Reference: [s]Oga, if the word restructuring is such a threat to your psyche, just settle down. It is simply a 'process' by which people sit down and negotiate solutions to intractable or long running problems that have refused to be solved. It draws responsibility closer to the people and gives the people more power to hold those with the responsibility culpable.
Clearly there is an infrastructural challenge in Nigeria that the primary authorities cannot or have not handled since independence. Is it a cardinal sin to sit down and say for example, states take these roads and handle them, maintain them and we cede a percentage of Nigeria's earnings to assist you, or increase your allocations, or we give you the whole budget of the Federal Ministry of Works and then shut down that miserable Ministry for good..
Or if you cannot give them additional funds you permit them to raise capital or commercialise these facilities. This highway (and by the way Calabar is the only capital city in Nigeria served by a single lane highway even though it was long ago the defacto capital of the Niger area. Yet, it is serves the whole of the South-South, the South-East and North-Central from the ports and free trade zone, cement coming from Unicem and granite from Akamkpa. Thousands of heavy duty vehicles ply that one lane road every week all the way to Bayelsa, Onitsha, Ebonyi and beyond.
If the owners of the road, the Federal government cannot recognise the huge potentials of that viability they should let it go, simple. No sentiment.
I do not know the extent of Julius Bergers work since it is a year and a half since I last ventured there but at that time it was abandoned and disputed between government institutions and since I found the sea route more viable I simply fly into Uyo, motor down to Oron and sea cross to Calabar.
And here you talk about Representatives as if they have budgets to fix roads or are able to speak up in a parliament that is pro Executive.[/s] Keep blaming FG No wonder your Governors, Reps, Senators, NDDC etc take you for granted

Reference: Who owns that road, simple. Answer that and stop running around. If the Federal government cannot fix it or be held accountable they should just give it to the state, privatise it or give it to the NDDC or whatever. That is the restructuring ambit of Nigeria's infrastructure we talk about. Let the people know who they should hold accountable, period. Ten people cannot lay claim to a property and you expect it to be in shape. With power comes responsibility. Stop trying to peddle sentiment. This guy's comprehension remains your main challenge. If FG fails call your representative and leaders to do the needful, do stay in your huts and be shouting FG, FG, this is my point. to your question, FG owns that road, and work began on its repairs in March 2021. The traffic there is as a result of the construction works. That's how julus Berger works, cause traffic, scatter everywhere, though they end up with good works. Sit there and be shouting restructuring as if it will automatically make your sleeping leaders responsibe. |

Reference: Then why not simply restructure so that state governments are in charge of all highways border to border. Is that so difficult to understand. These roads are not being done because no one is taking responsibility. Can you tell me who is in charge of that road. If by your so called assertion the state government owns it, fine, if the NDDC owns it fine, someone is responsible. All we ask for is clarity by the Constitution of who the people should hold responsible for its poor state or who they will pay taxes and levies to to get it sorted out, period.
And then you cannot help but demonstrate the usual sentimental parochialism by "They had the Presidency for 6 years". Can you tell me how many years this government this 'Federal, Federal, Federal government' has spent in power. The government that replaced the bad one of the past.?? What trash are you talking bout? Do you know what restructuring is all about? Does restructuring automatically make your leaders responsible? You are misplacing your priority and you do not seem to understand my point at all? Hold your leaders responsible simple. Whether regional, local, or state government. Not everything is FG. If FG is failing hold your leaders responsible to ensure FG does the right thing. |

OKPANAMboy: I remember when Aphonjas were boasting on how potent their juju can be, how they can leave Nigeria if they are ready, how they fought and won the Fulanis, how they own the unity of Nigeria and can break up when they desire, how they fought DSS officers that came earlier to arrest Igboho and how they over hyped their low budget US Marine, Amotokun.
They called Nnamdi Kanu a fugitive that ran away leaving his people and also called him a coward.
They called Igbos chest beaters.
Now, who's the chest beaters? Who's a fugitive?
Another Benin Republic loading..... Fear-fear. Chest beaters again, Polie is showing force, Yoruba nation miscreants still want to protest but you still go-ahead to call them names. From Ojokwu to Kanu, all your leaders are cowards always running when the kitchen gets hot. Tell me the region that has led the most virulent protest in Nigeria? Tell me those who have been at the forefront. i am not talking about the guerilla fighter who will run at the sight of military

letristian: I plied that road in earlier this year, I felt so bad that I would have taken medication. How can a State that produces much revenue via oil have such lengthy kilometres of bad roads. But those in the North are super dual carriage nylon built
And somebody wants us to be united in conditions of suffering and smiling.
E really choke! Again blame the North for the failure of your leadership You have monthly allocation + derivation fund + NDDC, yet bad roads everywhere, but the north and probably Tinubu is your problem. When will you ever call the leadership of your region to accountability. They had Presidency for 6 years, what did they do |

Are you pretending that you don't know the truth. Who is the bandit, what is his name, bring your fact and pass it to DSS. All criminals must be brought to book. Kanu the terrorist and all criminals must be brought to book |

You know what, you and I know that you are just being mischievous with the truth.
And further talking you is waste of my time. Good day Yes but no evidence against Kanu right? Smart guy. Tell me who the self-acclaimed leader of the bandits is, and he will b rounded up. |

But u arrested ur fellow oppressed black Christian brother fighting against injustice and oppression and handed him over to an oppressive, Islamic terrorist govt, its unforgivable.
If its kenya,,then Elumelu and the vp's igbo inlaw should be among the suspect in this case..Because of Elumelus influence in east Africa and Kenya?Could they be among the Igbo's that sold him out?
