Over 400k as school fees in a federal government university in South West, this is crazy.
The school management should take into some things into consideration, although I know that the budget they get from the federal government on education has dwindled over the years

Osimeh should just go to Saudi if he is particular about money.

After all the reason why he is playing is because of money.

If napoli relegate him to reserve, both parties will lose.

Those who know how many lives that have been lost to this menace in Uniben, Esut, NAU & delta state universities alone will relate better!

In fairness to the truth, Soyinka caused more harm than good to the country called Nigeria.... Fact !!!

I quite disagree with you because the ideology behind it when woke Soyinka and Co founded cultism was against oppression.
Overtime it changed to what we have now and it is a sad situation
I don't support cultism in any form.

36STATES:
Some Nigerian pastors, particularly those promoting prosperity gospel like certain RCCG pastors, engage in deeply unethical practices. They often ignore the deceptive actions of their leader, Adeboye, who has built a reputation on falsehoods and manipulation.

Despite being in his 80s, he continues to mislead his followers, claiming they'll go to hell if they don't pay tithes. As a billionaire, he preys on the vulnerable—those who are barren, sick, unemployed, disabled, or suffering from cancer—exploiting their hopes with promises of miracles that never materialize.

In one tragic case, my uncle, who was a member of RCCG was told that his son’s mental health struggles were due to insufficient tithing. Desperate, he increased his contributions threefold and selling some properties, but nothing changed. Sadly, my cousin ultimately took his own life.

My deepest condolences.

Most pentecostal Churches in this part of the world are scammers.

MemoriesAndMe:

Have you ever traveled out of Nigeria before? If you have and you have returned to Nigeria from your trip, you'll understand the guy did the right thing.

Of all the airports I've been to around the world, Nigerian airports are the most frustrating ones. Everyone there is a beggar. Even to use the toilets there, there's someone waiting there to beg. The immigration officers I've ran into, including NDLEA officials will sometimes be up to 20, each of them demanding for money as if they don't get paid their salaries.

You asked how will the immigration thief's kids a d family feel if they see this official this way, it's same way the travelers' kids and family feel whenever they see full grown and employed civil servants, expected to be professionals, begging their parents and family members at airports and the image they portray the country in.

Did you read about the news of a young teenager that flew to Nigeria for the first time from Europe and the immigration officers at the airport took all his pocket money and left him stranded at MMA? Would you want that to happen to your child, relatives or yourself?

I'll record as many of them as possible and post them all on social media. Let them all be replaced by vibrant youths with respect for their jobs and their nation's respect.

You just can't be begging for money from every Tom, Dick and Harry because you're working at the airport. It's annoying.

One chilled green bottle for you. You are so spot on. 👍🏿

Business / Re: CBN Threatens To Penalise Banks Rejecting Mutilated Naira Notes by anthropizzy(m): 7:50am On Jul 06
CBN is the architect of this problem because they do charge banks for changing mutilated naira notes.
However can't banks bear the cost? Must Nigerian banks transfer aggression to their customers? After all Nigerians banks do make huge profits.

This is true.

Northerners don't reject mutilated naira notes.

The day I went to Kano I was given a mutilated naira note has changed and I rejected it the Hausa guy looked at me strangely and asked where I was from and I told him, I am from Lagos.
He said over here they do not reject mutilated naira notes. I was shocked and I had to accept it

Payment of thithe is unbiblical! The mosaic law where the law of paying 10% of your earnings or thithes was permitted was phased out when Jesus arrived. Your pastor will never preach this. They prefer to keep the people in perpetual spiritual darkness and be milking them dry. Whatever money anyone wants to give his church should be absolutely voluntary. Not compulsory. Na so one woman take him husband car go sow seed for her pastor. The husband arrived from US and went and recovered his car! Pastor get University but members cannot afford the fees! If you obey there are blessings, if you disobey there are curses.

This issue of tithe, as a Christian you are obligated to it, if you attend a church that pays tithe, you should pay yours otherwise go to church that doesn't believe in tithe, for tithe is a strong instrument God uses to checkmate his blessings upon believers,READ MALACHI 3 VS 10-12. if you are committed tithe payer and you stopped, you are playing with disaster!.

Am a victim of tithe neglect, I stop paying tithe two years plus ago, my Business started going down gradually, without I noticing on time and totally forgot because my profit is times three I make in one transaction. Tragedy struck, hardship sets in, I couldn't believe what was on until I entered in to payer and fasting, no way out I contacted an envagelist who told me God has not revealed anything to him, and kept praying latter it was revealed in a manner that I haven't been
paying my tithe for two years plus, I rubbed God, I have submitted my self back to God for forgiveness, the little that is coming in I make sure I send it to church account still believing that God have compassion and show me mercy. As a Christian it is your duty to pay your tithe, as long as you worship in a church that observe the practice of paying tithe for your own good.

