3 Yet when Peter Obi or Labour Party supporters are in the hot seat, that same energy disappears. The probing questions soften, interruptions are rare, and his interviews take on a noticeably friendlier tone. Tough journalism shouldn’t depend on party colour.

6 Rufai often positions himself as a neutral umpire demanding “empirical facts.” Yet when allegations were made about his proximity to certain politicians (which Peter Obi denied), Rufai didn’t give himself the same rigorous on-air scrutiny he demands from others.
