Congrats Idng. I need to tap into this direct grant glory.

So I applied for my 489 in July (Front loaded PCC and medicals) and just wondering if I need to upload a NEW Nigeria police clearance as the one I submitted says "valid for 3 months"huh?

It's going to be 3 months in few days and I really wanna make sure there is no CO contact as that usually makes the processing longer.

Sadly average score do not apply. You need a minimum of 79 in each section to claim 20 points.

tunlex01:
Please I need clarification on the 20 points for English test.
For example if an applicant has LSRW 89,87,80,76 in PTE (cumulative score is 83), can the person claim 20 points or must each band be 79 and above to claim 20 points?

Thanks brother. It's Riverina and they didn't ask for proof of fund.

Ogenedo:
Congrats Baba Aub430, please which region/territory nominated you?

Did they ask for Proof of fund?

Guys ITA don drop for 489 visa.

At the moment, due to maintenance, I'm unable to log on to skillsselect to see what document is required. However I was just wondering what extra thing do I need to include in my application to ensure a direct grant??

Thanks
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Aub430: 12:51am On Jun 29, 2018
No it's Riverina, it's all sorted now thanks. But yes you are right FSC is notorious, they got no time to be messing around.

Btw guys it is possible to certify electronic copies of your documents. All you need to do is show the original in your email or website to the person certifying your document.

If regional approves to provide nomination, I wonder how long it takes to get an ITA

Beemer:
Are you applying 489 to FSC? They ask for certified everything and they're notorious; if it's not certified, they'll reject your application after 3 months with no refund. Please find a way around it if you can.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Aub430: 10:13pm On Jun 21, 2018
They got me confused by asking for these:

Certified copy English Language Test
Certified copy of Skills Assessment
And more...

I will probably upload the soft copies I have.

Thank you.

bellong:
I don't think you need to certify any of them. Just upload it as it was sent to you.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Aub430: 8:20pm On Jun 21, 2018
This is prolly a stupid question but how do you certify your pte result when you've only got a soft copy?

489 visa nomination application requires you to certify both skills assessment LOD and PTE result copy but I only access them online.

Just a quick question guys. My occupation is non prorata and I got my assessment back today so I can go ahead with my EOI. However I want to know if it's worth selecting 489 alongside 190 as I only have 55 pointshuh

If I get a nomination for 489, can I reject it if I'm still hoping for 190 invitation? Just a bit worried 489 might limit my chances to get a good job since I will be limited to a town right?

Hopefully when I clear my English test to a superior level, I can up my point and be eligible for 189.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Aub430: 4:48pm On Apr 23, 2018
Thanks for the tips bro. I filed for my assessment already but they have reported it takes 8-10 weeks due to high volume of applications. So I probably still got another 4 weeks of waiting (sighs!).

I have 10 points with my current English level but the total will be 60 for 190 (fingers crossed for nomination but I will prolly grow grey hair waiting for ITA). With a superior english, I will be eligible and armed with 65 points for 189 and a decent 70 points for 190, which I think might give me a good chance as I'm a non-prorata professional.

Lastly, Alphadoor posted some links on this page today, lets get busy with those bro. Also, for my last test, I practised using "Navjot Brar" videos and sample essays on youtube. While reading aloud, make sure you use a speechnote software and practice on words the software do not pick on.

Akachukwu123:
Please I need practice materials for PTE in case u have too...
I passed assessment last year with engineers Australia, but I've been struggling to get 20 points in Pte or Ielts. But, I believe Pte is better. If u have made 65 and above in Pte then u can claim 10 points for English test. I advice u start the assessment process as it can take weeks or even months to get a positive outcome...

Cheers bro.

Thanks for the awesome and loaded material. I will definitely get busy with those in hopes that I will share a testimony too.

Btw, just to clarify, are you suggesting I buy any of the packages found on ptetutorial or surewayenglish?

Cheers

I have been following this thread for a while and I have finally decided to register. I am in the process of getting my skills assessed but I desperately need to upgrade my PTE to 20 points. Respect to @spyroxy1 @Azy123 @afosahid @bellong @Alphadoor and everyone who have made 20 points.

Please where can I practice test questions that will help? I'm writing again in 3 weeks and I want it to be my last.

Btw after giving PTE my all, I had over 70 across all the sections but below 79. Please I need pointers for all the sections. Aussie on my mind day and night.
TravelRe: Preparing For PTE? Get In Here by Aub430: 5:38pm On Apr 22, 2018
We are actually in the same boat. I had a total of 75. All categories above 70 but below 79. For pronunciation, I got 78, making sure you speak loud into the mic and pronouncing words such as: to, case, next, through, but, art, healthy, emerge, aesthetics, aren't, unhealthy, with, without (etc) correctly really helped. Make sure you hitting the 'th' sound.

Use a speech note and practice on words the software does not pick up.

Have you found more pointers? how did you manage to hit 'awesome' 90 in your fluency?
