This should be a complete non-issue, but here we are in 2026, watching some supposedly reasonable adults argue against the electronic transmission of election results from polling units… in this era.

We literally did this in 2023. The then INEC chairman, Yakubu, promised that election results would be uploaded in real time. When INEC’s system “glitched,” with no explanation, and the matter went to court, the court simply ruled that electronic transmission of results was not mandatory under the Electoral Act.

Now people want it made mandatory, especially during collation, so votes won’t be stolen, and suddenly there’s resistance.

So… why exactly?

They want to use go to court again. First to do no dey pain. Now it's everyone's turn. From Obidients to Afenifere to the Northerners. Let's see if they won't be doing the right thing. First person I want out is that evil Benue state governor. Let's see how he will win re-election.

Results can be snneped and stored and it will synchronize automatically where you have network...just as the BVAS works as of now.

Putting the clause Real Time....will subject the clause to many legal interpretations... because, the real time is not yet workable.

Baba this people budgeted about 1.5 trillion for election. South Africa budgeted way less and there was real time transmission of results. If SA can do it we can do it too.
