PoliticsRe: Chibok Girls Families Reject Presidential Meeting, Jonathan Blames Opposition by atlwireles: 8:28pm On Jul 15, 2014

Sloan: I wonder how some paid cursed phools can still defend this empty sack of beans called Jonathan. The police kills someone with a stray bullet, Nigerians cry and complain, and even come to NL to do so! The army brutalizes someone, and they come here to complain, I mean only one person. Now, hundreds of people have been kidnapped and thousands killed and guess what? The government is doing nothing and instead blames the opposition? Even if you are paid, do you not know that your children's tomorrow is being eaten today? Where is Abacha today? Where is Hitler today? Jonathan will not be president forever, I wonder what will be of his end which must be worse than Abachas!

PoliticsNigeria 2015: PDP Governors, Reps Declare Support For President Jonathan by atlwireles(op): 8:18pm On Jul 15, 2014
“Members of the PDP Governor’s Forum were present when the NASS Caucus declared their support for the president.”
——————————-
Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Tuesday, expressed the loyalty and support of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governors to President Goodluck Jonathan, should he decide to seek re-election in 2015.
Mr. Akpabio, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, spoke to State House correspondents at the end of a meeting of the forum members with Mr. Jonathan.
The governors’ meeting with the president coincided with a similar one between him and members of the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives.
The party lawmakers had passed a vote of confidence on the resident and endorsed him for second term.
Other governors present at the meeting were those of Benue, Bayelsa, Enugu, Abia, Jigawa, Ebonyi, Delta, Kogi, Kebbi, Gombe, Bauchi, Katsina, and the deputy governor of Sokoto.
“Members of the PDP Governor’s Forum were present when the NASS Caucus declared their support for the president.
“I do not want to pre-empt the action of PDP Governors, but I can attest to their loyalty and their commitment to the success of Mr President come 2015.’’
Mr. Akpabio said the meeting, also attended by members of the National Working Committee of the party led by the National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, discussed how to deepen internal democracy.
He added that it was also held to strategise on how best they could serve the masses to retain their love and vote for the PDP in 2015.
“We meet with the president based on the fact that in the next few months, we shall be going into major primaries, so we want to deepen internal democracy.
“We want to strategise on how best we can hold primaries free from rancour and by implication also ensure that we bring out the best candidates.
“Taking a cue from what had happened in Ekiti, if we are able to carry out proper internal democracy, then the main election will be less rancorous.
“At the end the party will sail through with a view to getting up two-thirds of the states of the federation as it was when we started in 1999.’’
He said the meeting also commended Mr. Jonathan for his strides in governance, particularly in the education sector.
“The Jonathan government has built over 150 Almajiri schools and he is trying to tackle the insecurity in the northern part of Nigeria using education.
“He is the first Nigerian president to establish up to 10 federal universities at a go which is highly commendable.
“We equally commend his giant strides in the power sector and other areas.
“We believe that our performance will still endear us to Nigerians and that is what we looking forward to.
“Politics is all about democracy dividends, not about propaganda, so those who want to do propaganda can do so,” he added.

How long will you keep playing your northerners line? Mister change your cd. Everybody is currently running for cover. Obj played dirty politics with the south and acted like a coward before northerners? You are probably talking of a different history, than the one we lived in Nigeria, between 1999-2007.

PoliticsOsun State PDP Expels 6 APC ‘spies’ by atlwireles(op): 6:07pm On Jul 15, 2014
BY GBENGA OLARINOYE
The PDP has expelled six of its top leaders who were accused of being moles of the ruling APC in the state.
Among those expelled were the state deputy chairman, Dr. B.T Salam, State Secretary, Major Raphael Tewogbola, former State Secretary, Chief Yinka Adeojo, former chairman of Osogbo Local Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaiye, former Personal Assistant to former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alhaji Razaq Oyelami and Alhaji Rasaq Oyetunji.

Chairman of the state chapter of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa in a statement following a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) held at the partyf secretariat in Osogbo, said the decision was taken in order to ensure discipline within the party.

According to the statement, the Youths Leader of the party Mr Benson Adegbola moved the motion for the expulsion of the six members while the motion was seconded by the partyfs Treasurer Hon. Adesoye Oyetunde.
The statement added that the state women leader, Mrs. Mary Anjoorin moved the motion that positions being occupied by the expelled members at various federal boards should be allocated to faithful party members.
The party alleged that the expelled members of the party were romancing with the ruling All progressives Congress (APC), hence their expulsion.

Some of the six expelled members are loyalists of former Governor Oyinlola and were alleged to have attended meetings with APC leaders in their various Local Government Areas recently while others were alleged to have followed Fatai Akinbade to the Labour Party.
In his reaction to his suspension, Tewobola said he remained a PDP member and the secretary of the party in the state saying that his expulsion was null, void and of no effect.

PoliticsRe: Questions About The North? Will Help Clear Some Misconceptions by atlwireles:
murtalaa: It only takes a few educated people who know how to run a region to turn the fortunes of the North around. With good administrative skills, all the almajiris and illiterates you mentioned could be made productive through job creation and a new breed of highly skilled and educated people could be harvested if carefully planned.
The problem in the north is not the lack thereof "administrative skills". But the overwhelming component religion plays in the daily life of the average northerner. That must be addressed, without which progress will be scanty
