The Bible reveals that there are TWO treasures whose value is described as being above rubies. They are not material possessions, wealth, or earthly achievements, but divine gifts that have the power to shape the course of a man's life.


1 The wisdom of God

Job 28:18 declares that, "... the price of wisdom is above rubies". God's wisdom enables a man to make sound decisions, avoid costly mistakes, discern the right path, and live according to His purpose. Wisdom is the foundation of lasting success because it teaches a man how to handle relationships, finances, career, family, and every other aspect of life. A man who walks in God's wisdom is preserved from many unnecessary sorrows.

2. A virtuous wife

Proverbs 31:10 asks, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." A virtuous wife is one of God's greatest gifts to a man. She is trustworthy, supportive, industrious, prayerful, and committed to the well-being of her family. Such a woman brings peace into her home, strengthens her husband, and contributes significantly to his success and fulfilment. Her value cannot be measured by physical beauty or material wealth but by her godly character.


My advice to every young man is this: pay the price to obtain these two priceless treasures. Seek God's wisdom diligently through His Word, prayer, and obedience. At the same time, be patient and prayerful in choosing a life partner, placing character above beauty, virtue above appearance, and godliness above worldly attractions.

Many men spend years pursuing money, fame, and possessions while neglecting wisdom and making careless marital decisions. Yet wealth without wisdom often leads to ruin, and success without the right spouse can become a burden rather than a blessing.

If, by God's grace, you acquire His wisdom and marry a virtuous woman, you will have a strong foundation for a life marked by peace, stability, fulfilment, and lasting prosperity. Challenges may still come, but you will possess the divine resources needed to overcome them.

Invest your life in pursuing what God values most. The treasures that are priced above rubies will produce rewards that neither money nor status can ever buy.

My kids go to private schools and compared to the public schools around these schools offer quality holistic education. Some of the teachers have been there for a decade and over positioning themselves as models of quality professionals.
