Mayor_of_Lagos:

Eko Atlantic is zoned. It is expected to have its own grounds facilities management and security with closed circuit tv. The facilities will be buried and due to high visibility not much is expected in way of vandalism, thereby a somewhat high level of safety and guarantee that any investment in facilities will be sustainable.

You seem to know so much about Eko Atlantic. So much so you're eagerly spilling your guts here. You either work for one of the companies involved in that fraud or one of the individuals perpetuating it. Taxpayer's money. Una go hear weeen!!

Kairoseki77:

Kingston obviously uses a different system.

If we are talking about an open drainage system, then we must compare with other open drainage systems before we say that they ONLY exist in third world countries.

Can you steal the grates in NYC, YES!

Why?

Because they have an open drainage system like we do in Lagos. I have no idea what they do in Kingston, and don't really care.

If you think we should CHANGE to Kingston's system, that is different. But comparing the two is ridiculous and pointless.

You're such an obdurate fooool. Why do you keep digging when you're in such a deep hole?

Sagamite: If he is released 2016 and Nigerians are dumb enough to vote for the Silverback Gorilla person called Jonathan, the husband of the Sheppopotamus, in 2015 then expect him to be appointed by the Gorilla as probably Minister of Foreign Affairs or even Chairman of NDDC upon his release.

Foolishness on open display. Who ran the Ibori out of town in the first place? No be the same Jonathan? I swear, your stupidity is beyond words.

Politics / Re: Lagos Cancels Lekki-epe Expressway Concession by awhagwan: 9:05am On Aug 28, 2013
software man:
iif you check your records LCC owned by the chagouries has been in the Nigerian construction industry
since the early nineties.

A concession arrangement involves a company using its own money to develop infrastru
cture and then recover its money over a given period of time after which the infrastructure reverts back to the govt. Usually with these contracts is what is called a buy back option which apparently Lagos state is now trying to exercise for wider policy option.

Interestingly, the PDP controlled federal govt has failed severally in every since concession projects they ever attempted and I can understand how very ignorant and misguided people who lack the capacity to make meaningful contribution to POLICY discussions end up coming here to expose their crass ignoramce and stupidity.

Must you display your stupidity so publicly? LCC came into being in 2006, and does not belong to the Chaghoury's. They hold a small stake in Hitech. That's it.

Furthermore, APC is now playing catch-up to the PDP led FG who cancelled Bi-Courtney's concession on Lagos Ibadan expressway within 3 years of the award. LCC have been on Lekki Epe Expressway for 8 years and have exploited the people for at least 3 years out of that 8!!!

chukwudi44: As things are going,
This may lead to a review of the constitution to restrict voting to state of origin .

You really make me laugh!! Who will do the review ? You or fashola?

It is obvious that APC is going to loose the next gubernatorial polls in lagos. If PDP should go ahead and field a popular candidate like Jimi Agbaje, their fate would have been sealed.Should 95 percent of igbos and the south-south vote against APC coupled with votes from other yorubas who support the PDP,it would be over for the APC

Oh boy, you're not current. Jimi is sooo 2007. PDP already has a better candidate than Jimi Agbaje. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi is waaaaaaaaayyyyy better than Jimi Agbaje or anybody else the Asiwaju Peoples Congress can produce right now. He is the new face of PDP in Lagos State and will win the 2015 elections if they give him the ticket, walahi. That guy tells it exactly like it is, even to his own party! Lagos Youths are solidly behind him. Jimi is old school, and he's not even a PDP member!
Politics / Re: What's Happening On The Lagos Badagry Axis (2) by awhagwan: 11:43am On Aug 02, 2013
naptu2:

There are deadlines. Around a month and a half or 2 months ago the governor went on an inspection tour of projects. According to him, the projects he was inspecting are projects that had one problem/delay or the other and he took his entire team with him because he wanted to solve problems on the spot. Amongst the projects inspected were the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Badagry Expressway and some other projects that I can't remember at the moment.

