Celebrities › Re: Simon Cowell Says Lady Gaga And Beyonce Are The Most Boring Singers In The World by anonymous6(f): 7:21pm On Sep 30, 2011
@Tee Jay
"but surely Simon cowell is entitled to his own opinion whether right or wrong!"

everybody is entitled to their opinion, I am not against him at all stating his opinion but sometimes people need to face the consequences of their opinions at the same time

"
But, according to Radar Online, Simon Cowell has set the record straight with them, and claims he never slammed either singer! A rep for Simon Cowell told the gossip site: “This was completely misreported. It’s the complete opposite in fact,” adding that “Simon is a massive fan of both and he always refers to them as amongst the artists he most admires. He thinks they are two of the most interesting, talented and relevant artists today.”
While Simon’s rep set the record straight, Simon Cowell also had some comments of his own as he told Radar Online that Beyonce is “the biggest star we’ve seen in 20 years; we’re seeing sort of the rise of the super female pop star,” while Lady Gaga he referred to as “having The X Factor” and “a total, utter star.” What do you believe? We know that Simon Cowell can be harsh sometimes, but something tells us that he did not bash either of these two ladies"

well if that is the case who ever reported the story owes Simon a apology as far as I am concerned

Celebrities › Tony Bennett Says Amy Winehouse Knew She Wasn't Going To Live by anonymous6(op): 5:37pm On Sep 30, 2011
"Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart quizzed the man currently busting records with the Number One LP in the country -- Tony Bennett, whose Duets II makes him the oldest living artist to top the Billboard album chart -- about his latest collaborators. "Who sucked?" Stewart asked. Bennett refused to slag his duet partners, replying, "They were all wonderful. These are the most important, most popular young artists today."

Of course, Stewart was most interested in one singer in particular -- not Lady Gaga, but Amy Winehouse, whose death has brought a ton of attention to the disc since her contribution, "Body and Soul," marks her final recording. Bennett retold the now-familiar story of how the 27-year-old singer was apprehensive in the studio until he complimented her by comparing her style to vocal great Dinah Washington. And he made a more shocking revelation:

"Well, she was in trouble at that time because she had a couple of engagements that she didn't keep up," Bennett said of Winehouse. "But what people didn't realize at that time, that she really knew -- in fact, I didn't even know it when we were making the record, now looking at the whole thing -- she knew that she was in a lot of trouble, that she wasn't gonna live. And it wasn't drugs, it was alcohol, toward the end, you know."

Bennett's observation that Winehouse was no longer addicted to drugs but continued to struggle with alcohol is in line with her family's assertion that "there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death." The coroner's full investigation into the singer's July 23rd death is due next month; Winehouse's father has claimed she died after suffering a seizure from alcohol withdrawal.

Bennett also tried to contextualize Winehouse's contributions to the music world, explaining why she had appealed to him so much despite her troubles. "It's such a sad thing because, since Elvis Presley and the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and the whole contemporary change that came in, she was the only singer that really sang what I call the right way," he mused. "Because she was a great jazz-pop singer. She was a great jazz singer. A true jazz singer.""
