With the BlackBerry DTEK60 being the flagship for BlackBerry’s holiday push and the DTEK50 pretty much already forgotten, the Mercury could leave a decent imprint on the market when its released. If you’re wondering why BlackBerry is suddenly testing and releasing new devices, this comes after the company confirmed that it would be releasing a few devices in the latter portion of 2016, and this may be the final iteration.

It’s also possible that we’ll see even more from BlackBerry, but for now, here’s to hoping that BlackBerry can make a dent in the competition and return to some form of relevancy.

BlackBerry is hoping to make a splash this Holiday season as we have already seen the BlackBerry DTEK60 leaked although the device has yet to be made official. The next device is code-named the BlackBerry “Mercury” and may be quite a formidable mid-range device once it is released.

The device was found with the model of “BlackBerry BBB100-1” which some believe to be the Mercury. The benchmarks show that the device will be running Android 7.0 Nougat, will include 3GB of RAM and may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor.

PhonesXiaomi Mi Note 2 With Curved Display Is Launching On Oct. 25 by ArewaTech1(op): 3:17pm On Oct 17, 2016
Xiaomi has announced that it will unveil the successor to last year’s Mi Note in China on October 25. Dubbed the Mi Note 2, the phone will feature a dual curved display similar to that of the Galaxy S7 edge, along with high-end internals in the form of a Snapdragon 821 SoC.

The official invite is light on details, but recent rumors suggest the phone will come with a 5.7-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, 12MP dual rear cameras, and a 4000mAh battery. Xiaomi will also roll out a Pro version with a 5.7-inch QHD display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Xiaomi introduced a rear camera setup in the Mi 5s, so it is likely we’ll see a similar implementation in the Mi Note 2.

With Samsung being the only vendor to successfully develop sustainable yields of curved AMOLED panels, it is possible Xiaomi is partnering with the South Korean company over the display. Other specs are on par for a high-end flagship in late 2016, and we should know more about the handset next Tuesday. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said earlier this month that the Mi Note 2 will come with a “surprise,” so it’ll be interesting to see what the have in store for us on October 25.

PhonesFacebook Adds A Data Saver Option In Messenger by ArewaTech1(op): 5:52pm On Oct 16, 2016
Data savers are becoming something of a trend, with Google recently adding one to Android and Facebook following with the main Facebook app. The company obviously liked the idea, because it seems it’s testing a data saving feature for Messenger as well, which should reduce the amount of data the app consumes.

Data saver, which can be found in the app’s settings area, reduces the amount of data used when looking at pictures of videos that have been sent to you. It does this by enabling click-to-download on said items, instead of automatically downloading when they are received. This only occurs when using cellular data; if the device is connected to a WiFi network, the app will continue to download pictures and videos when they are received. There’s also an ability to see how much data has been saved, which can be reset as well.

PhonesTop Android Apps & Games Of The Week (october 14, 2016) - Arewatech by ArewaTech1(op): 6:34pm On Oct 15, 2016
Every week, hundreds of Android apps and games are submitted to the Play Store. If you’re not paying attention 24/7, it’s easy to miss some of the best stuff. Each week we will highlight five of the best new or overlooked apps and games. You’re sure to find some hidden gems in these recommendations. Go forth and download!

1. Flychat
Flychat is a nifty app that turns your favorite messaging apps into floating chat bubbles. It looks a lot like Chat Heads in Facebook Messenger. When a message comes in it appears as a bubble on the side of the screen. When you tap on the bubble it opens a floating window so you can respond without leaving the current app. Flychat woks with many messaging apps, including WhatsApp, Hangouts, Textra, Twitter, and more.

2. Dingless
Dingless is an absurdly simple app that solves a problem you probably never realized existed. Notification sounds are great when you’re away from your phone, but are they really necessary when you are already looking at your screen? DIngless mutes notification sounds when the display is on and automatically unmutes when the display is off. You can also use the app to bunch multiple notifications together into one single alert.

3. PaperSpot
PaperSpot is an interesting wallpaper app that can automatically change your wallpaper based on your location. For example, you can select a wallpaper to use at home and a completely different wallpaper to use when you’re at the office. Simply find a location on the map, choose the size of the area, and pick a wallpaper. PaperSpot will do all the work for you. The app is currently in beta.

