Let us try to improve the quality of this forum towards creating an enabling environment that guides us in making the right trade decisions and also tries to predict the direction of the market as a whole.

Further, the thought did occur to me at some point that members of this forum could be united in action; to sail our investments in the same direction such that we could impact any particular stock (small ones of course) and guide it's outcome.

However, this thought started to fade away when I started realizing the short level of some of the investors here (pls this is not criticism) i.e. a young starter with a goatee holding a N50,000 portfolio. This kind of investor would be inadequate for carrying out our goal.

Maybe if we had more expert investors here and more investors with N5m portfolios maybe 20 in number and they were united in that singular course of action then we could actually bet on sure things!

wink

"Your choice of the adjective "unusual" made your comment seem more like a criticism than a congratulatory massage."

yes it seemed like... and instead of u clarifying with the critic or soothing the one who u assumed was criticized with words of congratulations. instead u decided to offer criticism in response. How thoughtful of you. Read your comment very well and stop faking innocence about your approach. Who are u kidding?!

"The fact that you were so eager to respond..."

Look at u talking about eager. I hadn't even sat down after posting the first comment before u excitedly jumped all over it with your rudeness. U were there when she posted comments about her good fortune, u did not comment o. (No no, why should u spend energy on wishing others well?)As soon as I posted my comment u then decided to come out 'eagerly' and expend negative energy.

Who wants your lame apologies. The circumstance is UNUSUAL period! and if u hadn't agreed with my very first post then u too.....TOUGH.

For Investors the first beauty of CHRISTMAS is in connecting with our loved ones. The second is having a very Green portfolio.

May these two beauties continue to lift all of us up in abundant Joy and Happiness all the way to the coming New Year!

Once again I wish you all and your families a very Merry CHRISTMAS...

Pls house as the new year approaches let's have new rules that respect one another's comments without being negatively critical. Mind you Criticism is good only when it is CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM

What's unusual about buying a good car cheaper than expected?
If u had read the comments posted by her carefully before jumping right out to attack me... People don't become owners of cars by simply waking up in the morning and receiving a sudden phone call with an offer to purchase at phenomenal discount. This is what makes it unusual and since it's positive, it becomes very special. That's why she is celebrating. U will only understand this if u own one or actually been around people who do.
U should further spend your time posting her congrats (cause u haven't) instead of using the time posting rude queries on others who wish her well.

Growing up in Nigeria, i have always heard this popular slogan, which says that, the rich gets richer while the poor, poorer. I have also come to the conclusion that, the poor gets poorer because, they sit down, criticize and analyze. While the rich, plan and strategize. I always hear people talk about the cowboys here dumping on other peoples head. Have you ever sat down to think why are they always coming at the die minute to buy and take profits? The answer is because they are smarter than you and they want to take the little you have and add to theirs. So as a sharp man, all you need do is play the game along with them and join in the league of cowboys, rather than criticizing and analyzing. People talk to much here, just wake up and be wise. A lot of people fail exams because they wanna write and give more references more than their lecturer. Happy investing
Once again cheers to u! "Poor, poorer" then they get critical then jealous

Hi mates,
It is good to see that money is being made on the NSE. I stayed clear from the market after getting my fingers burnt during the 2008/09 meltdown but, I am ready to come back.
My question is, which is the best online trading platform out there? I am looking for a platform that is good on the following areas:
1. Low commission on trades
2. Real time quotes with fast trade execution
3. Stop loss order
4. Etc
So far, I have heard about Morgan itrade, Meristem meritade, Greenwich mytradebook and Investment one easytrade. Your suggestion/contribution will be highly be appreciated.
Thanks
I joined Morgan Capital in June as my first and currently only online broker. It has been superb, no complaints at all. Cheers

Hello Guys!
I am beginning to think that the NSE is a scam. Why is the market suddenly green. NO new information, nothing!
There is a detectable cycle. Market becomes green a bit, everybody sees the green and tries to benefit, this brings about more green. Some people get satisfied with their profit and start bailing out, this action halts the green, everybody tries to scramble out and the red resurfaces again fully.
Okay, the above is clear but I need an answer. Who/What determines when the the market will become green after a long period of bears? especially when there is no new material public information.
But there is "new material"....

Christmas!!

Yes, with the devaluation foreign investors might be tempted to crawl back in. They bought dollars at N160 and split. Now they can sell the same dollar at N175.... and settle in in time for the dec/jan/feb market upswing

The NSE ASI currently stands at 37550.24.During the major sell off in march 2014 by FPIs due to QE tapering, the NSE ASI dipped to 37274.04.

If the ASI drops further to 37,000,either of two things could happen; attractive dividend yields might awaken investors appetite and drive the index a bit higher or the fear of the unknown might drag the index further down the hill.

speaking of unity bank,it seems going to be a long ride before we can offload imagine over 2m naira hanging indolent in that bizness.God help common man.
Regarding unity bank, after the share construction of 1 for 4, a door of opportunity will be open for both sellers (those eager to get out at reduced price) and buyers (those who don’t mind owning unity but at discounted prices).

Observing the ASI you see the highest points of bull and bear seasons during the last 3 election periods.
A – B – C - D.
