Nnamdi Kanu Expresses Sadness Over The “Sacrilegious Killings” In South East, Says “Sit-At-Home” Order Is Senseless As Soludo Visits Him In Prison

Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo wrote in a statement on his Official Facebook page: “I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, (Friday, 13th May, 2022) to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East.

He was in very high spirits and we had quality and frank discussion in a very convivial atmosphere.

“He expressed sadness over what he described as “sacrilegious killings” of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless “sit at home” perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB.

He assured that if the opportunity arises, he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain the peace.

Politics / Re: Supreme Court Sacks Victor Oye As The National Chairman Of APGA. by apga: 8:43am On May 11, 2022
BigBills:
Breaking News!

Supreme court sacks Victor Oye as the National Chairman of APGA.

AIF Media

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has just reviewed its judgement which it earlier gave on October 14, 2021. In the said judgement, the Supreme court delivering ruling on the appeal filed by Mr Jude Okeke against the judgement of the Appeal court, Kano division stated that the removal of Ozo Victor Oye was not justiceable. That it was the internal affairs of the party and thereby struck out the appeal.

It was on this basis that INEC recognized Oye and allowed accepted Prof Soludo as the candidate of the party for November 6, Anambra state governorship election.

But yesterday, the Supreme court sat again to review the judgement. Chief Edozie Njoku had written to the Supreme court demanding a review of the judgement on the grounds that it was not Oye but him, that was removed by the Jigawa state high court which was challenged at the appeal court Kano.

Chief Njoku told the Supreme court that Oye was a mere interloper who sought to join the appeal and should have been mentioned in page 13 of the judgement as the national chairman of APGA.

The supreme court in its wisdom sat yesterday and reviewed the judgement. The 5 man panel agreed that that it was an injustice to have mentioned Oye as the national chairman of APGA.

They therefore reviewed the judgement, corrected the error and inserted the name of Chief Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA.

AIF Media has the Certified True Copy of the reviewed judgement. We shall update you shortly. For more info

Ozonkpu Dr Victor Oye remains the authentic and undisputed chairman of APGA.

Politics / Victor Oye: Supreme Court Never Sat, Let Alone Sack Me As APGA Chairman by apga: 8:37am On May 11, 2022
PRESS RELEASE

The attention of our great party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been drawn to an utterly false and fictitious story making the rounds wherein the Supreme Court purportedly reviewed its judgment delivered on the 14th day of October, 2021 dismissing the appeal brought by one Chief Jude Okeke against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division. In the said ludicrous story which has now gone viral on various social media platforms, the apex court was reported to have ‘coronated’ one Chief Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA.

We wish to state that contrary to the wishful thinking of the naysayers, no such decision was delivered by the Supreme Court on the 9th day of May, 2022 or on any other date. It is on record that the Supreme Court in SC. 686/2021 merely held that the dispute over the National Chairmanship of APGA is not justiciable and is not within the jurisdiction of the Court. The apex court in making that statement merely mentioned Edozie Njoku as the name utilized by the Plaintiff in Birnin Kudu as the National Chairman of APGA who was purpotedly removed to pave way for Chief Jude Okeke. The Kano Division of the Court of Appeal, whose judgment was affirmed by the Supreme Court, clearly stated that the Jigawa High Court had no jurisdiction to entertain the suit and thus set aside the Birnin Kudu judgment alongside the consequential orders made therein.

We wish to categorically state that by holding that the trial Court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the suit ab initio, the Supreme Court could not have made any positive orders to enure in favour of Chief Edozie Njoku or any other person whatsoever.

It’s on record that the Supreme Court in delivering its judgment aforesaid similarly dismissed the appeal brought by Chief Edozie Njoku against the ruling of the Kano Division of the Court of Appeal which dismissed his application to appeal as an interested party. It therefore beats any reasonable imagination how the Supreme Court would turn around to overrule itself after dismissing the grossly incompetent appeal filed by Edozie Njoku.

