In today’s world, evil has become deeply rooted. As individuals who believe in God, we must follow the path that He has set for us to survive. The devil is like a lion, constantly on the prowl, seeking to deceive and devour souls. Fortunately, God has provided us with the necessary armor to fight spiritual battles. To emerge victorious, we must remain steadfast in the truth. In Ephesians 6:14 stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place. In this discussion, I will be focusing on the armor of the Belt of Truth. The belt of truth is the first element in a Christian’s armor. But is perfect truth real? What is truth? Jesus defined Himself as “the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Jesus was asked by the Roman governor Pontius Pilate if He was indeed proclaiming Himself to be king, as the Jews claimed. He answered that He came to bear witness to the truth. “For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice”. Jesus is the truth and truth enables us to stay on the right path while following God.” These are three ways in which the bible teaches us that truth can have a transformative effect on our lives. The Truth will set you free The commonly quoted bible phrase “The truth will set you free” means that honesty and truthfulness can bring freedom from guilt and fear. Telling the truth liberates us from guilt and strengthens relationships. If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:31-32). By abiding by the truth, God’s word, and the example set by Jesus Christ, we are set free from the heavy weight of sin and can continue on the path of obeying God’s commands. Being truthful enables you to be well-prepared Luke 12:35-36 Let your waist be girded and your lamp burning, and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately. Since the master is coming at an hour we don’t expect, telling the truth keeps us prepared at all times. The belt of truth gives us flexibility when we face challenges. We don’t need to redefine good and evil to make sense of things when the media brings attention to the newest social issue, we’re presented with a moral quandary in our own lives, or a friend asks for guidance in a difficult situation. God’s truth may be relied upon to indicate which way is up and which way is down so that we can proceed appropriately. The truth will lead you toward a safe path Christ is the way the truth and the life, if we allow Him to lead us, He will lead us to a safe path. The world is full of spiritual pitfalls and traps, and our adversary often tries to deceive us by calling evil good and good evil. They try to put darkness in place of light and light in place of darkness. (Isaiah5:20) and often disguises himself as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14. It is only when we follow Christ’s teachings and seek His guidance that we can overcome these obstacles and stay on the right path. When we follow the truth, we can see through deception and find the safe path provided by God. God used a belt as an illustration when speaking to the Israelites. Jeremiah 13:11 For as a belt is bound around the waist, so I bound all the people of Israel and all the people for my renown and praise and honor. But they have not listened. Just as the Israelites chose deceit and their disobedience caused the entire nation to fall apart, God will not compel you to choose truth over deception. Putting on the armor of God means committing ourselves to the truth and putting our faith in God to lead the path. “Can you please fasten the belt of truth?” Source: https://wordforlight.com/2023/11/24/the-belt-of-truth-the-armor-of-god/ |
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does. – Psalms 1: 1-3 There are certain things a godly man never does; there are places he is not seen; He does not take counsel from ungodly men nor make such people his advisers; He doesn’t waste his time sitting with mockers or those who bully people; He hates sin and shuns evil; But these are some of the features of the godly; He loves God’s word; he reads and feeds on it; He is honest and upright in all his ways; He is blessed in all seasons; his fruit doesn’t wither in heat or drought; Everything he does prospers; Be the godly man who hates evil, who hates discrimination, bribery, fraud, cheating and immorality. These things lead to sorrow; “There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.” – Isaiah 48:22 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. – Psalms 34: 12 – 14 Let us pursue love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, meekness, kindness, faith, self-control. James 1:22-25 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. God has provided us with his word as a guide to lead us towards a fulfilling life that pleases him. By putting his teachings into practice, we can draw closer to God and receive his blessings. Often, we fail to practice what we preach and forget the very words we’ve spoken, leading to destruction. However, obedience brings blessings. An illustration showcasing the practical implementation of the word. If you want a beautiful and loving family, it’s up to you to make it happen. If you desire a beautiful home, but keep arguing with your partner, that home you want will not come to fruition. Instead, you need to work together towards a harmonious relationship to achieve your goal. You must practice love and total devotion to God for it to occur.1 John 3: 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. Illustration 2 Deuteronomy 28:12 the Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. If you desire to become wealthy but don’t work, achieving that goal may not be possible. As the saying goes, “There is no food for the lazy man.” Therefore, you must put these words into practice by working hard towards your goal. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were blessed by God for their farming. 