You are right, and Warren Buffett could as well be considered as one of the insiders or financial manipulators.. I have personally concluded you cannot be extremely wealthy and be 100% legit.

Investing in stocks/equities are okay, but we have a limitation if you aren't an insider, because we can only accept whatever we are given in the name of dividends.

Investment in stocks/equities always reminds me of Animal Farm by George Orwell. "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".

Allboiz:
Warren Buffett, the most successful investor alive, disagrees entirely.

All the same, I agree there are manipulations here and there by institutional players. Mostly, retail investors take the hit.

Hmmmm Do all you can to avoid Quatum Zenith if you can, I had a very bad experience with them.... I assure you that you will never be happy with any move you make with Quatum Zenith, they are completely ruled out.

Na waoo, but why Quatum Zenith when you have far better and efficient fund managers in Nigeria?

mayDtolu:
Hello everybody! I am trying to invest and save money in mutual funds through Quantum Zenith. Is the application safe? A treasury bill officer at Zenith Bank told me to download the app and set it up.

Please, your experience and suggestions are needed.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by AncestralPowers: 4:06pm On Jun 01
Good observation, that's why investors like Robert Kiyosaki don't invest in stocks and don't advise people to invest in stocks.

According to Robert Kiyosaki, every stock market across the globe is a play ground for finanacial manipulators.. You might agree or disagree with Kiyosaki, but he has a valid point.

Before the shares of any company is transparently disclosed to the general public, the main profits had already been shared amongst insiders themselves....

I always laugh when people are trying hard to hype upcoming Dangote shares... We are waiting sha

Bluearrow:
This dividend of a thing is just one thing that never interest me about stocks. How will someone have almost 35m worth of mtn shares & receive a dividend of around 600k once in a year? At the end of the day the dividend will still be deducted from the share & its unit price will drop after payment. When I see people screaming dividends online, I wonder if there is another one.

One influencer was shouting $0.5 dividend for one foreign stock on Facebook, I did my calculation & discovered a $10k worth of that stock will give less than $12 in dividend. I really don't understand what the excitement is about on dividends sha

Investing in stocks and equity isn't a child's play at all, I subscribed to Stanbic equity funds and lost substantial amount within hours, patience is just the key though.

I thank God for money market mutual fund, the stability and rest of mind in money market mutual fund is far above 50% in health value..

investmentvirus:
Honestly i dont understand Stanbic Imaan & Equity again.

The last 30 days has been crazy with only 6% Profit, this is insane.

GT Equity too has been misbehaving. They will give u huge profit today, tomorrow they will collect the whole profit. Then start giving one chicken feed/peanuts as profit like N1,000 daily.

Thanks dear, it is amazing to see a woman so passionate about investments. Truly, gone are the days when men thinks women only belongs to the kitchen or the other room.

I appreciate you...

Does stanbic compound gains from Imaan Fund monthly, quarterly or yearly?

investmentvirus:
Imaan Fund is high risk-high reward. stanbic fund managers are so experienced, if u leave ur money for 6 months, u wont record any loss. There are some sweet months (Kanayo) and we also have months with some losses (yakubu manage)

i use their bluenest portal online. I dont k now how to use their APP stanbic 3.0 (lol)
u will open another account for it on their portal.

I do imaan, stanbic equity and GT Equity. so far, imaan has an impressive Year TIll Date gains.
Imaan does stocks and Real Estate.

Last year it did 95% Profit.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 7:36am On May 19
Thank you very much, I appreciate...

I will definitely give it a try before weekend...

LoriHamo:
Imaan is just like their equity, but it's sharia compliant..

If you use Blunest... you will see it on the list of funds they offer

I am invested in it... likewise their equity and Ethical funds as well...aside their MMF

Started 16th February...the returns are much better than their equity ...

As at this morning...

Same amount invested
Imaan...40.4%
Equity...25%

Hmm you seem to be very confident with this Stanbic Imaan Fund, could you please educate us more on it..

I might give it a try, I have a normal mutual fund account with stanbic, do I have to open a separate account for the Imaan Fund?

How risky is this Imaan fund?

