Do you mean that his off-the-mic episode with the current interior minister was inaccurate? Or what else about Akpabio is inaccurate on SM
JohnMo2: In the popular "Off your mic, Honourable Minister" video of Senator Akpabio during his days as Niger Delta Minister when he was being probed at the House of Representatives, Akpabio accused Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, then Chairman of House Committee on NDDC, now Nigeria's Minister of Interior, of corruption.
Latest paper trails in fact reveal that Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo may indeed be corrupt as alleged by Akpabio.

adenigga: Labour unions under the umbrella of the Joint Labour Movement in Osun State have commended the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for approving welfare packages for workers, particularly the payment of salary arrears.
A circular dated January 31, 2023, signed by Najeem Akintola on behalf of the Head of Service, Olaleye Aina, obtained Wednesday, stated that Adeleke had directed that the arrears of salaries and pensions from 2016 be paid immediately.
Following this, in a statement jointly signed by the state chairmen – Nigeria Labour Congress, Jacob Adekomi; Trade Union Congress, Adekola Adebowale, and the JNC, Lasun Akindele, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday, the labour leaders described the governor’s gesture as unprecedented.
The statement partly read, “The payment of salary arrears, contributory pensions and most importantly, outstanding deductions, will boost the morale of active public servants and renew the hope of retired officers.
“Therefore, the Labour Movement on behalf of the entire workers and retirees pledge our continued loyalty and support to your good government for this act of kindness which will definitely serve as a veritable drive for increased productivity of our dutiful members.”
adenigga: Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved payment of another batch of half salary debt alongside the state workers’ July salaries.
The spokesperson for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday noted that the latest payment was the third time Adeleke would pay the half salary debt in line with the template issued early in the year to pay the debt on a quarterly basis.
Rasheed recalled Adeleke had during the electioneering campaign promised to pay the salary debt on an instalment basis, adding that the administration had inherited about N26 billion in half salary debt and about N50 billion in pension-related debt from the previous government.
Adeleke, while commenting on the payment, reiterated his commitment to the faithful implementation of the template for the payment of the inherited salary debt.
The governor, who maintained that the template was a consensus among all stakeholders on how to exit the half salary rope, further said “I want to assure Osun workers that the payment is progressing as scheduled. Despite the tight fiscal situation, we are prioritising workers’ welfare by paying the inherited debt on an instalment basis.
“As a government of the people, by the people and for the people, we will remain focussed on human development even as we work to upgrade our infrastructure and develop our local economy. "

fergie001: As expected, APC & Ors appealed both judgements. That of the APP was filed 2/12/22 and that of the PDP in Jan 2023.
We deal with that of the APP here:
Now, the appellants in the image below, filed their motion on notice and even sought reliefs also cited below:
The Records of Appeal should ordinarily get to the Appeal Court in a maximum 60 days but OSSIEC argued that it was past 23 months and no record of appeal hence the appeal should be dismissed.
On 13/1/25, the lawyer for the appellants (APM & APC) admitted that he had not heard from his client since 2/12/2022. Hence, the appeal Court dismissed the Appeal, upholding the decision of the Federal High Court with all its consequential orders. (image 4)
The APC entered 9 Grounds of appeal; The Appeal Court formulated four questions for determination as stated in Image 3.
Summarily, on Issue 1: The Court held that the amended Originating Summons shouldn't have been allowed because it was incompetent. The Appeal Court also held that it was premature, as there was no reasonable cause of action.
The suit was filed July 2022, whilst then Governor Oyetola signed the bill on 1/8/22 and notices were published on 15/8/22, hence the Court had no jurisdiction whatsoever to have entertained a suit without a cause of action. It is the cause of action that births a RIGHT OF ACTION.
On Issues 3 & 4: Don't forget that Issue 4 is on the validity of the reinstatement of those officials.
The Court held that these issues were academic and they will not venture to go into it. (Image 4)
Now Issues 1 & 2 are in favour of the appellants, no cause of action, the trial Court was wrong to have granted leave for amendment of the OS.
Now Issues 3 & 4... How far? No judgement z no consequential order.. nothing
Let's not also forget, about the valid order in the APP issue already upheld by the Appeal Court and still EXISTING.

