The bible says that your god created the heavens and the earth. It doesn't say anything about a universe. If the writers of that passage had spoken to an all knowing non human, then the non human entity should have described to them the difference between heavens and universe.

Heavens is a colloquial reference to what you see when you look up in the sky and possibly beyond that. But because the earth is a floating sphere, the universe extends under it as well as above us.