Is it compounded quarterly?

investmentvirus:
N13,382,782 in 5yrs.
N4,741,632 I 3yrs

i used an average of 68% per annum.
that's worst case scenerio. it will definitely be more than this.

i used compound calculator.

i will recommend stanbic ibtc imaan fund

Stanbic Asset managers keep upgrading their apps every week, while interest rate remains stagnant and one of the lowest in the industry for almost 6 months now... Wahala.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 6:02pm On Apr 25
Please go for mutual fund for maximum returns.. Compounding your interest quarterly will do the magic, and a financial miracle by year-end, particularly when your invested fund is huge, far better than treasury bills. I so much like it when ladies are concerned about investment and returns on their money.

omotola224:
To be honest I have no problem with leaving the money for a year without touching it
I als have my emergency funds set aside
I am just trying to see if mmf will give me more returns on my investment at the end of the year or piggyvest/tbills will do better
I am fine with the risk for tbills, piggyvest or even mutual funds
Just trying to pick the best choice in terms on returns
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 9:47am On Apr 25
I asked same question many years ago, while trying to find the best investment for my money. Here is what you must know, both treasury bill and mutual funds are very okay, treasury bill is good for those with instant gratification mentality or with little patience to see their money grow...

But mutual fund is far far better on a long term basis or when calculating yearly return on investment.. Mutual fund is a great way to accummulate wealth, if only you are the patient kind of person...

omotola224:
Good evening house
Does mutual funds give a higher return yearly than tbills

Is the difference significant like what percentage of
If there is anyone that does both Kindly help give an answer based on the previous years

Even if you don’t both and know the answer to this I will appreciate
I have always done tbills or piggyvest safe lock
But I want switch completely to mutual funds
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 10:36am On Apr 23
You're very correct 💯 I did dollar mutual fund for about 2 years as well, I regretted why I did it.. it is a stagnated investment, invest in Naira and get maximum returns on your funds, you can always convert naira to any foreign currency whenever you need it..

Dollar mutual fund na bad market, forget about that high rate you are seeing on dollar mutual fund.

Don't mind bad speculations against Naira, or fear devaluation, investing in Naira is simply the best.

Iamblessed8888:
Slow growth. You’re better off converting that money to naira and converting back later on especially as there is no imminent threat of devaluation.

I made same mistake for years and it stunted my growth. YTD alone i’ve made more from my naira MMF that i did in 3 years or so with my dollar MMF.

Sometimes, you can try to tilt your message towards selling the best deal for your audience and not just the best product or best company to invest with. I guess that’s the premise of welzyj2 ‘s argument. Otherwise, you’re a solid and genuine fellow

What is the meaning of this u just wrote? Which fund manager send u? Pls stop making excuses for incompetence! Even if the customer made a mistake is that why the fund manager shouldn't respond to emails?? I use Gt fund manager & they don't use customer ID, temporary deposit account number is generated for every deposit, no id or narration is required. Stop making s!lly excuse for incompetence here!
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 1:28pm On Apr 12
Did you indicate your customer ID on the narration when sending the money?

In fact, most fund managers had been battling and struggling on how to trace and locate investors deposit into their mutual fund accounts, because some new investors often forget to write ✍️ their customers ID on the narration when sending money.

It is not always the fund managers who are slow in responding to our requests, some of us don't just follow the right procedures to make things easier for us and fund managers.

incx:
Hi guys, who has had deposit issue with gtfunds? I deposited 400k since March 30th, and till today it has not reflected in my mutual funds. I have sent emails to them, including payment receipt, but they don’t seem to be helping. Anyone has a contact of the boss that can help with this? Thank you.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 12:17pm On Apr 11
You will get your money, no need to inform SEC. Stanbic keeping huge cash to enable them pay customers who wants to withdraw their money is also affecting their ability to maximise profits and give investors better rates. Smaller fund managers don't have this issues like stanbic, in fact, the massive fund under stanbic is a big burden and obstacle to them, and same time a blessing.

welzyj2:
Na my current predicament with Stanbic

Trying to redeem for almost 2 weeks now. Dem don use email beg me twice that it's still under processing

Thinking to send another email next week and copy SEC
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 8:53pm On Apr 10
It is good to understand how fund managers operate and invest our money for maximum profits.

To all investors, it is good to have some emergency funds in a normal savings account, funds you could easily withdraw in few minutes, particularly if you know you gonna need the money in a very short period of time, and if the money isn't much or below 5 million naira.

The most attractive feature of mutual fund is the liquidity, but sometimes, fund managers don't find it easy to liquidate funds they have already invested in high yield instruments, as most fund managers often like to invest most of their funds for maximum profits.