What about non Christians that own business and they don't pay tithe, their business flourish.
What you believe in will work for you irrespective of your faith.

LoL. You pay tithe, supposedly to God, and then ask the pastor to give a monthly account of how the 'tithe' is being spent. It's the arrogance for me. Imagine a human being demanding that God should give account of the money he gives Him!

Tithe is supposed to be a holy gift you give with faith that it is God you are giving it to after blessing and sanctifying it. You don't have to give if you don't believe in it. You don't have to give if you don't believe it's God you are giving to.

Asking God to account for what you give to Him sounds sacrilegious

Are you paying the money to God directly?

Paying tithe is a scam.

God doesn't need your money because he does not spend it. Human being like you spend the money

OGA, NA WETIN JESUS TALK I DE FOLLOW OOO. JESUS NEVER SPOKE ABOUT TITHE. EVEN WHEN IT COMES TO GIVING, JESUS SAID IT SHOULD NOT BE WITH FORCE OR PERSUASION BUT WE AAN OPEN AND CLEAN MIND. JESUS NEVER COLLECTED TITHE NOR OFFERINGS, EVEN WHEN HE WITNESSED CHURCH OFFERINGS, HE TOLD THEM THAT ONLY ONE POOR WOMANS OFFERING WILL HIS FATHER BE DELIGHTED WITH AND SHE GAVE THE LEAST. BUT MY OWN NA SAY I AM NOT AGAINST TITHES AND CO BUT THOSE SO-CALLED BILLIONAIRES ARE INQUIRING ABOUT HOW IT WAS SPENT, THEN THEY NEVER GAVE IT WILLINGLY AND WITH OPEN MIND. SO ITS USELESS TO GOD BUT NOT TO MAN

Those Christian churches(catholics, Anglican etc) that are accounting for donated money are doing the wrong thing?
It is not a bad thing if accountability is being summoned.
People have right to question how they spend the money.
I am happy that Nigerians are now waking up.

Most pentecostal churches in Nigeria are money making ventures

Did I say so? Your response alone shows the problem with Nigerian graduates. Your English comprehension is poor.

Of course they will employ Nigerian graduates but there are graduates that are deployed to the less career progressive parts of the business and there are those that are deployed to the star roles. They are not going to send a graduate from Oxford or LSE to mundane roles. The minute the are employed they are seen as future CEOs with international connections from their universities, they are groomed as such. You on the other hand have to prove yourself.

Secondly, a firm like IBTC will get the best of the Nigerian graduates. I never said all Nigerian public university graduates are bad. What I also said is that there are certain public universities that will never make it into a company like IBTC.

Dear nairalander,

If I have a person like you in my talent resources team I will redeploy you out of that department with immediate effect because you have this condescending attitude towards Nigerian universities most especially lower-tier universities.

I have seen someone that graduated from a university in England and he knows nothing. A graduate from lasu dusted him.

You are part of those who believe that everything foreign is better than our own indigenous. There are brilliant minds in lower-tier Universities so therefore I will consider them and give them a chance, not all are dullards. They have brilliant minds.

In summary, not all graduates who finished at top-ranked Universities are brilliant while there are brilliant minds in lower-ranked Universities.

Oga I am telling you the reality. Life is not about what is fair, life is about what happens in reality. When you advertise for a job, you get many CVS, hundreds sometimes thousands, nobody has time to look through all of them. You need to give an employer a reason to stop and even read your CV.

If it is a computer that is sifting through your CV, it is looking for key words. If it is a human, the 2 things that will make him a recruiter to read your CV are the university you attended and/ or your class of degree. If a university has a good reputation, I will stop to read the CV, if it has a bad reputation or I have encountered a graduate from that University that turned out to be a quack, the next time I see that university, I won’t even read it except I see 1st class.

This is why sometimes when you apply for the best jobs at the best companies they don’t even reply because your Cv was not even read. Say you apply for a job at one of the top law firms in the country, the law firms know which Nigerian universities have goodie the best law programs. You are also competing with people who went to Cambridge , LSE, Oxford as well as 2nd tier UK universities like Coventry, Sheffield, surrey etc. so when you send your Cv with Michael Okpara university, it will never get read. Among Nigerian universities, the guy from LASU or Unilag, UI or Covenant will be always be ahead of you. It is only the jobs where these graduates do not apply to that your Cv may get a looked at. Even then you better have a 1st class.-

This is how recruitment works in the real world even abroad. You either go to the best schools or you try and get noticed by having a 1st class. As far as talent, sometimes you are not employed for your talent but for your connections.

Thank you for your detailed breakdown analysis.

However, my point of view still stands.

There are many like that. Some even earn lower.

Do you know that some graduate teachers earn 50k as a salary for being a school teacher?