A careful perusal of the document presently bandied by Chief Edozie Njoku and his hirelings readily reveals that the judgment was against the said Chief Edozie Njoku whose media urchins are polluting the space with the fake news. The Supreme Court not only struck out the appeal as an abuse of Court process but awarded 1m naira cost against the Appellants.

Furthermore, the certified true copy of the Supreme Court judgment shows that Chief Victor Oye was the 2nd Respondent at the Supreme Court and was duly represented by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, Dr Onyechi Ikpeazu SAN, PIN Ikwueto SAN alongside others. However, in a poorly scripted fraudulent attempt to mislead the public, Chief Edozie Njoku’s name was inserted in the doctored judgment as the 2nd Respondent when Chief Edozie Njoku was not a party in the appeal at the Supreme Court. In any event, there are subsisting judgments of various superior courts of records that have made definite pronouncements on APGA leadership by affirming the May 31, 2019 National Convention of APGA held in Awka, Anambra State.

We wish to assure our party faithful and indeed the members of the public that there is no purported change whatsoever in the leadership of APGA. Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye remains the National Chairman of APGA and has not been removed by any court. The general public are therefore advised to ignore the false, fictitious and misleading story being peddled by the agents of distraction. Our great party is solely focused in the process of nomination of credible candidates that will deliver our country from its present state of underdevelopment.

Our great party has alerted the relevant security agencies to commence investigation towards the possible prosecution of those who may be found culpable in the forgery and mutilation of vital court judgments.

Politics / Easter: APGA Urges National Reconciliation, Genuine Commitment To Unity by apga: 7:30am On Apr 17, 2022
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on Nigerians to demonstrate true commitment to unity and shun all divisive tendencies threatening the national coexistence.

Chief Victor Oye, National Chairman of APGA made the call in his 2022 Easter message released to newsmen in Abuja.

Oye said Easter, which was a commemoration of suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, was another opportunity for all to take a look at their lives and their relationship with one another.

He said Jesus Christ laid down his life to reconcile humanity with God, so they could live in abundance.

Oye, said the prevailing political tension, insecurity and economic hardship were products of hatred, greed and mutual distrust, adding that it was time Nigerians talked to one another in the interest of our nation and its people.

According to Oye, I must thank God for sparing our lives and making us witness yet another Easter.

"I also want to congratulate Nigerians on the occasion of Jesus Christ's passion, death and resurrection. It is only for the grace of God that we are alive.

"On this occasion, I want to call for national reconciliation, we must jettison sectional and religious proclivities and talk to one another as Nigerians with true love, compassion and empathy with the aim of addressing our challenges.

"God loves this country. He is still interested in Nigeria, and our problems are not insurmountable, but He needs our cooperation, and we must show to ourselves, the type of love Jesus Christ showed to humanity," he said.

Oye called on Nigerians to embrace fairplay and tolerance instead of intimidation, brigandage and animosity to reign as the country goes into crucial election in 2023.

"Other political parties should learn from the peace, order and progress in APGA. Nigerians should look our way and vote our party massively in all elections because we have the solution to the myriad of challenges facing Nigeria," he said.

Politics / APGA Screening/primary: No Financial Inducements Of Any Kind by apga: 9:40am On Apr 12, 2022
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has warned all aspirants of the party not to induce anybody under whatever guise in the process leading up to the party primary.

In a press release today in Abuja the National Chairman of the party, Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye, expressed disappointment that some dubious characters had been going around wooing aspirants to part with their money in order to facilitate their screening and victory in the forthcoming primary of the party.

The release signed by the APGA National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Tex Okechukwu, advised all aspirants not to be hoodwinked by the antics of these desperadoes, but to spend their resources and time reaching out to the prospective delegates.

It stated unequivocally that any person(s) that allowed himself or herself to be deceived by the antics of these “criminally-minded middlemen” would have themselves to blame.

