Culture / New Dawn In Odo-oro Ekiti As Oba Aladesodedero 1 Receives Instrument Of Office by Ayeebaba(m): 6:44pm On Nov 04, 2019
It was a dawn of a new era in Odo-Oro Ekiti on Saturday as the newly appointed monarch of the town, Oba Babatunde Adebayo Jemilehin, Aladesodedero 1, the Onise of Odo-Oro Ekiti, was given his Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office by Governor John Kayode Fayemi, who was represented by his deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi.

At the coronation ceremony held at the playing field of Odo-Oro High School, colourfully dressed sons and daughters of the ancient town trooped out in their thousands to witness the epoch making ceremony. Various traditional groups and age grades joined in the fanfare.

Speaking while presenting the Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the new Onise, Chief Egbeyemi expressed confidence that with the legal background of the new monarch, "it would not be difficult for the Oba to foster cooperation an unity among your people to elevate your community to an enviable status".

The Ekiti State Deputy Governor also appealed to "the good people of Odo-Oro Ekiti to allow the spirit of oneness and sincerity of purpose to reflect in your support and cooperation with the kabiyesi", adding that such "is a basic requirement at this time when Odo-Oro Ekiti in dire need of accelerated development".

"Your Royal Majesty, today you are being confirmed to be the custodian of culture and tradition of Odo-Oro people. You must strive to accommodate, endure, persevere tolerate and dutifully serve in your day to day administration of your people. You must also embrace all and sundry in the discharge of your duties", he counselled.

Describing the event as "another milestone" the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Chieftaincy Affairs, Ekiti State, Mr. Adeniyi Familoni, noted that the activities leading to the coronation ceremony "started 24th June, 2019, when the Bureau of Chieftaincy Affairs directed Ikole Local Government to set in motion necessary machinery for the Niniosukarun Ruling House to fill the vacant stool in line with Chieftaincy Declaration of Onise Odo-Oro Ekiti".

"It is worthy of note that the entire process leading to the selection of the Kabiyesi-elect was done without rancour and his emergence was generally accepted by all sons and daughters of Odo-Oro Ekiti", Familoni enthused.

In her remarks at the ceremony, the Executive Chairman, Ikole Local Government Area, Princess Abiola Olukayode, who also hails from the community, expressed joy that the selection process "produced a unanimously and generally acceptable candidate in Prince Babatunde Adebayo Ojo Jemilehin as the sole candidate and was confirmed by the kingmakers". She appealed to the people to join hands with the new Oba to ensure a peaceful and progressive reign.

Welcoming guests to the ceremony, Chief Timothy Foluso Oluwagbemi, the Aro of Idofin and Chairman, Oba's Coronation Planning Committee, thanked all those who contributed one way or the other to make the ceremony a huge success.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Aladesodedero 1 said that he was "humbled and overwhelmed by the show of affection, love and goodwill of the people of Odo-Oro Ekiti since my selection process started; up to my installation on October 14 and up till today.

"The selection process was unprecedentedly peaceful without any rancour because of the understanding of my brothers princes. The maturity o the entire Ilise and Niniosukarun Ruling House can never go unnoticed. The way we all accepted the outcome of the selection process without allowing the unpleasant history of the past to repeat itself shows that a new lease of life and bright light have come to stay in Odo-Oro Ekiti and in the ruling house. No amount of money could buy the honour I have today", the monarch said, urging his subject to feel free to offer him useful suggestions.

The Onise of Odo-Oro Ekiti stool, it would be recalled, became vacant on August 20, 2018 when the then Onise, Oba Joseph Oyegbadebo, Ogunsakin Olowoselu 1, from Akowojobiokikun Ruling House joined his ancestors.

Among the dignitaries at the ceremony were Oba Adekunle Adebowale, the Agbolu of Ife, who represented the Ooni of Ife. His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Alawe of Ilawe kiti and Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Obas, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, Afuntade 1, the Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Adewumi Ajibade Fasiku, the Olojebu of Ijebu Agege Ekiti, Oba Ezekiel Idowu Awe, the immediate Regent of Odo-Oro Ekiti, Princess Aeronke Olowoselu Nelso Aremo; the penultimate regent of the town, Princess Omowumi Ayegbusi; the Amuro of Temidire Ekiti, Oba Femi Kupoluyi among others.

The new Oba, a lawyer by profession, is Oba Ojo Babatunde Adebayo Jemilehin Aladesodedero 1. He succeeded Oba Joseph Ibiloye Ogusakin Olowoselu 1 , who joined his ancestors on August 20, 2018.

"It is a thing of joy for all sons and daughters of Odo-Oro Ekiti that a new Onise of Odo-Odo Ekiti was installed today. Today remains a watershed in the history of this town as we end the regency period that nature imposed on us following the transition of Oba Olowoselu 1 in 2018", Chief Aro stated.

