to her instagram to explain why she decided to take the train to Ikeja instead of going through traffic in Lagos. She posted a picture of herself and daughter on her instagram page with the caption‘Traffic emergency last night.. Ran with my heels off, Purity & I caught the train to Ikeja. No dulling’
She also posted a video of them on the train with the caption‘Purity and I braved a train ride to Ikeja… Not Everytime Endure Lagos Traffic for 5 Hours, Sometimes….take the tube!’

A 54-year-old woman simply identified as Fatima has been accused of rendering her husband, Asimiyu Olayinka impotent.
Olayinka, a 67-year-old pensioner dragged his wife before the Alakuko Customary Court in Lagos state, begging for his 26-year-old marriage to be dissolved.
According to Olayinka, who accused his wife of adultery, his manhood stopped functioning after the last time he slept with his wife.
Narrating what happened he said: “On that day, my wife gave me a special treatment when I returned from work which led us to our bedroom. Surprisingly, during lovemaking, I had a terrible attack. I fell from the bed and excreted on my body. I thought I was going to die because it was like magun (charm) was placed on me. As I speak, it’s been three years since I slept with any woman. I am impotent.”
According to him, he had married her because his second wife was troublesome. She was a good wife and used to take care of his seven children he had from previous marriages.
He said trouble started in 2005, when he retired. She started misbehaving and stopped listening to him.
“My wife is fond of entertaining men at the frontage of our house which I am strongly against. At my age, I still fetch water and wash my clothes. I never believed she could engage in extra marital sex until I saw her walk out from a hotel with a co-landlord in our neighbourhood. She was shocked to see me but I greeted her. It’s been one year since I stopped asking about her movement. It is painful I can’t do anything as a man. I don’t even know the reason she left her previous marriages. There can’t be peace in our home except we part ways,” he said.

Giving her own side of the story, Mrs Olayinka, who is a food vendor, said her husband was a violent man and she has not achieved anything since she got married to him.
“He never bought me a wrapper but he complains each time I am in a new outfit. I am surprised he said he is impotent because the last time we slept with each other was February 2014. The night he fell from the bed and defecated, he was drunk. I washed his faeces in the midnight. He didn’t see me in a hotel with another man. I really don’t know why he is saying all this.
“My husband is violent. Whenever he is ready to sleep with me, he beats me with a towel. I will say he was smart enough to bring our case to court because I am also fed up. I just want N200,000 compensation from him and I want him to take responsibilities of our last daughter’s education.”
Also addressing the court, his first son Abdul’razaq said his father is always drunk and this has been an issue for 10 years.He said: “There was a time my father told me my mother was committing adultery; I had to monitor her movement for two days but there was no evidence. There is unity among the children but our parents keep fighting. I will be glad if the court reconciles them because this is the time our father needs care.”
Presiding over the case, the court’s president, Chief Awos Awosola, gave Olayinka two days to re-consider a divorce.

The embattled Chibok community will have a reason to smile again at least for now, as President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the rebuilding of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.
The school was destroyed by terrorist group, Boko Haram, on the night of Monday, April 14, 2014 when the group launched the attack which saw them kidnap more than 200 schoolgirls, that sparked outrage around the world.
According to The Trent, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala made this known yesterday when she led a delegation on behalf of the Federal Government to visit Internally Displaced Persons from Chibok who are being camped in Buzunkure, Kuje area council of the federal capital territory.
Okonjo Iweala said: “The major focus of the federal government is to ensure that Boko Haram is removed so that people can move back to their communities. Displacement is not a permanent condition; the idea is for you people to be able to go back and not to build you camps in different places.
“The second thing is about the school, Government Secondary School, Chibok. About two days ago, we had a conversation for a long time; we have been waiting for the right circumstances.
“That school, the president is determined and he promised publicly that he will have the school rebuilt. The plans are ready; they are working with engineers. In no far distance, we will be able to start work in that school; he has already approved that.”
The Minister further revealed that 44 students from the IDPs would join 2,400 others that would be relocated from schools in the troubled region courtesy of support from the British, American and Norwegians donors, World Bank and African Development Bank as part of the safe schools initiative.
She further enthused thus: “If they want to be placed in schools close to this place, we will do it. If they want to be in secondary schools elsewhere, it will be done. It is a voluntary thing and we will try to meet up with their demands,”she concluded.
Meanwhile, a Chevron engineer, Chinedu Onyeizu, who graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), and was posted to Bayelsa State for his one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2002 has revealed the encounter he had with President Goodluck Jonathanwhile he was the deputy-Governor of Bayelsa.

