Please base on my qualification, what is your advise on admission?
Secondly, after paying in first bank, what's the next step?.

Good evening everyone, I guess nobody has an idea regarding this my question. Please I want to ask this question on behalf of a friend. The question goes thus, I work as a chef using seaman's book and ID card to enter into the UK for my contracts and return back to Nigeria after every 6 month, this my last contract, I opted for local leave to visit my friend in the UK who sent the documents requested from my place of work and my local leave of 2 weeks was granted, so I spent the 2 weeks with my friend in the UK and I returned back to Nigeria according to stipulated time for my local leave. So now, I want to apply for UK visit visa, the same person I spent my local leave with will be sending me invitation and documents to accompany the invitation. So do you think I can apply for long term visit visa of 2/more years visit visa since I've been entering into the UK though not with visa but documents that permit me to enter into the UK to work on the ship. Because most of my contract is always 6 months and if I apply for 6 months, the visa would have expired before my contract finished. Thanks in advance for answers

I had to send someone to First bank to pay my mom's application fee. And that's after trying all my debit and credit cards.

Yeah, probably. Not sure the embassy will work today. All government establishments are closed today.

Home ties is also a factor, but you have to sort the school first then revisit your home times. One thing at a time.

Is the school a community college? If it is, don't reapply. Not to be negative but the chances of a Nigerian applicant getting an F1 visa with it is almost nonexistent. Change your school to a 4-year college.
Check old threads and you will find that majority of those who went to the embassy with community college I20 were denied.

community college - red flag. Don't do it.
Sponsor in the US -50/50 chance. It's always better you get home based sponsor.

When am calmed i will write out my transcript but now i have contacted the embassy and they said i can still book if i did not see any reason for denial.

Don't be in a hurry to reapply. If am not wrong, I believe you are applying with an associate degree. If that is the case, it's a red flag and you may get a refusal again.

VOs stopped issuing F1 visas with community college admission years ago. They don't view applicants with those as bonafide students. Don't reapply with the same I20, you're going to get a refusal again. Try again with either an undergraduate or masters.

Some of the reasons for asking these specifics asides the direct benefit to the person asking is also to save other community members unnecessary headache.

I'm actually using an Access bank USD card. This is the card I travel with and use at different parts of the world and it works. Another person has also confirmed he/she was unable to use GTB USD card, with these info, it's easy for people to know those cannot be their options.

You are doing a fantastic work offering free advice here actually. But maybe you can also state the cards that has been confirmed to work, instead of just saying 'card' in that your usual response to payment option.

Sorry I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but what is the likelihood of getting a tourist Visa after a 10 year ban has elapsed?

Context: Overstayed at the age of 15 and left after graduating from secondary school at the age of 18. Tried applying for a visa at the age of 23 and was denied and given a 10 year ban. Ban expired many years ago and I've tried applying twice since then and both times was denied.

I've now been married to a Nigerian American citizen for 6 years and have a 6 year old son who is also a a Nigerian American national.
Does this put me in a better position for a tourist visa? What can I do to increase my chances?
Husband plans on filing for me next year but he will be travelling to the US for his sisters wedding soon and I would like to join him

Annabee for always answering my questions during the waiting time for payments confirmation which took more than a week and the new updated DS160 form I filled after I have submitted the initial one.

My mum went with two DS160 forms. Why?

I filled the 1st DS160 for Lagos and from the information I got on this platform concerning no interview dates in Lagos till mid next year that made we switch to Abuja.

So when making payment I picked Abuja for interview.

All I needed to do was to fill another form for Abuja. And she went with it.

Looking forward to my own interview in London come January 2025.

The decision is yours to make. I would say apply for F2 if you want them staying with you while you're studying. Visit visa if you want them to visit you occasionally.

In my case, I got my F1 visa first, then applied for F2 for my dependents. But this was 10 years ago.

You can't update a new DS160 on the AVITS system. I contacted them concerning this and they said, it's not available at this time that if one has a fast-approaching interview, they should go to the embassy with the new DS160. They also said that the embassy is aware of this issue.

I would advise you can go with the 2 just in case.

The bar codes on her application and appointment match. The only reason we filled another DS160 is to correct an error on intended travel date and interview location.

They didn't make provision for update of DS160 like the old website. I also wanted to update my mom's DS160 and realized it wasn't there, so I raise a ticket and I'm still waiting on support to respond.

However, the bar code on her DS 160 is different from the bar code on her appointment letter.

On the old appointment platform, it's easy to change it but this new system, I don't understand it at all.

Also, how can I update her DS 160? Do I need to fill a new one? I ask because I want to add more information for her travel history.

Exactly, a lot of people ignored the message from the embassy and rushed to make payment on the old website. I was already about to book appointment for my mom in July when I saw the newsletter concerning the new appointment website, I paused and waited till they moved before I continued. I knew it was going to be a hassle.

1. You seems to be lying against the embassy. It is only those with previous appointments that are supposed to be contacted by the embassy , with the introduction email that will link them with the new website ( AVITS).

2. USA embassy gave the public notification about the deadline , timeline and different procedures to make the MRV payment (online or physical @GTB) , prior to the update ,
but majority of VISA applicants disregard those directives.

3. Anyways, visit the new website (AVITS),

Create a ticket'' option in your scheduling account on usvisaappt.com. and send your MRV payment receipt alongside with a brief explanation to the help-line. They will send you the link to book your appointment.

I'm not sure if it's different for everyone. After the initial scheduling for my mum's appointment, it indicated we had 3 reschedule attempts left. I have rescheduled her twice and she still have one left.

Yeah, I was shocked too because all earlier dates (September 2024/ October 2024) I was trying to pick was coming back as error messages. I kept trying every day, and by luck after numerous tries, it worked.

I rescheduled her 2 days ago.
