Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji Vs Mercy Johnson by anonymous6(f): 7:59pm On Sep 08, 2011
The author ask a good question but currently Genevieve wins over Mercy Johnson but Mercy is not that far behind and she has a chance of surpassing Genevieve in the near future; personally I don't see it though, I see other actresses taking Genevieve's place in the future but not Mercy though.

Celebrities › Re: 'desmond Eliot', Where In Nigeria Is He From? by anonymous6(f): 12:50pm On Sep 08, 2011
To tell you the truth I always thought Desmond Elliot was igbo all the way & he is a good actor, his name influenced it but because based on his character and the way he acts, he seemed to have the mentality or persona of a igbo man; it was until I was corrected on this forum that his father is Yoruba that I found out he was half Yoruba but to be real many Yoruba's don't really know him because many don't watch the English Nollywood industry but Yoruba Nollywood industry(or if they do not so much), and the only one they are aware about that is Yoruba even though she hasn't been in many Yoruba movies in Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, and her name helps them realize it but when they do find out or even know who he is as a actor they don't call him Yoruba, many people that do know who he is as a actor think he is igbo(I know it's assumption but they assume that because of the way he acts is similar to igbo men; It's not a bad thing I'm just being real here). To me I think he is mixed now but has the persona of a igbo man & his wife is not even Yoruba or igbo, so I don't think it's fair to call him just Yoruba. When I think of Yoruba men I think of Yinka Quadri, Taiwo hassam, Mr. Latin(stage name), Jide Kosoko and etc not Desmond Elliot(he doesn't have the persona of a Yoruba man). So I disagree with Tpia, many Yoruba's will not just look a him as solely Yoruba but mixed, especially behind closed doors. I know a family like that and both my parents & the Yoruba's I know call them igbo or mixed but not solely Yoruba(even though the Yoruba side is from the paternal side of the family).

Celebrities › Re: Apologize To Van Vicker Or Don’t Come To Ghana Movie Directors Warns Tonto Dikeh by anonymous6(f): 9:12pm On Sep 06, 2011
@ Ricky Ross
I agree with you 100%, It's time Nigerians help Nigerians which I am seeing signs Nigerians(ex. Nollywood) are getting it the hard way and by force now. I don't hate Ghanians and I actually have many Ghanian friends but when it comes to this issue enough is enough. That charging of Nigerian actors/actresses and banning Nigerians from shooting in Ghana, I read about it as well; and I was disappointed. From what I read  they must have been planning it for a long time, so when Nigeria retaliated back(Ghana got the message) & I was happy because I felt it was a wake up call, the wake up call Nollywood needed to tell them that they are on their own and start taking care of their own. I read some where that Nollywood will no longer be bringing talent outside Nigerian any more as a result of that fiasco(ex. Joseph benjamin is a fresh new talent from Nigeria, so i guess we will see more after him; Nigeria is 150 million in population, so they can't say there is no talent at all in our own back yard, come on). To be brutally honest I think this is a excuse for Ghanian directors to start a fight with Nollywood by using Van Vicker, but I don't think it will fly because they had nothing to do with it, neither did Nollywood; this issue is about character and human behavior & Tonto failed. If Ghanian directors really hate what she did, they should have expressed it through Nollywood(and both figure out what they should do about her behavior), especially when many ghanians have criticized Van Vicker over the years over his loyalty to Nollywood over Ghollywood, so why are they so in a hurry to defend him, did he send them a letter to help him in the fight he had with Tonto?  undecided

that's her problem, although I don't think Ghana Movie directors have anything to do with it, this is between Tonto and Van Vicker; if it was against a Ghana movie director then I would agree with their sentiment but besides that it's really non of their business. We all know Tonto acted like a fool and Van Vicker acted like the better person here. This will not be the last of many crazy antics we will hear from Tonto with other actors and actress whether towards Ghanian/Nigerian actors and actresses. At the same time there needs to be a lesson learnt or karma on Tonto's end, and if this is the only way her thick head will get it that you shouldn't act NUTTS socially then so be it but I don't think it should be Ghollywood only, Nollywood should get involved (OR IT WILL TURN INTO A GHANA vs NIGERIA nonsense); that's when CRAZY TONTO THE GREAT WILL GET IT

Health › Kanazawa's Study On Black Women Having Higher Testosterone Levels Is Incorrect? by anonymous6(op): 6:07pm On Sep 06, 2011
There was a psychologist months ago by the name of Satoshi Kanazawa who published a failed study that Black women are less attractive then non-black women because of higher testosterone levels then non-black women, which caused a uproar and anger: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1388313/LSE-psychologist-Satoshi-Kanazawa-claims-black-women-attractive.html

it was later debunked as being a failed study because of many factors, including the fact that it isn't true that Black women have lesser levels of estrogen then non-black women but the truth is Black women have the same levels of estrogen as non-black women:

1. What are your thoughts?
2. what is your opinion of people that use health claims that are false as a attempt to explain their opinion and sometimes racist opinions on race?