At the Lekki Bridge he said the delay was caused by issues that had to do with the toll plaza and they were working to resolve those issues. At Ozumba Mbadiwe he said the contractor needed to access Bonny Camp to work on a drainage channel, but the army authorities were denying the contractor access to the channel (the army authorities have now allowed the contractor to work at Bonny Camp and the road work is scheduled to be completed by July). At Badagry Expressway he said that CCECC needed to complete work (piling, etc) before Julius Berger can start the second phase. He said that they had learnt from the first phase when Julius Berger started work before CCECC started its on part of the job and this affected progress. He said the first phase of the of the rail project (Orile - Mile 2) will be completed in June. So I expect to see trains running between Orile - Mile 2 by the end of this month. I passed there about 3 weeks ago. They were laying the tracks between Orile and Mile 2. There was a dummy train there which is being used to test the tracks.

The bolded above was June. Today is the first of August, two months later. Still no show for any trains on the fake rail project.

Lekki Epe expressway, 23km out of about 80km expansion still uncompleted. Only about 12km completed after 7 years and N50b. Who do you idiots think you're fooling?

You APC fools had better start packing your bags, because you're leaving Lagos in 2015, back to Iragbiji.
Politics / Re: Fashola Replies Peter Obi Over Alleged Deportation Of Igbos From Lagos by awhagwan: 11:23am On Aug 02, 2013
Just so that no Fashole and Tinubu ass-suckers will come and call me Ibo, I am a Yoruba, Lagos indigene.

I never realised that Fashole was so shallow. I already knew he was a thief, but to try and deflect attention from his thievery with a tribal war by deporting Ibo people from Lagos is a new low for this idiot with sand for brains.

Emi o mo wipe Fash-ole/Fa-soro ya oponu to eleyi o!

Oponu ayirada osi. Lawyer Gb'ewu dani!

It's obvious Fashola is not a Lagos indigene. All true indigenes of Lagos State understand that the wealth of Lagos lies in its population, hence our hospitality that allowed him, the son of an Ekiti man, to become governor in Lagos, and the idiot before him (though he pretended to be a bona-fide Lagosian).

This lack of business sense is killing Lagos and APC will surely pay for it at the next elections. Why does he think evicting Ibos will help Lagos? Does he not realise that rental values will fall if Ibos leave, and the property market will be destroyed? Does he not realise that the economy of Lagos will go into depression if this happens?

What type of fool is this Tinubu houseboy sef?

The only thing that this project demonstrates is that Fashola bought the SAN title. He is either an unbelievably uninformed lawyer or a chronic lawbreaker.

Section 1 of the 4th Schedule of the Constitution says that Local Government councils are responsible for the Control and Regulation of Outdoor Advertising and Hoarding, yet Fashola, a lawyer, a so called SAN, allows LASAA to continue to exist, all in the name of making more money for himself and Thief-nubu, abi?

Desecrating the same constitution he swore to defend. Soon, nemesis will catch up with all of them.

If it has an excision, why is a "global C of O" in process?

Ehhhhnnnnn!!!!? This is would have been unbelievable in 2010, but today, we now know ALL of these allegations to be true!!!

I now know that Lagosians are all certified Mumus!!!

How can one man pocket 20 million people like this? Thief-nubu, you try gaan o!! Chai!!!
felele:

Er, actually, my good Dr. Kitaun, no. You couldn't be further from the truth on that one.

Besides the fact that I DO NOT do government contracts, I actually suspected this deal from day one, when they said it would cost N50 billion. It's not a completely new road, fer chrissakes, even if it were, it would still not cost N1 billion per kilometre!

The clincher for me was the sudden need of the Lagos State government of the day to part with 1500 hectares of prime Lekki land as their own contribution to the deal. If they are contributing about HALF the cost of building the road, why not kuku finance the whole thing with taxpayers' funds, which they alleged was about N8 billion gross per month (Tinubu's boast on IGR, not mine), and not disenfranchise the indigenous landowners in the name of "Public Private Partnership", their buzzword of the time?

I am just pissed that Ikorodu road was built by some individuals with their funds and contributions from others, yet they did not ask for a penny in return, yet so called Governors are annexing public property in the name of development. Tinubu must think we all have sawdust for brains.