It takes some time for fund managers to pay out fund, they sometimes have to wait to get funds from new depositors, instead of liquidating an already invested funds to pay investors....

nickae:
Seems they paid everyone today.

Very well on point, Creditalert had been useful in this forum, but he is sometimes childish with an uncontrollable temper...

He has over 150m in asset, then leave the peanut from fund managers referral to the young upcoming investors, you mustn't insult everyone online.

Money don't like noise makers, money rules demands that you keep calm as you grow in wealth and success.

Bluearrow:
What do u mean by the bold statement??
Every fund manager that has been posted on this thread is SEC approved, so why are u guys warning people? Some of u just can't mind your business here, that is what is derailing the thread. Iamblessed8888 & creditalert guy are the problem of this thread. While the creditalert guy is trying to promote fintech fund managers, Iamblessed8888 is also promoting stanbic but using warning people as smokescreen.

There is nothing wrong with advert, my first mmf account was through emmasoft stanbic link, it was through advert & posts some of us got to know others with better rate & swift withdrawal, if others didn't talk about it, none of us would know about them. The problem is never advert, but the manner in which creditalert & Iamblessed8888 have turned this advert thing into competition & constituting nuisance here.

I am trying to understand why some fund managers often maintain/upgrade their apps/websites on weekly or monthly basis, wetin dey happen?

They maintain their website more than we are maintaining our side-chicks.

Why can't they just build a solid and quality app/website and leave it to function for months or years without interruption.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 6:48pm On Mar 25
Those guys still investing with FBNquest are trying sha, those guys and their extremely complicated apps will frustrate and discourage you about investments.

They should get a licence for micro-finance and operate as such, and leave the stage for serious mutual fund managers.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by AncestralPowers: 9:32am On Mar 20
Good morning house, the treasury bill I purchased with Zenith bank in the secondary market matured yesterday, but my fund is yet to reflect in my account.

Could it be due to the holidays or network?

I thought the payments were automated, despite holidays..
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers:
Don't implicate yourself, invest your fund quietly in Nigeria while working and earning in the UK.

Considering how much resources the British government/Monarch had stolen from Nigeria over a century, Nigerians aren't supposed to pay any tax to the British government..

When transferring money for investments in Nigeria, just indicate Family Support, case closed. Our government will never implicate you in situations like this.. they will protect you instead.

Even British citizens are running to other countries to avoid their huge taxation, so na you wey dey earn small small from your menial jobs go come put tax for head.

kaceei:
I don't know if there are people here that are resident of the UK and investing in Nigeria? I want to confirm if one should or shouldn't declare the income made from investments in Nigeria to HMRC. If yes, how do you go about it?
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers: 9:49am On Mar 14
Please don't get discouraged investing the little money you have, just because someone is mentioning huge sum he/she had invested or withdrew.

Some of us here are over 50yrs of age, we have worked our entire life, and we also have a huge number of abroadians here, who earn in foreign currencies and invest in Nigeria directly, and many abroadians had been doing that for decades, and you cannot compare yourself with such people.

However, I would advise those of us with millions/billions in investments to avoid calling numbers, so that those of us with peanuts won't get discouraged to invest the little we have...

Investment is a matter of slow and steady process, and time is your biggest advantage.

InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by AncestralPowers:
Questions like this will definitely prevent you from investing or achieving your financial goals.

No investment is 100% free of risk.

Since the inception of mutual fund investments in Nigeria, no fund manager has ever gone bankrupt or investors losing money to fund managers.

Go to Oga-emmasoft's page and read about the safety of fund managers in Nigeria, he has trashed this topic severally.

sky404:
But is it wise to put in Huge amounts of money in a money market fund??
what if the fund manager liquidates as commercial banks often do??

At least with commercial banks,
You can Get your money back through NDIC, should the Bank liquidates.
as all deposits from 5m & below are all insured by NDIC.
Therefore,
You are Guaranteed Getting your money back, should the Bank folds.

But can same be said of fund managers of money market fund in Nigeria??
where people put in more than 5m & in some case 50m & above??

I just want to know,
what if the fund manager folds up today,
what happens to our funds in there,
as money market fund is NOT insured by NDIC

I just want to learn,pls.

How much can I use to build twin two bedroom flat in Aba, Abia State?

My husband and I have about 52M in mutual funds which generates about 600k monthly.

I'm considering japa in the nearest feature(the more reason I don't want to touch our capital, 52M)

I own a business which I save at least 300k every month.
The major contribution will come from me though.