The PDP filed a suit before the Federal High Court, Osogbo on 27/7/22, challenging the planned abridgement of time for nomination/conduct of LG Elections. The PDP argued that it is not the duty of the Assembly to abridge the time as it is already encapsulated in the Electoral Act 2022, and doing so makes it inconsistent with Sections 29, 30 & 32 of the EA 2022 and also a previous Supreme Court Judgement on this.
However, the APC went on with the bill for abridgement and then Gov, Oyetola signed on 1/8/22. Thereafter, on 15/8/22, notices were published for LG election to be held on 15/10/22. The PDP sought the leave of Court to amend their Originating Summons which the APC argued they didn't have the jurisdiction, however the learned Judge upheld the arguments and allowed for amendment which took place in September 2022.
Parties to the suit filed by PDP were: OSSIEC, INEC, APC & Ors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the notices of 15/8/2022, another Political Party, APP filed a suit, also challenging the legality and otherwise of the abridged time and the LG Election.
Parties to the suit were: OSSIEC, INEC, APC, APM, APGA & Ors. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delivering Judgement on 25/11/22 on the PDP suit, the Federal High Court invalidated the election and sacked all elected LG Chairmen and Councillors with CONSEQUENTIAL ORDERS.
On 30/11/22, in the APP suit, the Federal High Court also invalidated the election with the same CONSEQUENTIAL ORDERS.
1. That the notice of election on 15/8/22 was invalid, illegal, unconstitutional, null and void.
2. That all elected LG Chairmen/Councillors vacate their Offices immediately.
3. That the bill for the abridgement of time for nomination/conduct of the election is thereby struck out. ------------------------------------------------------------ 2 separate Federal High Court Judgements sacked those LG Chairmen/Councillors in 2022.

jameshankss: Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has said he is sure the candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, would lose the 2023 presidential election. Soludo said he would not submit to the bullying of Obi’s supporters, who recently descended on him for addressing issues in the state.
The governor made the comments in a lengthy write-up personally authored, with the title, “History Beckons, and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1).”
Soludo said Obi was inadvertently making the pathway to victory much easier for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and at the same time, toying with the destiny of millions of Ndigbo.
But the chief spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, Yunusa Tanko, accused Soludo of being sponsored by some unknown persons to weaken the base of the party in the South-east.
The former CBN governor had been under intense attack for close to a week for dismissing Obi’s investment in the state as amounting to nothing, during a television interview.
Soludo said in the write-up, “My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the ‘investments’ Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra State revenues.
“Sadly, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on ‘investment’ that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and, therefore, committed a ‘crime’ for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment, even to my family.
“Everyone knows that I don’t follow the winds or one to succumb to bullies, or shy away from a good fight especially, when weighty matters of principles and future of the people are involved.”
Soludo said he had urged Obi to return to his former party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to actualise his presidential bid. He added that he had always told the LP candidate to his face that he was not capable of winning the 2023 presidential election, especially, under LP, which had neither a councillor nor a local government chairman.
Soludo said Obi was not just his friend, but also his brother, but despite that, they have their political differences.
He stated, “For full disclosure, let me state that Peter Obi and I are not just friends, we call ourselves ‘brothers’. But we have political differences: he left APGA for PDP after his tenure as governor, while I have remained in APGA since 2013.
“During the last two governorship elections in Anambra in 2017 and 2021, he led the PDP campaigns but APGA won landslide in both elections. By the way, in 2016, he visited and proposed that I defect to PDP and contest the 2017 election against the incumbent Willie Obiano, but I declined.
“After my victory in November 2021, he called to congratulate me, as I did to him in 2010. That is the Anambra way: we fight fiercely during campaigns but share drinks at the next social events. After all, it was the Great Zik of Africa, who taught us that in politics, there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies but only permanent interests.”
Arguing that Obi’s presidential bid would only work in favour of Tinubu, Soludo said, “Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign, because Obi is making Tinubu’s pathway to victory much easier by indirectly pulling down PDP.”
Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.
He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.
themanderon: What is the same tax doing in Nigeria if not lining up the pockets of the political class and supporting their ostentatious lifestyles?
Let us start with Lagos where increased taxes and budget for the last quarter have yielded nothing but misery, greater poverty and deprivation of basic services and utilities as well as infrastructure maintenance in the inner cities.
A Lagos State lawmaker, Mr Saka Fafunmi, on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the state Water Corporation.
Fafunmi, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), said in Ikeja that the corporation had not been able to justify statutory allocations to it.
The lawmaker, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the assembly, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that the corporation had the capacity to generate much fund internally through water rates but had relied solely on government funding because of poor performance.
'' Anyone that is using water will be willing to pay for it; the corporation has not been giving us water.
"Is there any new community that Water Corporation has given water? People depend on boreholes; even government estates have industrial boreholes.
"Why do we keep pumping money into an agency that does not give us the desired results?'' he asked.
He noted that the Adiyan Waterworks was located at Ifako-Ijaiye, where many of the residents had resorted to digging boreholes as a means of getting water.
''A lot of people are falling sick because they don't drink clean water.
''In the same compound, where you have sewage, is where you have a borehole.
''There is no way you can manage the sewage that it will not leak and pollute the water; everyone drinking such is drinking contaminated water,'' he said.
The lawmaker urged the corporation to increase water reticulation and supply to residents.

