who are the uneducated Dr. Avicky.
The market women, the unskilled workers, those who don't have formal education, they usually don't speak standard English.

wit all dis reasons u r giving,y den wud u say our english here is beta off?
The British does not insert the central vowel 4 in alll their words but the Ghanaians do, that's why it is perceived that they speak better but in reality Nigerians speak correctly the British English the way we received it.

What do you mean by highly educated? Is it because they have won awards recognised internationally? Hmmmm what is your criteria?
The criteria i used is because the uneducated speak Nigerian English and not the British received pronunciation. That doesn't mean you and I can't speak standard English.

The higly educated in Nigeria speak standard English better than Ghanaians. The likes of Wole Soyinka, Chimamanda, Osofisan and the rest.

yes it is debatable. I have stayed in ghana for 3yrs running a programme,my dear it is incomparable,Ghanaian english is better off dan ours
In my opinion, i don't think it's better. They have the central vowels which is absent in our phonemic inventory. And they insert central vowel in every word they speak . I don't have the symbols.

what is this? Are Nigerian graduate not good enough? Smh.
I am currently working on my thesis and it's about the prejudice of Ghanaian English over Nigerian English.

So I will like to use your comment in my data. I need your permission.

In your opinion, do you think Ghanaians speak standard English better than Nigerians?

Well said dear.. Also facing some challenges too bout teaching. I read education but don't av passion for teaching. I had to accept my admission back then hoping I will change later... Just wished I had changed. I even picked a course I don't really have interest in cos my dad kinda discouraged me from the one I really have passion for. But I'm sure God will see me tru

Your last comments shows that Nigeria economy is unpredictable.
Offcourse. I have seen graduates carrying head pans in sites. I have seen them as chauffeurs. So anything can happen.

Any govt can sleep and wake up one day and make a policy that all teachers without education certifications should teach. So what will happen to our beloved amateurs who have the passion and have gathered experience ?

I am not weighing anyone down with my comment. The last time I checked, I have the freedom of expression. I am entitled to my opinion. Not enforcing it on you or anyone else.

I am not saying amateurs can't do better than professionals. Don't misunderstand me. After all, I was once an amateur. Amateurs that have passion should endeavor to get a professional backing that's all because of unknown policies that can crop up.

So, what are you saying? That because of unemployment most graduates delve into it. Are you aware that even the so called professionals are in the bank working? Even the amateurs are better than the trained teachers.
Yes, I say it. Most people teach because that's the only job readily available. And most of them that read education, may not have the passion but were given the admission grudgingly. So they come out looking for bank, oil and gas etc.

I didn't study education. But i have the passion for it and I went for trainings and did my pgde.

I got my first ever regret message some days ago, actually it wasn't a message it was communicated to me verbally after a written test which I shouldn't have even failed on a very good day (*must have been a not too good day sha for me and the fact that that was my first ever JOB test*).
though am yet to do the compulsory NYSC but have been applying to schools and I got this positive response from a school to come for an interview, *still wondering what attracted them to my CV sha*, I guess God just favoured me (One of the Best Schools In Nigeria, L J). Travelled down to the place for the interview but it was quite unfortunate I didn't make it past the test stage.

Anyway, I know there better days ahead.
For you reading this, don't give up on your Dreams, you will see its reality ONE day.

And a big thanks to all the Ogas in this thread we appreciate your Priceless contributions.

Hello, Goodmorning sir,

I'm Stella from Osun state, Please I wish to apply as a subject Teacher for Physics in your school, I'm a Fresh Graduate of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo. I studied Physics and Education {BSc(Ed)} and I finished with CGPA of 4.68 on a scale of 5.00,although my final year result is yet to be out, Please I dont have any Teaching Experience except the Teaching Practice I did in my 300 level and I had an "A" grade, I can only get letter of Introduction from my HOD who was also my Project Supervisor, stating the above status of mine.

Please by considering the above, Am I eligible to apply to your school?

Thanks.
Adeyemi Federal ke? I thought it's Adeyemi University of Education? lipsrsealed

Anyways, send your cv to his mail. I'm sure you're are qualified certificate wise but your inadequate experience though. But one has to start from somewhere anyways. So give it a shot.

It's so frustrating interviewing applicants these days. In the past two months, I've interviewed about 15 applicants who although possessed degree certificates have nothing to show for it. Imagine a graduate who cannot spell the word 'Proprietor' correctly. Some who manage to pass our written test fail the micro teaching aspect. They are unable to communicate effectively with the students. In fact when after a session I sought the students' opinion, they responded that that particular applicant should be employed to teach the kindergarten class. I begin to wonder if students still learn in our tertiary institutions?

Christfield Private School Ado Ekiti is still searching for good teachers for the new session due to start in September. Interested applicants should please forward their CV to christfieldschool@yahoo.com.
Xtfield.. I doff my hat. The challenge is that many graduates are taking up the teaching job because their dream job is not forth coming. They are not trained professionals but amateurs.

By the way, do you still give out accommodation? I will be in Unad next week to get a friend's transcript, maybe I will stop by. I need a part time job wink
Although, i know your school can't pay me, my mouth dan wide o. But I don't mind.

avicky, evathyst, kendraloops, endtime1 for your attention.
Imo, it is the same. It's just a change in nomenclature.

A lesson plan may be a summary of all your topics for the week in each class you will take. It may be in a tabular from, while the lesson note is detailed. It contains age, date, class, topic, sub-topic, subject, behavioral objectives, instructional aids, introduction, previous knowledge, reference, content, presentation (step I to IV at least), evaluation, conclusion and assignment.

Thank you for giving us feedback. I am sure someone has learnt that one has to make effort before you see the needed result. Permit me to ask,
1. How long have you been at home?
2. Is this your first job?
3. Do you believe in starting small?
4. Do you stay with your parents or relatives?
Please provide answers to the above questions.
Answer GoldenDr 's question before I advise you.
