heykims: Im sure it is these psycophants dt will make Mikel feel hes doing anything of worth in Europe.
Nigerians re now jubilating coz Mikel wrongfully captained d team nd scored his first ever FA cup goal in in 9yrs as if he has won FIFA player of d year. All media houses making it headlines say ''african best player don score in europe o'' it happens once in a blue moon.
We re rejoicing coz d supposed best player in africa has scored in Europe?
What a ridicule to my dear Africa.
E no go better for person wey remove Enyeama for dt final list....
In his absence, YAYA for AFOY....

BizBooks: While I am a big Mikel supporter, we need to get real about the captain issue. The
truth is that Essien was supposed to give the captain band to Ashley Cole. But for
some reason, he gave it to Mikel. It appears that in his disappointment at being
substituted, he gave the band to the closet player who happened to be Mikel.

Mourinho made that point clear in an interview he gave after the match:

"For some reason Essien gave (Mikel) the armband, normally it should go to
Ashley Cole, so maybe it made him believe he was a goalscorer!"

U av only succeeded in defining what sentiment is.
So u av to consider Mikel for d title just coz u re both Nigerians even if there's a better African dt is more deserving?
Well, I'm more open minded nd consider being an African first before Nigeria in continental issues like ds.
if dem ask u wetin u don do u go say u don talk sense ....if u say toure is ahead of mikel presently I will say yes bt if u tell me he was ahead of mikel during 2012/13. I will call u nothing bt a liar....if u ar looking at goals toure scores. I will like to know how many goals makelele scored after almst 200 matches at chelsea (1) yet we hav nt seen a defensive midfielder like him...dnt even try mentioning tou.....cos during 2012/13 season mikel won champion lg,europa lg,afcon nd was among d top3 most outstanding player at afcon...my broda be fair in ur rating...I remember mikel ws d best player of chelsea against barca first leg of champion lg.....he defended with all he had nd it paid off...dey won

Iamzuna: @OP.. Its very obvious that you started watching football just recently. What you should consider first is that the award is for African excellence and not for European excellence. Do you think Yaya winning the award is not an insult to African football also? Well the reason why African football is backwards is because we only want to give these awards to player who flourish in Europe (not even flourish but sometimes its as bad as them just playing good for their club sides) and forget the heroes who make the African game worth watching. I am sure you will say a Zambian player does not deserve the award last year and you will also support that the Egyptian Aboutrika does not deserve to win the award at least twice. Now lets go to other continents, do you think its just players who do well in Europe that wins the best player award from those continents? Africa will want to copy from Europeans and Europeans are just selecting players from their own league (or have you seen the best player in South America compete for the EFOTY (before it was merged with FFOTY)). Now coming to the world cup calender year, why do you think that irrespective of the club performance its only the best at the world cup that wins the award *barring Messi 2010*(though his performance that year was something else). Once a major tournament takes place that year, the winner of the best player award should come from that tournament and i think for once it has to happen in Africa and since Mikel is the only one representing the champion of Africa then he has to win it. Also he does not play for a small team so he just has to win it.
Concerning the bench warmer argument, i think you guys have to start watching football all over again and understand that there is a difference between team rotation and bench warming. How can you argue that Mikel is a bench warmer when he is obviously getting much more playing time than Essien. Dont forget that there are other players in Chelsea that will leave this January and yet Mikel remains in the coach's plan and you call him a bench warmer.... Mourinho rotates his players and that is the reason why Mikel has had to sometimes sit on the bench and for your information Mikel is not a bench warmer and he has a better and a more successful last season than Yaya (generally not individually) so he has a claim for that award not for his performance in club (europe) but for his performance in the same AFRICAN football. For me all three players dont deserve to win the award as Eyeama or Petriopa should have won clearly (the later being the best player of the tournament).
my broda ur head dey there I dnt know wat d op meanby bench warmer.....if him dey watch ijakadi make him better continue watching nd leave football for those that understand it

Im a Nigerian nd I hold nothing against Mikel as a player, in fact am a fan esp then when he represented Nigeria in d U21 category in d world cup back in 2005. I just like to be factual.
U re right Mikel is doing what he does best, but unfortunately some others re doing it better.
Ans ds:
does it make sense for a palyer who warms d bench in europe to come to africa nd is crowned d footballer of d year? Pls just YES or NO..
how many chelsea match did u watch in d season 2012/13 cos dats where d judgment comes frm and which other african won an european and african trophy during dat period ...pls be realistic ..he was d best at d nations cup...wat ar u saying? bench warmer? no player at chelsea cnt be benchd even hazard has been benched severally

ndu_chucks: All things being equal, these Smart cars which are abundantly available in India, Brazil, and even the USA, in my opinion, are the only cars which can be assembled in Nigeria and sold to the public profitably, at the N1million - N1.2million price range.