anonimi: The eyesore on Bourdillon Road 2nd January 2025
Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.
If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance. That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared that the sacked Osun State Local Government Chairmen and Councillors can’t force their way back into office because a substantive judgment of the Appeal Court has since sealed their fate.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, said this in a statement, in Abuja, on Monday.
He cautioned the affected local government political leaders to perish the thought of forcing themselves back into office as such will amount to a futile venture with dire consequences.
Ologunagba said, “The PDP also charges the All Progressives Congress (APC) to accept the reality and end its resort to self-help, misrepresentations, vituperations, violence and killing with the aim to trigger crisis and destabilize the State, having realized that it has irredeemably lost.
“The PDP asserts that the fate of the ousted Local Government Chairmen and Councilors was sealed by the Judgment of the Court to Appeal which nullified the unconstitutional attempt by the then Governor Gboyega Oyetola to illegally plant them as Local Government officers in the guise of an election.
“Having been roundly rejected by the people of Osun State in the Saturday, July 16, 2022, governorship election, the then Governor Oyetola and the APC ought to have known that attempting to side-step the laws and manipulate the process to illegally foist APC members and apologists as Local Government Chairmen and Counselors was an exercise in futility which was bound to fail ultimately.
“The APC is the architect of its misfortune. It should have known that disregarding and refusing to comply with the provisions of the Constitution and the Osun State Local Government Election Laws with respect to the requirement on notices, processes and procedures of conducting local government elections is destined to be fatal and irreparable.
“We counsel the Osun State APC to stop playing to the gallery by trying to bring in the exulted office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria into disrepute by hopelessly dropping the President’s name at public spaces in their desperate but pathetic and unrealizable attempt to garner undeserved sympathy.
“The APC should note that our nation operates a federal system of government with clearly entrenched devolution of powers among the federating units as well as the various sub-national tiers of government.
“It should therefore desist from the fruitless attempt to drag President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government into the issue of local government election which, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), is within the purview of the State and has no connection whatsoever with the Federal Government.”
The PDP further said, “If the APC believes that it is truly popular in Osun State as it claims, it should rather get ready for election as already scheduled by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) instead of holding unto an imaginary strand of straw and instigating violence and killings in the State.
“Our Party strongly condemns the violence and killing of some youths today by APC thugs and calls on the Inspector General of Police to hold APC leaders in Osun State responsible and bring them to book for this heinous crime.
“The PDP calls on the people of Osun State to remain calm, law-abiding and get ready for the Local Government Election as they continue to support Governor Ademola Adeleke in his outstanding delivery of monumental life-enhancing projects and programs in the State.”