4. Mazes & More
Mazes & More is exactly what the title says. If you love well-designed and challenging mazes, this is a great game. Simply swipe your finger in the direction you want to go. The game draws the line for you and stops at all intersections. Beside the classic mazes, there are four other modes to challenge your skills. All the mazes are made by hand and the game looks great.

5. Putthole
Putthole is a unique game that combines elements from Pipe Dream, endless challenges, and putt putt golf. The “course” consists of 16 spaces and 16 tee boxes. The goal is to use the pieces below the course to get golf balls into the holes. You can tap the pieces to rotate and drag into place. As soon as you sink a putt, the pieces are removed and added to your score. The game just keeps going like that until you quit or can’t make any more moves.

PhonesSamsung Galaxy C9 & C9 Pro Leaked Specs & Photos - Arewatech by ArewaTech1(op): 3:32pm On Oct 15, 2016

A new Samsung smartphone bearing the model number SM-C9000, believed to be the rumored Galaxy C9, has been spotted on TENAA’s website, where a few images of the handset are being shown along with its specifications.

Judging by the phone’s design, it would be safe to assume the handset is a scaled-up version of its predecessors, the Galaxy C5 and C7, though TENAA’s listing shows the Galaxy C9 is a bit larger than the 5.7-inch Galaxy C7. To compare, the Galaxy C9 has dimensions of 162.9×80.7×6.9 mm based on TENAA’s data, while the Galaxy C7 is 156.6 x 77.2 x 6.8 mm in size. The Galaxy C9 supposedly sports a 6.0-inch 1920 × 1080p AMOLED display.

Under the hood, the C9 is likely to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and 6 GB of RAM, run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and bear a 4,000 mAh battery. It is also said to show off 16 MP rear and front cameras. The C9 will also feature 4G/LTE support and a fingerprint scanner on the home button.

But the part about TENAA’s images that captured the most attention is the new antenna design. The new design includes three slim lines at the top and bottom with a color similar to the rest of the handset’s back panel. While most other OEMs fail to neatly assimilate antenna bands in metal-clad devices, Samsung is trying to reconcile these two design components through the new system.

Another set of leaked photos reveals the Pro sibling of the Galaxy C9, which is also shown to be featuring the tri-antenna band design. At this moment, there is not much information about the Galaxy C9 Pro’s specs, but you can sift through the leaked renders in the gallery below.

Rumor has it that the Galaxy C9 and C9 Pro will arrive in Gold, Silver and Rose Gold options during their anticipated launch in China later this month (and in the US in November). It appears, then, that what Samsung initially conceived as China-exclusive smartphones seem to be gradually expanding into other markets.

Will you pick up the Galaxy C9 or C9 Pro once they hit store shelves? Share your thoughts down in the comments!

PhonesHow To Delete Your Instagram Account by ArewaTech1(op): 9:06pm On Oct 14, 2016
[b]In a time when you decide to jump out of social media and various apps. You may need to delete/deactivate your account. Instagram is a big player in the social media team. Thankfully, you can now delete your Instagram account, if you want. I’ll explain below how to do this.

No matter what your reasons are for leaving Instagram, you can deactivate your account and leave it all behind you. I will show you two methods to do this: temporary deactivation and permanent deactivation.
As the names might suggest, the first method allows you to deactivate your account temporarily: none of your data will be deleted, information (photos, for example) will be hidden from other users until you reactivate your account. The second one, more of an extreme solution, allows you to delete your account for good: everything that you have shared on your account will be deleted as well as your account/profile.

Note: These methods can not be carried out directly from the app, you have to do it through an internet browser (Firefox, Chrome, UCBrowser Opera etc) either on your smartphone, tablet or PC.

Download what is important to you and forget the rest.

If you are an active Instagram user, there are probably stuffs of sentimental value on your account (photos, videos, comments…) Before uninstalling the app, think about what you could lose and save any photos that you want to keep.

If, for any reason, you have deleted the application and want to reinstall it, Download it below