He assured that the screening and primary would be free, fair and credible as “this is the only way to build a united, progressive and all-inclusive political party”.

Politics / Soludo’s 10 Days In Office: Echoes Of Good Governance Spread Across The Niger by apga: 9:43pm On Mar 27, 2022
In every private or public institution, there is usually a need for periodic assessment of performance as well as appraisals of staff of those ‘ institutions. Good performance or good governance can be seen to be the accomplishment of a given task measured against present known standards. The results obtained should be adjudged accurate, complete etc. The performance of a governor in our present democratic dispensation is measured by the improvement of quality of life in the state during the period of his governance.

Good governance is not just about right decisions but also about the best possible process for implementing those decisions. It is also a subset of governance, wherein public resources and problems are managed effectively, efficiently and in response to critical needs of the society. As Richard Nixon puts it;” In politics and statecraft,” power means life or death, prosperity or poverty, happiness or tragedy, for thousands or even millions of people”.

In the light of this review, the Anambra state governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, who believes in accountability, credibility, creativity, responsiveness, transparency, participatory democracy, rule of law and government of equity and inclusion has in his first 10 days in office made laudable achievements in a number of areas.

Arguably, Charlie-Nwa Mgbafor is not a professional politician but an encyclopedia of knowledge and statecraft. God Almighty has blessed him with the knowledge of the financial and industrial ways and means of turning sand into gold. Just 10 days in office, his performance won him several nicknames like” The Solution Provider” “Problem solver”, “Workaholic governor”, “, Governor General of the south East”, “Governor _Umu ogbenye_” (Governor for the poor) and many accolades.

For instance, Soludo has been commended for achieving several things much faster than all his predecessors. He hit the ground running from day one. It is on the record that immediately after his swearing in as 6th democratically elected governor of Anambra state by the state Chief Judge, Hon Justice Onochie Manasseh Anyachebelu. He entered into his office to commence work immediately. He had meetings with first, security chiefs, then with permanent secretaries of various ministries and then with a special team of stakeholders from Okpoko and also made few appointments.

Soludo has made moves to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors and has already created an additional part to success by cutting down on the cost of governance and reiterated the commitment of the state to phase out the old method of revenue collection. By signing executive order banning touting in the state. The new method will leverage the use of technology and ensure that a large percent of government revenues from the source fully comes into government coffers for effective use.

SOLUDO, the man whose yes is yes has fulfilled one of his campaign promises by his ability to dismantle Onitsha, the commercial nerve center of the state especially Head bridge and Upper Iweka activities and excesses of street urchins, touts and hoodlums which for some years now portrayed Anambra in the negative perspective in the international community.

Soludo is also known for his no- nonsense stand to environmental violation. He has demonstrated his commitment to clean up Okpoko, one of the largest urban slums and other under developed areas of the state of its filthiness through efficient waste management system.

As a governor who listens to the cry of the masses and the vulnerable, Soludo has placed sanctions on illegal revenue collection by non-state actors who harass traders, transporters, artisans and business owners in Anambra state.

In the area of security, Charlie Nwamgbafor has made remarkable improvement as the IPOB/ESN have indicated their readiness to dialogue with South East governors, South South and Federal government once Soludo will lead the debate for peace and security in the zone. He has assured Ndi Anambra that adequate measures have been put in place for the commencement of Officials duties and economic activities on Mondays.

Soludo is indeed a revolutionist. His promotion of homemade products has rejigged the psyche of Nigerians. He promised to make Innoson vehicle being produced in Anambra State his vehicle as a Governor. And that he has done! This singular gesture triggered some ripple effects as the federal government made demands of Innoson vehicles shortly after Soludo’s proclamation. His Akwaete Revolution gained momentum across the Niger. On March 23rd, 2022 PDP governors were sited wearing the fabrics during their extra Ordinary Meeting at Abia.

He has shown that he is not nepotistic in his appointment. He believes in one Anambra, One people with one Agenda.

