majekdom2: my point is there should be no respect for any democratic govt that encourages corruption . those were typo errors. You wait for them at the polls. Planing a coup to evict the said government is worse than corruption. |

BackDatAssUp: Shatap with your nonsense corruption mantra.
This is the only rhetoric you dunces and your daft general keep regurgitating.
The key to fighting corruption is reducing govt role to that of a regulatory body.
And that calls for govt hands of directly in the economy (oil sector ) and promotion of private ventures.
The only main corruption cases we will then have is not looting of state funds but tax evasion.
You mumu. |

I was not bordered by the lack of eloquence or charisma. I was worried about his answers. On security, he would have a meeting with the head of states of our neighboring countries. Then he went into another of his corruption diatribe. No direct answer on a solution or a way of combating young men from the Northeast killing and destroying lives daily. He also recited the boko having better arms than the army crap, and how investigation proved billions of missing money. What a joke. On the economy: Agriculture and mining will take too long to produce results He would work to stop the declining crude oil prices(Only God knows, what he is going to do) and fight the waste and abuse(corruption in the oil sector) That is so 1983. No solution to our problems in this new global economy of 2014. He was given a chance to apologise for his 1983 coup, instead, he blamed democracy and its institutions for all ills of the second republic. Forgetting the voters had a chance in 1987, like 2015 to judge NPN. Yet, he wants votes in 2015 to lead the same institutions he passionately dislikes. On the Moslem/Moslem ticket, even Gowon's service chiefs had their 10 seconds of fame again. He could not give a direct answer. Finally IBB watch your back. The man has not forgotten, neither has he forgiven you. Thank God Nigerians will also have their chance to revisit 1983 in 2015. Buhari sounds bitter, angry and very out of touch with reality. |

Fashola is quite right! Please give us the Naira spread, because I don't see where you get 8%, based on the before and after numbers. |

Collynzo9: Without subsidy you will be buying petrol at N300 per litre minimum. Refining here in Nigeria wouldn't even change much unless the crude oil is subsidized before selling to the refineries. The likes of Quatar, Venezuela etc subsidize even the crude oil they refine in their countries, that is why their citizens get them cheap. The fact you have to explain this simple fact to a Nigerian leaves me flabbergasted. |

But for people to defend a faulty view just because it was echoed by their hero shows absolute ....... Calling yourself pro GEJ has nothing to do with your previous comment. How you went from petrol subsidies to Yoruba Nation, is very confusing to me. |

Abagworo: There has never been subsidy. It is simply a scam used in stealing. We do not consume as much fuel as claimed by FG. Let a new government enter and all this truth will be revealed.
Why cant the refineries be built in Nigeria and subsidy payed in Naira to indegenous owners? You are one of the pretenders. If there is no subsidy, then ask the government to get the hell out of the petrol business. |

This is a waste of time argument. You cannot reap where you never sowed. Yaradua made the same mistake, reducing pump prices, because the price of crude fell to the $40s. Only to draw down the excess crude account, to make up the difference in revenue shortfall, when crude oil did what it has always done. Which is go up and down. |

BlackTechnology: Do you know that more would have failed if the interest rate was increased. let's not do this again. I just showed you a place where almost zero interest made no difference in the business failure rates.. Nigeria businesses need access to credit, the market will regulate what the interest rate is set at. Fact is 90% of Nigerian business are not bankable. Deal with the underline fundamentals and allow the market do its thing. If we need lower interest rates in Nigeria, then, let's control government spending and reduce the money supply. |