Fashola NEEDS TO CANCEL THIS DEAL AND RETURN THE ROAD TO PUBLIC OWNERSHIP, while at the same time revoke the 1500 hectares allocated to ARM and return same to the indigenous people who own the land!!!!

Please tell us, after the 5km, plus patapata 2km on either side, where else do you and your shit-for-brains godfathers plan to take this pie in the sky you want to use to defraud Lagosians, after 14 years of empty promises?

Where will the remaining 19km be? Or are you so innumerate you don't understand the math?
Politics / Re: Images Of What The Propose 4th Mainland Bridge Will Look Like by awhagwan: 2:54pm On Jun 17, 2013
Forgive me for asking o, but is the commissioner for works utterly brainless and completely stupid? The distance between Langbasa and Baiyeku is probably about 5km at the longest.

How does he plan to fit a 26km bridge into a 5 km space? Does he plan to start it in the Atlantic Ocean and end it on Sagamu road, Ikorodu?

Obviously, these people are mad and dishonest. There is no plan to build any yeye bridge. It's just a very sophisticated con. A scam. Another conspiracy to take 1500 hectares (like Lakowe Lakes) and use it to borrow $362m and still put toll gates on it for another 30 years, thereby completing the imprisonment of the people of Lekki.

How do they plan for the traders on the lower ramp to get to km 13 of the bridge on foot?

Who do they propose will be the customers of those traders? Who in their right minds will WALK 26km from one side of the bridge to the other?

Armed Robbers. I am more convinced now than ever that ACN is the Association of Criminals in Nigeria!!

Properties / Re: Land @ Ikorodu by awhagwan: 12:13am On May 28, 2009
This "estate" is on land that's in contention before the High Court of Lagos State, sitting in Ikorodu, before Justice Habeeb Abiru.

The plaintiffs got an ex-parte injunction against the respondent, who had been in occupation but was physically forced off the land, pending the determination of their substantive suit. They failed to show up in court to defend their injunction, and the injunction was vacated by the judge. The substantive suit is in court, still to be determined.

Hi Mr Lekki, I really did not find it appropriate to reply your post, unfortunately I am compelled to do so. There are just two things you have to work on to earn people's friendship. You wouldnt mind considering lowering your aggressiveness, would you?, secondly, your bad manner has to go. Nairalanders are Nigeria's young professionals, ofcourse i doubt if you fit in. I've had the priviledge and honour of speaking with Nairalanders in diaspora and I bet they will feel so insulted reading your mannerless posts. Upon fixing your bad manners, Nairalanders would appreciate it if you could come back and apologise to MTN Nigeria on this thread. I want to believe this thread has a moderator, I would suggest we cyber warn him by putting on hold his handle for 3 months.

I said the quality of the help is getting worse by the day, and you proved it with your next post. Just how much of a comprehension deficit do you have, and how much of it can your fellow "young professionals" cope with

Evidence One:
I empathised with MTN that a member of their staff is using their time to look for friends on the internet, when he should be working his butt off for the undoubtably handsome remuneration he gets from them. Your response? I should apologise to MTN. Oh yes, I see, for empathising with them as a fellow employer of labour, abi?? You clearly either cannot read, or cannot comprehend what you do read.

Evidence two:
There is not one insulting or mannerless word in my post, yet you accuse me of being mannerless. Can't you read? Do you not see that I'm stating the obvious in my post?? Is it not true that you're not a middle aged woman who lives in Lekki? My first post states what I want, and that's clearly not you or anyone like you. Do you not get that AT ALL?? Are you not in the employ of MTN, and are you not posting on Nairaland ON THEIR TIME?

You clearly lack self esteem, judging by your juvenile reference to "nairalanders in the diaspora". As if that diasporan status in itself is some end to aspire to. You call yourself a young professional. HA! HA! HA! is my response to that. Professional skiver? Professional nairalander? Professional help desk operator Do you even have the faintest idea what a professional is? Do not insult the true professionals, my young friend, the lawyers, architects, master masons, plumbers, drivers and other such individuals who are truly dedicated to their professions and have no time for frivolities during their working hours.

Finally, get off this thread and start your own if you MUST be on Nairaland. Oh, I forgot, you don't know how.