In conclusion, if these achievements can be recorded within his 10 days in office, then, there is no doubt that with the emergence of his commissioners and directors of agencies, Soludo is sure to bring all his campaign promises to reality and make a name in the history of Anambra State. It is therefore right to say that the best is yet to come in Soludo’s There is nothing anyone anywhere on earth or in heavens can do to stop the Echoes of the Soludo Solution from encompassing and elevating Anambra state, South East Zone and Nigeria as a whole. For it is settled in the highest heavens, the abode of the God Almighty.

I believe in Anambra

I believe in the shining light

I believe in Chukwuma Soludo

Education with integrity

Development with Security

I believe in Chukwuma Soludo

God bless Soludo

God bless Anambra

Politics / How Jim Nwobodo Helped APGA – Mazi Omife by apga: 9:26am On Mar 24, 2022
Mbe agaba, Aja mbene
Mbe agaba, Aja mbene
Ga ga ga ga, Aja Mbene
Ga ga ga ga, Aja Mbene
Ga……

The mammoth crowd could not allow Jim Nwobodo complete the song as a thunderous ovation of Jim!, Jim!, Jim! rent the air. The song had become the signature tune in NPP political rallies preparatory to the 1983 elections.

Jim, adorned in his characteristic white ‘Safari Suit’ brought out his trade mark white handkerchief and waved at the crowd, beaming with his famous killer smiles.

The more he waved, the louder the crowd roared Jim!, Jim!, Jim!….
That was about his last campaign rally just before the 1983 guber elections in the old Anambra State.
As he climbed down from the podium, his commissioners, all look-alike in their beautiful attire as their leader as if they were from the same mother, followed him, led by the State chairman of then NPP, Chief Guy Ikokwu, the party secretary, Chief Frank Oloto and Paulinus Amadike ( Minister of Sports)
It was a full compliment of Jim’s commissioners, including:
Uche Ofia-Nwali
Dr. Edwin Onwudiwe, NPP Senatorial candidate and former commissioner for health
Professor Sydney Mgbejiofor, one of the NPP Senatorial candidates who replaced Senator B. C. Okwu after he defected to the NPN
Senator Chukwuemeka Udenze,
Rob Iweka, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice
Thom Chigbo, Commissioner for Information and others.

Also in the entourage were Mike Okeke, NPP Director of Information, Fidel Odum, Eddy Onyia, Chief Press Secretary to the governor who replaced Chris Eluemuno, Anike Nwoga, NPP Youth wing chairman and many others.

Earlier in his speech, Jim had told the mammoth crowd of supporters that he was going to defeat his NPN rival, Chief C. C. Onoh (Aninefungwu) one thousand times. And that one thousand Bishop Eyitennes could not stop NPP from winning the coming election. So nobody should entertain any worry. Mr Bishop Eyitenne was the then controversial Anambra State Commissioner of Police who had a running battle with Jim Nwobodo’s men, Anike Nwoga in particular and his Road Safety Corps outfit.

As it turned out, after the election, NPN defeated NPP. Most people were shocked. Enugu Coal city became a ghost town, as a hushed silence descended upon the erstwhile vibrant city vibrating with excitement of widely anticipated NPP victory.

Everybody was stunned. Perhaps, this was what informed Zik’s famous statement in reaction to the NPP loss: HISTORY WILL VINDICATE THE JUST.

I remembered an incident that happened a few days to that election, involving Victor Oye, then one of the top editors of the defunct Satellite newspaper owned by Jim Nwobodo. The then leader of NPP Youth wing, Anike Nwoga had arranged for the officials of Progressive Association of Youths (PAY) to have an audience with the governor at the Lion Building.

Our team led by Ossy Ugwuoti ( former newscaster with ATV who later became a commissioner of poverty reduction in Enugu state) included Chidi Okolo (DOS), Emeka Mogo ( Spiritual Director), Grace Chinegwundo of NTA ( Treasurer), Ndidi Onyeama (Welfare), Oseloka Offor ( PRO) Barrister Charles Nnorom ( National Secretary) and yours sincerely ( Director of Planning and Strategy).

