What makes this amazing is that the mother, Fatima Madrigal gave birth to twins but in different years. One of the babies, Aylin Yolanda Trujillo was delivered at midnight on Saturday 1st making her the first baby of Monterey County, and Her twin brother Alfedro Antonio Trujillo was born on December 31, 2021, at 11:45 pm.

A lion has killed a man identified as Hamzat Oyekunle at Agodi zoo gardens, Ibadan. Following the killing, the state government has announced the immediate closure of the Zoo. The government said this decision is based on the report received from the company managing the Zoo, AM & C, that one of the lions at the Zoo had accidentally attacked one of the attendants, Mr. Hamzat Oyekunle popularly known as Baba Olorunwa, who later died from injuries sustained from the incident. Meanwhile, the lions have been evacuated pending further investigations. The government decision was contained in a statement at the weekend by the Executive Secretary, Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP), Mr. Yinka Fatoki who expressed shock at the unfortunate incident. He said that the incident is particularly surprising and sad as the said Mr. Oyekunle had fed the lion for over five years and was known to have had a very good relationship with all the animals in the zoo. Governor Umahi of Ebonyi state has advised politicians to avoid insulting opponents - Speaking at the Ebonyi state 21st anniversary, he urged all to engage in constructive criticism - The governor also urged members of APC in Ebonyi to refrain from insulting him On Sunday, October 1, at a gala- night to celebrate 21 years of the creation of Ebonyi and the 57th Independence anniversary of Nigeria in Abakaliki, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi advised politicians in the opposition not to insult those in government. According to Umahi, it was better to criticise them constructively to enhance development. He also advised members of his ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to refrain from insulting the President Muhammadu Buhari- led All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government. Speaking about his homes state, the governor also urged members of APC in Ebonyi to refrain from insulting him and his government. He said: “I always tell my people (PDP) that opposition at the centre is not about insults; I also advise the opposition in our state to tow the same line. “Opposition is about constructive criticism, putting the leader in check and reminding him that he has not fulfilled the promises he made. “It should not involve lying to the people, deceiving them and practising politics with bitterness and anger. “I will ask our grandfathers who are tackling us to do so with wisdom and love because it is a shame that a grandfather would tackle his children." Umahi also sais the PDP will continues to win in the state. “We have been holding the umbrella for an old man who was under the umbrella for eight years and we will take him to the boundaries of Ebonyi to sweep. “We are standing on God’s mandate and not shaking because over 10,000 people are praying for us day and night to succeed and take the state to another level," he said. Umahi also commended President Buhari for agreeing that the country needed to be restructured. “We will now talk, disagree, agree and arrive at decisions that will take the nation to greater heights and achieve the desired unity and development,” he said.

More than 50 people have been killed and hundreds injured in a mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert. A gunman, named as 64-year-old Nevada resident Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air music festival attended by 22,000. Police say he killed himself as officers stormed the room where 10 guns were found. The attack is the worst mass shooting in recent US history. US President Donald Trump tweeted his "warmest condolences and sympathies" to the victims and their families, and called the shooting "terrible". Sheriff Joe Lombardo described the shooting as a "lone wolf" attack and there was no information about Paddock's motives. "We have no idea what his belief system was," he said. So-called Islamic State later claimed to be behind the attack, saying that Paddock had converted to Islam some months ago. But the group provided no evidence for this and has made unsubstantiated claims in the past. Alhaji Saidu has allegdly beaten up to death his 3 year old step daughter, Saratu Yahuza.
Saidu has since been arrested and detained by the Katsina State Police Command. The incident occurred when Saidu was said to have dragged her into an uncompleted building in Yankara village of Faskari Local Government, where he allegedly beat, twisted and broke her neck. The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development, said one Yahuza Yakubu, purported to be the biological father of the girl, reported the case at the Police Station in Faskari. Isah said the suspect had since confessed to the crime and during investigation, told the Police investigators that he acted under the influence of psychotropic substances. Isah said the deceased was rushed to Funtua General Hospital, where a doctor confirmed her dead.

Detectives in the state have apprehended the suspect and detained him. Vanguard gathered that the suspect allegedly killed the deceased for plucking cocoa pods in his farm without his authorisation.