2 Thessalonians 3: 12 We command such people and urge them in the name of Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their living. It is important to note that God does not approve of individuals who exhibit laziness. It is important to dedicate time to studying God’s word, submitting yourself to it, and putting it into practice in your daily life. It is recommended to carefully examine and understand the teachings of the Holy Scriptures, surrendering yourself to their guidance and applying them in your actions, thoughts, and words. The Bible made it clear to us that we have an enemy(devil), his work is to move around looking for people he will devour. The enemy never gets tired because that is his work. The enemy’s plans are plain to the Christians who are discerning, his plans are stated in John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full. The plan of Jesus for us is to have life in abundant, that is why He gave us the authority to bind the enemy in the book of Matthew 16:19 I will give you the key of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loose in heaven. The authority has been given to us to bind the enemy; it is up to us to use the key. But first, you have to identify yourself with the master of the key JESUS for it to be effective. Weapons Used in Binding the Enemy The Word of God: Hebrews 4:12-13 for the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. When we are grounded by the word it’s easier to bind the enemy because nothing is hidden before God. The name of Jesus: There is power in the name of Jesus, Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. the same authority is given to us to bind the enemy in the name of Jesus. When you discern, that the enemy is trying to steal your joy, bind the chief in the name of Jesus Christ. When you discern, that the enemy is trying to interfere in your relationship, bind the destroyer in the name of Jesus Christ. When you discern, that the enemy is trying to bring sickness to your doorstep, bind the infirmity demons in the name of Jesus Christ. After you bind the enemy, be sure to loose the blessings of God. Never bind without loosing. Source: https://wordforlight.com/2023/11/05/635/ |
God Never Changes Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Our world is changing quickly. Everything, such as technology, medicine, and sales. even the way we pray. But Christians can find comfort in the fact that God never changes. People frequently change as a result of their circumstances, but God repeatedly assures us in His word that he does not change. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the same God who established the world and walked the sea. The same God who gave Moses the Commandments, told Joshua to lead the Israelites around the walls of Jericho, raised Lazarus from the dead, healed the blind, made the lame walk, and sent his only son to die for us, is also the same God who answers your prayers every day and cares for those who come to Him. These are some Bible verse that shows that God never changes. Malachi 3:6 For I the Lord do not change, therefore you, O children of Jacob are not consumed. Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 44:6 Thus says the Lord, the king of Israel and the redeemer, the Lord of hosts; I am the first and I am the last; besides me, there is no god. Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. God never changes: His purposes do not change. His character does not change. His truth does not change. God is already all-powerful and without flaw. He has no plans to rise to a higher status because there is none. God has not changed and will not change, so let’s find peace in that. We can base everything in our lives on what God says, who he is, and what he promises to do because he never changes. Source: https://wordforlight.com/2023/10/10/god-never-changes/

Unconditional Forgiveness Matthew 6:14-15 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. You often feel like taking revenge when someone hurts you or hurts someone you love. After all.. They were mean. They were selfish. They talked behind your back. They broke a vital promise. They lied about you. They criticized you. They ignored you. They did the unthinkable. They walked away. They ought to be punished, right? To experience some of that same suffering? They deserve a consequence that will not only help them learn but will be just as severe as the inflicted wounds. Being the father of all, God unconditional forgives those who come to Him with a sorrowful and repentant heart. For this reason, Paul writes in one of his letters to the Thessalonians. “See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.” 1 Thessalonians 5:15 NLT Paul’s words sound a lot like Jesus’ words—to love your neighbor as yourself; to do to others what you’d like them to do to you. (See: Matthew 22:38-40) God’s ways can be trusted but it might not always be easy, His ways are the best. When we choose unforgiveness, hate, anxiety, and bitterness will likely take root. But when we choose forgiveness (even though we might need to consider new boundaries), love, peace, and reconciliation can flourish. So, what about you? Have you ever been mean? Have you been selfish? Talked behind someone’s back? Broke a vital promise? Lied, criticized, ignored, or done the unthinkable? Have you ever decided to give up and walk away? In our unique-to-us ways, we’ve all let someone down. We’ve disregarded God’s instructions and, instead, created our instructions. We’ve messed up. We deserve God’s wrath but, instead, He’s offered us His unconditional love when we forgive others. Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Because of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice, we didn’t get what we deserved. And even while hanging on that cross, breathing His last earthly breaths, He cried out, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34) As Jesus showed love and mercy to us in return for our evil, let’s learn today to forgive those who have wronged us, even if they didn’t deserve it. holymike47:Yeah, love is indeed the greatest of all, we are living in a society where love is not been preached the way it should be, and if there is no love hate grows. Every Christian should ask themself this question am I keeping God’s commandments by loving my neighbors? |