As we waited in the reception, we could see Victor Oye as he hurriedly made his way to the Governor’s office which suggested that the governor was waiting for him. It also suggested that Victor Oye was playing another role for the governor apart from his editorial job.

A few minutes after, he walked past again from the governor’s office and soon after, we saw Jim’s commissioners and some top functionaries hurry past to the governor’s office, apparently on urgent summons.

At this stage, despite the assurances by Eddy Onyia, the possibility of our seeing Jim became low. Shortly after, we were directed to see the Deputy Governor, Engr. Roy Umenyi instead.

It was after the elections that my brother, Fidel Odum told me during a discussion that if the governor and the NPP leadership had implemented Victor Oye’s strategy that day he came to see the governor, NPP would not have lost the election. However, he did not tell me what the strategy was. Nor did Victor Oye tell me what it was to this day.

But even if Jim failed to apply Victor Oye’s suggestion, nobody should have blamed him, because over ninety percent of Anambra people had no slightest doubt that NPP would win the election. I can say this because Jim Nwobodo’s performance as governor in terms of charisma and achievements in just four years were simply beyond all imagination and far beyond what any other governor before and after him had ever done, may be with the exception of M. I. Okpara. So everybody believed Jim would win.

But then, after the elections, there was this popular NTA weekly press conference hosted by the then General Manager of NTA, Eddy Brown Ayogu at which a team of crack journalists took on a guest, this time, the head of NPN campaign in Anambra State, Dr. Ibrahim Tahir. The panelists comprised Chike Abbey of Herald newspaper, Hollands Okoye of Sketch, C.K.C. Ubby of the old Anambra Broadcasting Service, (ABS), Sam Candor Okolo of FRCN and others.

Justifying NPN victory in the election, Dr. Tahir argued that NPN win was already a fait accompli even before the election, given the fact that the entire who is who in the old Anambra State were in the NPN. Name them;
Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu
Chief C. C. Onoh
Professor Odenigwe
Sir Joe Nwankwu
Dr. Chuba Okadigbo
Patrick Nwakoby, Chairman of First Bank
Mbazulike Amechi
Austin Ezenwa, a.k.a. UPGA
M. N. Ugochukwu
R. O Nkwocha
Mike Okoli (Eastern Shop)
Senator N. N. Anah (leader of so called Authentic NPP)
John Nnia Nwodo
Mark Okoye
Dr Mike Ogbalu
Vincent Ikeotuonye (who decamped from NPP after his kidnap saga)
Ifeanyi Obiekwe
F.G.N. Okoye sons
John Umenyiora
Hon. Ozo ughamadu, the youngest of them all, and very many others.
Who again? Tahir boasted.

A few weeks before the recent Anambra State governorship election, when Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye visited Enugu to address Anambrarians in the course of his day and night campaign tour of the South East states for a last minute campaign for Soludo, he was confronted with a similar scenario in which soothsayers predicted a tragic loss for APGA, given the wide array of timbers and calibers in both the APC , APGA and PDP, he laughed it off.

“Yes, I very much remember what happened to my boss Jim Nwobodo in those days. But that cannot happen in this election because I learnt a lesson from that experience. Soludo will be sworn in as governor. We have worked very hard for it”, he said , with so much confidence. When Soludo won, we were not surprised, thanks to the political shrewdness of the party of Obiano, Victor Oye and Soludo and their indefatigable party men and women.

One historical fact about Ozonkpu is that he has never lost any election as National chairman of APGA. On the contrary, he has continued to grow and improve on the gains of his party with every election year.

Today, Victor Oye is the only national party chairman among the major political parties that has survived in office since his assumption of office, unlike other parties that have changed their national leadership countless times. This definitely is a big plus and evidence of honest, humble and visionary leadership.

