He lived and died for his people and faith. He was martyed at his desk working in his office for his people.
Let us hope and see if his matyrdom will bring peace to the middle east.
He chose to live and stay among his people. Now the world can see that he did not flee to hide in a bunker like cowards.

nedekid: Oga over time you will realize sometimes you keep your advice to yourself. Tomorrow when the guy is not doing well, his story will be that he would have been successful if one friend (out of bad belle) adviced him not to sell land and invest in one business like that, he will say all those that went ahead to invest are now rich like dangote. Lol Omo, till tomorrow, my mama de talk say na me advice am not to use her boys quarters start school on a small scale 25 years ago, say by now she would have had a conglomerate of schools. One the other hand, when I wanted to do large scale fish farming, land in ayobo was 250k, I wanted to buy multiple plots as my friends were doing for their farming. Omo my old man adviced me not to waste money, say make I do the farm for him large compound, where he had excess unused space. Omo fish farming was a desaster, guess what, those my friends sold their land with the structures for millions of naira years later, as for me, my empty concret fish pounds was used to store pigs, later destroyed and a building built on the land. I come de regret why I take the advice, if it was a friend that advised me and not my papa, heavy blame would have been on that guy. it's okay |

Selling ones inheritance is not bad but what u intend to use the money for is the problem He wanted to try a business out simply because they told him it's lucrative and he no prior experience in it. |

Out of 4, he can sell two only if he has a good business idea he wants to use the money to start up..he can give 1 to a developer with agreement to take the property after 20yrs, then keep one land for himself
He can sell two,use the money to develop one, rent it out okay |

as69: Same boat as OP. Inherited absolutely nothing in terms of land, property, money. My parents did their best but they were also starting from zero and honestly just surviving.
But ahmedio2017 made a point that hit me — my parents paid school fees consistently. Never missed a term even when things were tight. That is actually worth something. Not everyone gets that. So I can't say zero.
Fisiryorh said something important though — the goal now is to break the cycle. I think about that a lot. Whatever I build, I want my own kids to start from a better position than I did. Doesn't have to be property necessarily, it can be good education, connections, skills. Just give them a head start.
As for OP's friend — now that you've explained he wants to use the money to jump into a business he knows nothing about, your advise was actually correct lol. Land appreciates. A business you dont understand will disappear. Classic Nigerian story — someone hypes a "lucrative" opportunity, brother sells asset, loses everything within a year.
That said, if he had a proper plan with the money and understood what he was getting into, selling 1 out of 4 plots wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. It's the "they said it's lucrative" part that is the red flag.
Those of us who inherited nothing honestly grind differently sha. Theres something that happens to your mentality when you know nobody is coming to bail you out. Well my parent tried their best anyways.. Sadly they couldn't see me through tertiary level.. All they left me were memories, there prayers, morals and I've glad for all they did while they were here... |

ChybuzzDD: Why did you advise him not to sell because he has a long way to go?? What if he needs the money to get himself established and make the long way easier and less stressful for him? Your focus should have been on what he intends to use the money for. He wanted to invest in a business he knows nothing about .. They simply told him it's lucrative and he wants to plunge in |

Today a friend chatted me up and was seeking for advice if it's okay to sell 2 plots of land from the 4 he inherited from his father.. I told him not to sell it cos he is barely 30 and still have a long way to go..
It occured to me that I actually inherited nothing 😂 Everything I have , I've worked so hard for it. .I wondered would my life have been easier if I was left with anything? |

casualobserver: 1) focus on your goals and your success 2) money isnt everything but is essential. 3) dont chase money, dont put any girl on a pedestal dont lose your focus because of a woman, understand them for what they are. both will find you if you focus on yourself. 4) Nobody truly cares about you. so make your self happy and do what is best for you. 5) be kind but dont be too nice. 6) listen to your dad, he is the only man that wants you to be better than him. 7) always have options
have something to offer, nobody loves a man, you are "loved" for what value you add 9) marry a woman with your head not your heart 10) never marry a single mother or a daughter of a single mother. NEVER! 11) loyalty, trust honesty and integrity are very important. guard them religiously. 12) be wary of the company you keep. they go a long way to determine what you become in life. Valid points Unfortunately my father is no more. |