dre11: Joining APC Makes the Brain Stop Working’ and 4 More Daniel Bwala Anti-Tinubu Remarks
There are three things in the world that deserve no mercy: hypocrisy, fraud, and tyranny. – Frederick William Robertson
Daniel Bwala, a staunch critic of President Tinubu, his administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been seen frolicking with the President in recent days, which has infuriated the public.
For his past statements against the APC, Bwala, who was a spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council during the 2023 elections, has now drawn backlash.
He was an APC member until he defected to the PDP in 2022. He would later cite the ruling party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket as the reason for his exit.
While announcing his decision on X on July 10, 2022, Bwala wrote: “Tonight I officially resigned my membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear. At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.”
There are now speculations that he may return to the APC. He held a meeting with President Tinubu on Wednesday “to show appreciation and support for the bold decisions he is taking to deal with the crisis confronting [the] country”, and he revealed that he would support Tinubu without apologies, even if it meant going back to the APC.
Amid ongoing controversies surrounding Bwala’s recent interactions with the President, FIJ revisits five times in the past when he criticised the APC-led administration.
‘EVEN IF YOU GIVE TINUBU 30 YEARS, NOTHING WILL WORK‘
On December 25, 2023, Bwala expressed scepticism about President Tinubu’s ability to deliver within his four-year term. He argued that waiting for significant changes under Tinubu’s administration might not be feasible.
Bwala said, “When people talk about being patient and waiting, you have to look at the time frame the public officer is expected to execute the work. The President has just been voted into a term of four years. He is eight months into the term, which constitutes 31.8 percent of the total time that he has. He has less than 70 percent time in government; when is that going to happen? When President Buhari took over in 2015, it was the same language, and we patiently followed and he finished the first term and finished the second term. When there is a fundamental problem with policy, time is irrelevant; 30 years, it will not work.”
‘TINUBU’S CABINET MEMBERS WON’T PERFORM MORE THAN 15%‘
In August 2023, Bwala said that the cabinet members appointed by Tinubu would not perform beyond 15 percent because the President seemed more focused on politics than governance.
“I feel that when it comes to the number of ministers, he (Tinubu) was more particular about politics than governance. The number of governors in the cabinet and the portfolios assigned to some individuals were purely political. I don’t have an expectation of a performance that is going to be beyond 15 percent, looking at the cabinet members,” he said.
‘TINUBU IS PRESIDENT-SELECT, NOT PRESIDENT-ELECT’
In May 2023, Bwala said Tinubu was the ‘president-select’, and not the ‘president-elect’. He said Tinubu was selected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as their preferred candidate.
His words: “Now we are in court to say that it was a rigged process. As long as there is no final determination of the matter, we have every right under law, equity and justice to hold the opinion that we express that he is a president-select and not a president-elect.”
‘THE PDP CLEARLY WON THE ELECTION BUT APC RIGGED IT‘
Following the 2023 presidential polls, Bwala said his party won the election and alleged that the APC rigged it to emerge as the winner.
Bwala, who disclosed this in an interview with Arise TV in March 2023, said, “We clearly won. In fact, if these results were allowed to be read from the result sheet, we won with over 1 million vote. Nigerian people voted PDP as the winner of this election, but history and posterity is the one that will judge.”
‘JOINING APC MAKES THE HUMAN BRAIN STOP WORKING’
Bwala made a post on X in November 2022: “The human brain is unique and miraculous. It works and functions optically 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, until you join APC, then it stops working.”
Since his post resurfaced on Thursday amid his unabashed declaration of support for the APC, Bwala’s cognitive abilities have been questioned by Nigerians.
An X user with the handle @chymaker wrote, “His brain stopped working.”
Another X user @Morris_Monye, wrote, “There’s something wrong with this man’s brain.”
“Your brain didn’t take that long to stop working. Either you forgot to go for an annual checkup or your network is not as strong as you think. Whatever the case is, learn to clean your mouth,” wrote @Gary_Mazi

Do most black employers not treat their workers worse than the bold part? Or even our local slave owners like Madam Tinubu?
Do you think that T-Pain adopted Tinubu name deliberately?
anonimi: The often cited biography titled Madame Tinubu: Merchant and King-maker, authored by Nigerian historian Oladipo Yemitan, paints her views regarding slave trading.
On one occasion, during her final sojourn in Abeokuta, she was alleged to have sold a young boy into slavery and was accused of it. When arraigned before Ogundipe Alatise over the matter, she reportedly explained: 'I have a large house-hold and I must feed them well. I need money to do that, that's why'.
— Oladipo. Yemitan, 'Madame Tinubu: Merchant and King-maker'
Another section of Yemitan's Tinubu biography, referred to as the Amadie-Ojo Affair, captures a slave trading deal gone sour in 1853 (notably after the 1852 Treaty abolishing slavery in Lagos) wherein Tinubu tells another slave trader (Domingo Martinez) that "she would rather drown the slaves [20 in number] than sell them at a discount".

Bunch of hypocrite
A hypocrite tribalist is pointing rotten fingers at others for being racist. What a wonderful day it is Meanwhile when your hypocrite tribesman head is rational enough, you can slowly go through the comment below.
Sheuns: Which outshine? Which African player in the Serie A now had the type of impact Samuel Eto’o had when he was in Inter?
Truvelisback: Italian league and the envy of the success of African players especially Nigerian players are like conjoin twins. Once you outshine their white players, they would do anything they can to pull you down out of envy.
So why are blacks still playing in the Italian league
seunmsg: To our own Ademola Lookman, we stand by you fully at this difficult time. No player should be disrespected the way and manner your coach did yesterday. You’re Africa’s best and shouldn’t be treated like trash. Whatever your decisions are, the rest of the world are supporting you.
In your tribesman balablu empty barrel blabbing you missed this part?
Addressing the penalty miss directly, Lookman explained that the designated penalty taker instructed him to take the spot kick, and he accepted the responsibility to support the team in that moment.

His paymasters that were helped into office by Pandora Bitter Obi’s naïveté and cluelessness
jameshankss: Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has said he is sure the candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, would lose the 2023 presidential election.
ValNwachi75: The AG is right in this case based on the autonomy granted the LGAs by the constitution and ratified by the Supreme court.
But herein lies the problem - when the executive set a precedence by disregarding the constitution and court judgements, it’s bound to set up a ripple effect. So, this is the outcome of the flagrant abuse of the rule of law by the executive. When the executive bring home an ant-infested wood, they should not complain when lizards begin to pay them visit.
Why have Fagbemi and his boss failed to make payments directly to the LGAs since the Supreme Court judgement last year