It has been a historical fact in Nigeria that every political party thrusts its national chairman with the task of winning elections for the party and that is why any time a political party loses a national election, or a party begind to lose direction and focus, it is the National chairman more than any other factor that is held responsible for the loss and made to pay the price.

It happened in 1979 after NPP lost the election to the NPN and this cost the first chairman of the party Chief Olu Akinfosile his seat which now went to Chief Adeniran Ogunsaya.

It also happened in 2015 when PDP lost the election to the APC. Everybody laid the blame on the party narional chairman, Dr. Mu’azu and he was immediately dethroned.

In the present dispensation, It happened in the APC before the 2019 elections when the party suffered a multiple crisis and this led to the sack of the then chairman, Chief John Oyegun who was replaced by Adams Oshiomole. When the crisis continued, Oshiomole was sacked and replaced with another person.

No wonder veteran Nigerian political party leaders in the second republic chose to combine the office of National Chairman with the presidential candidacy of their parties as was the case with Awolowo’s UPN, Alhaji Waziri’s GNPP and Aminu Kano’s PRP because they understood the onerous responsibility of a party national chairman.

Victor Oye was the first party National Chairman to move it’s party headquarters from a rented office to an expansive ultra-modern two storey complex sitting on a 4000 square meters of land at the high rise Katampe, Cadastral Zone B07, Abuja.

Yet, in all his achievements, Victor Oye gives the credit, not to himself, but to all the members of APGA. Just as he has dedicated the recent APGA victory not only to APGA members but also to all Anambrarians who demonstrated faith and trust in APGA as a party with a commitment to the welfare of all Anambrarians.

Politics / BREAKING: Anambra Airport Will Be Launched As Scheduled by apga: 1:20pm On Oct 29, 2021
Anambra State Government has received the green light from all relevant authorities to go ahead with the commissioning of the Anambra State International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri despite reported efforts to scuttle the event by certain mischief makers in the APC.

News filtered in yesterday about politically motivated conspiracies against the opening of the airport. However, a swift response by the Anambra State Government and a massive outcry by ndị Anambra against the plot, elicited positive assurances from the authorities.

Reacting to the development, Principal Secretary to the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Nwokoye confirmed that the airport got all the permits and the commissioning ceremony will go on as planned. He noted that "those at the evil end do not know the Anambra spirit.

"Mark my words, this gangsterism will drive the final nail in their coffin. The consolidated will of the people will triumph. The loudest campaign done for APGA and the most impactful endorsement of this Anambra Airport Project is this monstrous mid-night move".

Anambra Airport is an eternal legacy project of Gov Willie Obiano led APGA Administration to Ndị Anambra

Politics / BREAKING: APC Moves To Halt Opening Of Anambra Airport by apga: 9:41pm On Oct 28, 2021
By Gbenga Ogunsakin (Aviation Correspondent)

If nothing drastic is done, the All Progressives Congress will prevent the opening the Anambra International Cargo & Passenger Airport on Saturday, October 30, 2021 as scheduled.

Feelers from Government House Awka indicate that working in consort with aviation authorities, the APC machinery in Anambra State has convinced the federal government to halt the opening of the airport as such a development would sway the votes in favour of APGA in the November 6, 2021 election.

Feelers further revealed that they are citing security reasons for halting the opening of the airport, but aviation insiders say that it is a ruse to ensure that the APC gubernatorial candidate in the coming election is not completely crushed by the tide of goodwill that will pour in from the grand opening of the airport.

According to sources, the aviation authorities are allegedly acting on the instruction of Borno State born National Security Adviser Babagana Mungono, whose home state has been annexed by terrorists for over a decade without any official attempt to halt flights into Maiduguri.

Residents of Awka the capital of Anambra State who have been making elaborate preparations for the opening of the highly rated airport appeared devastated by the news of the truncation of the opening plans with beer parlours deserted and restauranteurs shutting down in a hurry for fear that some miscreants might decide to show their anger in a feat of violence.