The Lagos State Police Command yesterday arraigned three men for allegedly attempting to murder Ibidunni Ighodalo, the wife of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House Church.
The men taken in custody are: a 24-year-old dog-handler Abdulkareem Mohammed, a 36-year-old herbalist Akeem Makinde-Ewuosi and a 29-year-old guard Paul Eke.
According to the prosecutor, Chidi Okoye, the three men tried to murder the victim with the same poisonous substance which they used to poison Simba, the pastor’s dog sometime between January 28 and February 10, 2015, Ikoyi, Lagos.
One of the defendants allegedly had sexual fantasies towards Mrs Ighodalo. After killing the dog he planned to kill her husband, hoping that the love and affection she has for her husband and the dog will be transferred to him.
The men were later arrested after Mrs. Ighodalo said she “prayed and the Holy Spirit revealed”to her that something was wrong.

The recent rescheduling of the presidential election from February 14 to March 28 has not gone down well with many Nigerian guys who are dating.

Skulboi on his part says Valentines day is a no no. The up coming artist who recently signed for YEYE Entertainment said it makes more economic sense to be single due to the harsh economic realities in the country.
Ayo Tunde however took a different view, he said even though he doesn’t observe Valentine, he feels boyfriends who wanted to use the presidential election as an excuse to dodge the Valentines day were insincere to their girlfriends.
Sharing the same view with Ayo is Adedotun, a banker who said he doesn’t take Valentines day serious. But he was opposed to guys running away because of Valentine. According to him: “back then in the University of Ibadan a girl spent 25000 on me. This proves that sometimes ladies may take the lead in spending.”

The news of the aged woman’s demise was confirmed by the singer via his account on a popular micro-blogging website called Twitter.
The ‘Star Boy’ boss expressed sadness over the unfortunate development, stating that his late grandma was a “good woman” who “looked” after her family.
He said “I am sad, real sad” over the death of the woman.
“R.I.P grandma, [I] love you to the moon and back. I’m sad! Real sad! Good woman. [You] looked out for all of us. [I] wish we had more time together. Love!,” he tweeted.

The Lebanese couple tries settles
Nigerian worker with N400K after
torturing her
The Lebanese business owners, Joseph
and Hala Yazbeck, who severely tortured
a Nigerian woman working for them,
Grace Okpara, are making moves to
settle the matter amicably by offering
her the sum of N400,000 so as to settle
the case away from the police.
The celebrated case made the headlines
few days ago when it was reported that
woman who was a cleaner at Buildwell
Plant and Equipment Industry Limited, a
logistics company located along the
Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, where the
couple are said to be directors, was
brutalized by the Lebanese wife and her
husband and in the process, Okpara
sustained serious injuries and had to be
hospitalized.
She also reported the case to the Ibafo
Police Station in Ogun State, but the
Yazbecks do not want the case to go
beyond the police and are prepared to
settle her.
Reports have it that the Delta State born
woman was made the offer during a
peace meeting called by the Divisional
Police Officer of the station in a bid to
settle the issue.
But Okpara is said to refused collecting
the money, choosing instead to have the
matter charged to court as soon as the
striking judiciary workers resumed
duties.
She says she wants to use as case to
serve a deterrent to other foreigners
who maltreat Nigerian staff, treating
them as lesser people.
Okpara narrates that prior to the torture
incident, the woman, Hala, had been a
thorn in her flesh right from when she
began working with the company four
years ago. She said that torturing
workers was a common occurrence in
the company.
According to her, Lebanese employers
often brag about how they have bought
the Nigerian system, claiming that even
if they kill a Nigerian working in their
companies, the government would not
do anything against them.

Distubing photos of an unusual piglet
with a human face and a penis on its
head went viral, attracting visitors and
those wishing to buy a mutant.
Tao Lu, a farmer from the city of
Nanning, China, was shocked one of his
pigs delivered 19 piglets with one of
them severely deformed. After pictures
of the mutant appeared in local media,
friends, neighbours and curious visitors
from all over the country flooded Lu’s
farm.
Most of the witnesses were struck by
the fact that the animal was born with a
human face and a penis. Some of them
offered large sums of money in
exchange for the pig but it died shortly
after being rejected by its mother and
refusing a bottle.
Speaking about the bizarre piggy the
farmer said, “It was a large litter, and the
mutant was one of the last of 19 piglets
to be born. All the others were normal,
just this one was really bizarre.
It is a shame it died, I could have got
more money for it than for the rest of
the family put together based on what
people were offering me on the
phone.”
One of the locals who saw the live, Wu
Kung, 32, said, “I was one of a dozen
people who went there to see the piglet,
and it really did have human face and
exactly like he said, a penis growing out
of its forehead.”
This is not the first case of mutation in
animal: a piglet who was born with 8
legs, a lamb born with four eyes, two
noses and two mouths, a cyclop lamb
with only one eye, two-headed snake
and many more.
