We are going to support any collective/negotiation team emerging from the Chief (Dr.) Papa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark Niger Delta elders and genuine stakeholders conference to engage with the federal government of Nigeria, representatives from the home countries of all multinational Oil Corporations and neutral international mediators that will be focused on achieving the short, medium and long term frameworks and objectives to de-escalating conflicts in the Niger Delta. Most of the frameworks and objectives are clearly stated in various reports, declarations and recommendations of the likes of the Sir.Henry Willinks minority rights reports of pre-independence Nigeria (1957-, The Kaiama Declaration document, The General Alexander Ogomudia report, The Leedum Mittee headed, Niger Delta Technical Committee report and restructuring to fiscal federalism.


We have resolved to reject any idea of the peace of our times; we want the peace with honor this time around! Our advice to our Niger Delta elders and genuine stakeholders is that, whenever this inhuman project called Nigeria and her government is ready for dialogue/negotiations with them, this mandate should be treated with that care as driving a vehicle like that of a truck laden with fire.

We are going to continue the observation of our unannounced cessation of hostilities in the Niger Delta against all interest of the Multinational oil Corporations, but we will continuously adopt our asymmetric warfare during this period if, the Nigerian government and the ruling political APC continues to use security agencies/agents, formations and politicians to arrest, intimidate, invade and harass innocent citizens, suspected NDA members and invade especially Ijaw communities.

We promise to fight more for the Niger Delta, if this opportunity fails. Therefore, we will give our Niger Delta elders and genuine stakeholders that tacit support to the dialogue table with the government and the Multinational oil Corporations whenever the enabling environment prevails.

We also use this medium to warn those using rogue platforms like the defunct so-called MEND, RNDA- Cynthia Whyte especially Charles Okah who is franchising these internet based banditry from his prison cell, through Victor Ebikabowei Ben (Boyloaf), Timipre Silva, Selekaye Ebikabowei, Ayirimi Emani, Michael Johnny, Governor Adams Oshiomole to please inform those their paymasters that the days of doom are here. That those sold and bought up interests from around the corridors of power cannot arm-twist the NDA with bandits, drug addicts, illegal bunkerers, bank robbers and disorganized characters to derail the Niger Delta struggle.

Nigeria’s power generation drops to 2,800MW


Nigeria’s total electricity generation has dropped to a meagre 2,800 Megawatts, the lowest in nearly a year, as Nigerians struggle with mini-heat waves due to rising temperature.
The Ministry of Power said Thursday that power output dropped from a recent peak of 4,500MW on April 3, to 2,800 as of March 30.
Godknows Igali, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry blamed the huge cut on “vandalism of gas pipelines”.
Mr. Igali spoke at a meeting with the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ade Abolurin, where he called for increased protection of Nigeria’s power infrastructure.
He said the affected pipeline is the Escravos route.
“As at April 3, which is the nearest reference point for us, we were able to generate about 4,500MW on the grid, but as at this morning we had gone down to about 2,800MW.
“So you can see how much power we have lost as a result of vandalism, that is why power supply has become very bad all over the country because of these strange Nigerians that continue to deliberately blow up our gas pipelines,” Mr. Igali said.

Nigeria attains electricity generation milestone of 5,000MW



The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, yesterday announced that for the first time in the history of Nigeria’s electricity generation profile, the country has attained the milestone of generating about 5,074 megawatts, MW, of electricity.
Disclosing this through its Deputy General Manager, Public Affairs, Clement Ezeolisah, the System Operator department of TCN announced the attainment of the new peak generation of 5,074.7MW as well as the highest maximum daily energy of 109,372 Megawatts Hour (MWH) which it transmitted across to electricity distribution companies in the country.

Ezeolisah revealed in a statement that the new mark was attained at 9.30pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Indian EPC Sterling and Wilson to deliver 250 MW of Nigerian solar power



The developer will complete 250 MW of solar capacity in Nigeria over the next two-to-three years having been selected as part of a recent push to get 975 MW online.

The recent signing of 975 MW of power purchase agreements (PPAs) by Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (BNET) Plc under Nigeria’s FIT program has led to Indian EPC Sterling and Wilson being chosen to develop 250 MW of that capacity.

The PPAs, agreed earlier this month in one of the first tangible signs of activity in Nigeria’s large-scale solar sector, will see government-owned NBET snap up the solar power produced for a price of $0.115/kWh.

For its part, Sterling and Wilson hopes to complete its 250 MW of commissioned project in the next two-to-three years to add to its growing 1 GW portfolio of completed solar parks globally.

The Indian developer has a 260 MW clean energy pipeline in Egypt, 175 MW in Morocco, 87 MW in South Africa and 7 MW in Niger, so is well positioned to continue to serve Africa’s growing clean energy appetite. It also has a completed 90 MW solar farm in South Africa under its belt, the company confirmed.

“With the recently announced PPAs of 975 MW, we see huge solar potential opening up in Nigeria,” said Sterling and Wilson’s solar business president Bikesh Ogra. “We are well positioned to support growth in the solar market in Nigeria through our presence and experience, as more investors are focusing on reliable, bankable solar EPCs that can commission projects on time.”

Yesterday, Nigeria’s government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nigus Greenergy and Volt Renewables for the creation of three 100 MW solar PV plants in three of the country’s northern states.