Although there is no official announcement from the Aviation authorities to that effect yet, the news is gaining ground that the stalling of the grand opening of the airport is part of the thinly disguised diabolical plan of the APC to force through a hostile take over of Anambra State if there is not stiff resistance to its provocative efforts.

Politics / We Thank The Judiciary For Their Doggedness In Defending The Cause Of Democracy by apga: 9:51pm On Oct 14, 2021
APPRECIATION FROM THE OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA)

THANK YOU ALL

Today the Supreme Court of Nigeria reaffirmed the leadership of APGA under me by unanimously dismissing the twin-suit filed by one Jude Okeke and his cohorts.

We thank God for his mercifulness and compassion and for seeing us through the intense legal battles.

By this victory we have been called to greater service to our great party.

The November 6, 2021 Anambra State Governorship Election is drawing closer and this places an additional responsibility on us collectively and individually as members of the party.

We must guard our loins and take up the gauntlet for the task ahead by ensuring that nothing distracts us as we work for victory in the Anambra State Governorship election.

We use this opportunity to call on all of us to reach out to our members all over the country about the need to continue to work together for the growth and development of our party.

We need everybody on board as we work to reposition our party for 2021 and 2023.

APGA remains the preferred destination for any genuine lover of democracy; and we will continue to open up the space for equal participation by all genuine members of the party.

Rest assured that we will be magnanimous in victory, because we believe that leadership comes from God.

We thank the judiciary for their doggedness in defending the cause of democracy and shutting out those whose activities are inimical to national development and ethos.

Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye,
National Chairman, APGA

APGA ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: INEC REMOVES UMEOJI'S NAME, REPLACES IT WITH SOLUDO'S

The drama that started at INEC on July 16, 2021 leading to the erroneous publishing of Chukwuma Umeoji's name in place of that of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo came to an end today as the commission has done the needful.

In a press release by the commission and signed by the Commissioner, Voter Education and Publicity, Barr. Festus Okoye, the commission said that after its executive Committee meeting it was unanimously resolved that the name of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo and Dr. Onyekachikwu Gilbert Ibezim be published as the governorship and deputy governorship candidates of APGA respectively.

The commission has already yanked off Chukwuma Umeoji and Irogbu's names from its portal as candidates of APGA.

It could be recalled that Court of Appeal, Kano on Wednesday, August 10, 2021 entered judgment in favour of Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye as APGA National Chairman and Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as its governorship candidate.

With this development APGA will now fire on all cylinders to mobilize the people of Anambra State to win the November 6, 2021 governorship election, which is a sacred duty it owes to the people.

UPDATE

The Imo State High Court has granted the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Oye leave to appeal the judgment of Hon Justice Iheaka delivered on the 28th day of July, 2021. In a ruling delivered today, 19th of August, 2021, the vacation court presided over by His Lordship, Hon Justice Isiguzo held that Ozonkpu Dr Victor Oye has shown sufficient interest in the subject matter of the judgment and thus ought to have been joined ab initio to the suit at the lower court. Consequently, the court granted him leave to appeal the perverse judgment of the lower court.

The court however declined to grant the application to Stay Execution insisting that the Court of Appeal is in a better position to entertain the application for Stay of Execution.

With the ruling of the court today, the coast is now clear for the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division to follow the judgment of Court of Appeal, Kano Division to set aside the judgment of Owerri High court which was delivered without jurisdiction.

UPDATE

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kano has nullified the June 30th judgment of Birkin Kudu Division of Jigawa State High Court which erroneously sacked Chief Victor Ike Oye as the APGA National Chairman.

In an unanimously judgment delivered Tuesday this morning, the Appellate court disagreed with the lower court which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Mr. Jude Okeke, its faction of the party and their "purported" gubernatorial candidate Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji.

Glory be to God! Congratulations to APGA, OYE AND SOLUDO.