Nwanne m, I'd rather but a 1998 Toyota Corolla brought in from Benin than any of these cars. What about you?

This one was spotted in the USA

Sports / Ministry, NFF Move To Vet Keshi’s List by Arnoldo(m): 10:02am On Jun 25, 2013
The poor finishing of the Super Eagles against Spain at the FIFA Confederations Cup on Sunday has turned the Sports Ministry and the Nigeria Football Federation officials against Stephen Keshi.
The PUNCHlearnt on authority that the officials are specifically curious about Keshi’s interest in certain players whom they say he has continued to take to tournaments even when it is obvious their current form suggest they are not good enough for that level of competition.
An official of the Ministry of Sports who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone on Monday said the Ministry and the NFF will no longer close their eyes to what their investigations have linked to “very personal” plans of the Nigeriacoach.
The official said, “When Keshi came on board the general agreement was to build a team afresh which was the right thing to do having missed one African Nations Cup, but we have passed through long enough period and by every reason should have reached a much higher level than we are now.
“We are still experimenting for only one reason and that is purely because of what the coach is doing. Keshi appears to be encouraging certain players for purely personal reasons. Take the Confederations Cup as a typical example and you will understand that many of those listed in the team had no business being there. You cannot say you are exposing players to the detriment of the country; players that havenot even reached the level of African Nations Cup were instead thrown in to play against world champions Spain.
“We are no longer fooled on this matter and we have to take more interest in the players that represent Nigeria. This is a national team and not a private team. He has to get the Nigerians we know are in better state tofeature for Eagles rather feature players nobody knows the clubs they are playing for.”
But even as those in Abuja fume over Keshi’s selections, the former Nigeria captain has no regret over his choice of players to the competition ongoing in Brazil. On Monday,Keshi said via hisTwitterhandle, that his team was stillin the building stage.
“It’s a learning process for us,we just have to continue what we started last night and build,” he said of the game against Spain on Sunday. Eagles were beaten 3-0 to crash out of the competition..culled from http:///x8REQ

What you dont know dont talk about it, Mike was Roman's eyes and ears (Gbeborun, Amebo, Mole or spy) in the camp thats why Roman moved him into the camp as an assistant when Ray was fired they moved up Steve Holland was asked to support Carlo to the end of the season. And he was also asked to support Benithez despite Benithez asked Zenden to be his assistance.
what is the difference was emenalo never an assistant how can u say i dnt knw what i am saying when we are saying the same thing..was he nt an assistant to emenalo

Learn to spell. You failed. The USA got to the final vs. Brazil last time and they don't even care about football. You were beat by 34 year old Forlan and 32 year old Scotti who is past his best. Tahiti scored on you. Against SPain you attacked but could not score. In the end I am so embarassed!! Once again the USA in CONCACAf got to the final. Egypt beat Italy last time even though it was a weakend Italy... The only team you beat was Tahiti... How is that success. They have one professional footballer. The rest are unemployed or climbers, mechanics etc etc. A mechanic scored on your professional keeper and out jumped your professional defender.
which country are u from self let me knw what ur country doing when nigeria lifted the nations cup..probably u were on 2months sleeping programme in ur country and failed 2 appear in the nations cup pls go back to sleep

Assistant coach to who?

He was the scout and was promoted Technical Director
he was appointed Chief Scout under Avram Grant at Chelsea. When Ray Wilkins left the club, he was promoted to Assistant First Team coach in November 2010 working with Carlo Ancelotti. In July 2011, Emenalo was appointed Chelsea's Technical Director...i am a chelsea fan and i can remember vividly when he had a problem with acelotti and he wanted emenalo sacked but it seemed abrahamovich had personal interest in emenalo
