Why should a section of country adopt a different law from others?
“The Nigerian constitution stipulates that we are Nigerians first and then Muslims (or Christians) second. However, some fanatic northern Nigerian elected officials are insisting that Muslims are Muslims first and Nigerians second and, therefore, are entitled to live by the sharia Islamic law. The contradiction is these elected officials were elected through a secular constitution that is the supreme legal document of the land. Each official swore to uphold the constitution. After being elected, some Muslim officials now want that constitution subordinate to sharia law. Proponents of sharia argue that the constitution guarantees freedom of religion while opponents argue that freedom of religion does not mean that Islam will be the state religion and take precedence over the constitution. When a northern Nigerian state adopts Islam as the state religion, it in fact puts the state above the nation and its constitution. In other words, “freedom of religion” does not entitle some northern states to create an Islamic state within the secular state of Nigeria. It said since the police have not been overwhelmed by the attackers, military option is not on the table. Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd) stated this on a Sunday midnight television programme “Question Time” on Channels TV. “We must protect the country which is the main function of the police. The Civil Defence are there to complement them too. “This is a non-military issue that borders on law and order. It is not every security issue that you call in the military. It is the responsibility of the police to maintain peace. I believe that if we put the police in proper position in terms of discharging its functions, then there would be no need for military option. The police are equal to the task. 1.The Hausa has their own country,becausethey have their own constitutions and feel it is their birth right to oppressed the other tribes and ethnic group.
2.The issue of the Igbos, the entire south east is so glaring that: their obedience to the rule of Law and fear of God has kept them from going by any violent,learning from the previous civil war.
3.The other south south which include the Niger Delta are equally already on their own;having suffered also like the Igbos, from their recent statement unlike the pre- civil time are ready to be with the Igbos as Biafra.
4.The Middle belt who the Hausas claimed had been their slaved have come to the realization of their pre- civil war mistakes, when they beheaded the Igbos sent home to their land through the trains by the hausas and sent headless beings to the Igbo land.
5.While we can’t speak for the Yorubas, because of their chameleon nature, but all we know is that they have been one hand behind the Hausa and on the other hand waiting for any break up so that they will claim and declare Oduduwa republic.
