If I had realized that my NIN Date of birth was different from the one in my passport, I would have gone for ordinary passport that doesn't require NIN.

Know that they don't encourage DIY at festac office else you may wait for so long before you get it. I can give you a contact of an immigration officer there. He bills 30k to get it done within 3 days.

I will just forfeit the earlier payment I made for epassport and go for this one if NIN head office doesn't open officially next month.

I can never spend total of 45k just to change date of birth unofficially this period

What is the difference pls? But I can use ordinary passport, I don’t really need NIN cuz I need the passport renewed on time and since NIN ain’t working for now , so tell me the difference thanks

Nimc office nationwide is shut except the ones at immigration offices which allows only people who applied for epassport.

If you want to do change of date of birth with nimc, it has to pass three different offices including DG office at Abuja before the change is effected. That's why it takes maximum of three months to be completed.Those offices are currently under lock for official purpose

You can use nimc at immigration offices to register or modify any data in your NIN since they can handle swift service that doesn't need any approval from above

Do you mean I can register for NIN number as new user at immigration office? Pls do you know if they can give me the NiN number that same day in order to renew my passport ?

All passports currently being issued by NIS are e-passports differentiated by improvement as standard and enhanced. The improvements are NIN inclusion, 10yrs validity, and other enhancement.

I don’t have NIN number and I went there they are still closed ,what if I wanna have a passport without NIN number , I think they can do it for me right? Having NIN number on your passport really doesn’t make any difference to me? Does it? Passport is passport

If you choose the enhanced passports (costing ₦25,000 for 5yrs 32pages, ₦35,000 for 5yrs 64pages or ₦70,000 for 10yrs 64pages. There is about ₦2800 additional fee for each) you need a NIN, which you will see on the passport data page when you get one.

You don't need a NIN if you choose the standard e-passport. You get the choice of standard or enhanced before making payment and this depends on your choice of application processing (capturing) centre (e.g Ikoyi versus Alausa for Lagos).

Thanks but what is the difference between having a passport showing my NIN or having a passport not showing NIN? I bet someone can still use both to travel out. Right?

I was there yesterday and they said they only print slip and doesn't do modification of age for now cuz of covid except unofficially which attracts extra 30k+15k for official payment. If not that I have already made payment for epassport, I would just go to immigration office at festac and do ordinary standard passport that doesn't require NIN.

Hello guys please I want to renew my passport , is it possible without having NIN number? I heard nin offices are closed for now due to Covid19
Can immigration renew it for me without the NIN number