The statement urged "all indigenes of Odo-Oro Ekiti both at home and in the Diaspora and tenants and sojourners to join hands with the new Oba to move Odo-Oro to a higher level of our dreams. The installation of Oba Aladesodedero 1 is just one of the hurdles we have to cross as we have the bigger ceremony of the coronation of the oba, where the staff of office and other paraphernalia and instruments of authority will be presented by the government and other traditional institutions to the new kabiyesi".

Activities leading to the installation of the new monarch began with his unanimous selection by the entire ruling houses of Elilabojuawakawa, Akeejobiokikun and Eniosukarun, now called Niniosukarun, his candidature having been endorsed by all stages of divinations known to the Onise selection processes. His selection was approved by the Ekiti State Government Executive Council.

APC Plans To Upturn Supreme Court Judgement On My Election – Fayose

Channels Television.
Updated December 13, 2015

The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has raised alarm over what he calls a plan by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to upturn the judgement of the Supreme Court on the 2014 governorship election.

Mr Fayose at a press conference in Lagos on Sunday said that there were attempts by the ruling party to use the military inquiry reports when delivered to upturn the Supreme Court judgement.

“They went to Kaduna and after all submissions, they want to now come up and say that military rigged Ekiti election.

“They are releasing their report very soon and they want to come back and say that, knowing fully that the military report holds no water in law, the attorney General of the nation or other agencies of the Federal Government will want that report revealed and that will be issued in Kaduna any time from now.

“They want to use that and approach the Supreme Court to review its position which is not known to law,” he alleged.

Governor Fayose also warned that the situation was capable of killing Nigeria’s democracy, insisting that the governorship election that brought him in was the best.

“Cannot Be Muscled”

He claimed that foreign observers had expressed confidence in the process.

The Ekiti Stat Governor, however, urged the Federal Government not to allow any decision capable of disturbing the nation’s democracy.

“I want to remind them that they are on the verge of destroying democracy in Nigeria. Nigerians, their votes and their views must be respected.

“If the International community said it went well and the US said it went well, I am saying it expressly, Ekiti election was the best.

“The consequences of dictatorship is the fall of the dictator. It is either he treads softly and remember the same Nigerians who gave you opportunity after several attempts. We cannot be muscled,” he stressed.

Can we imagine the pain of Job! At a stage of his life's battles his wife turned against him & Friends deserted him Job 19:13-19. In chapter 1, he lost his children & wealth, Chapter 2, he lost his health, Chapter 3, he cursed the day he was born, In Chapters 4-41, he had false accusations & loneliness but in Chapter 42:10, Lord turned the captivity of Job & gave him twice as much as he had before. There is ALWAYS CHAPTER 42 in OUR LIFE. Good Morning.
Politics / Jonathan Had Become An HERO by Ayeebaba(m): 9:26am On Apr 01, 2015
He has always said his ambition isn't worth the blood of a single Nigerian. We never believed him. Or did you?

Most of us never did until yesterday evening when news filtered in that President Jonathan has called to congratulate the President-elect on his victory at the polls(what that call did to maintain peace in the South South,South East and indeed Nigeria remains a topic for another day).

As I flipped through some pixs on my phone this morning, I looked at the President in the face and I was like: So this man won't kill a soul or rig an election in just 2 or 3 states out of 36 to hold on to power? Ouucchh!!!

I concluded within me as I looked at him again that this is a true hero of democracy. I think he is the foundation on which we can build a Nigeria of our dream. A Nigeria of the ordinary People's dream. A Nigeria where political office holders will hold the masses in high esteem. A Nigeria where politicians bear in mind that the masses are actually the ones with the power to hire and fire! A Nigeria where the fear of the People, the Ordinary People, the Masses becomes the beginning of wisdom for Politicians.

Jonathan has made that Sacrifice.

He has become My Hero!!!

As Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's name is indelibly written on the walls of history, what becomes of those politicians who orchestrated the killings of their people in tens of thousands all in an effort to grab power? What?

Abi no be the same power Wey dem dey find somebody relinquish willingly without hurting a fly? Whatever becomes their lot, I will still rather add my curse to their misfortune than pray for or wish them well.

May the sponsors and supporters of Boko Haram never ever find Peace!

Welcome to our 'envisaged' New Nigeria.
God Bless Nigeri!

Politics / According To Nigeria Retirement Age. Buhari Is Senile by Ayeebaba(m): 12:45pm On Feb 28, 2015
#Retirement Age In Nigeria#

Retirement AGE of Judges of High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court is 70 years.

Retirement AGE of Court Magistrates is 60 years while
Customary Court Presidents is 65 years.

Retirement AGE of Civil Servants is 60 years while University Dons is 70 years.

In the judiciary, it is believed that anybody above 70 years cannot make a SOUND  JUDGEMENT and that obviously, SENILITY would have set in.

If in the opinion of the judiciary, anybody above 70 years cannot make a SOUND JUDGEMENT, how can a sick 73 yr old PA BUHARI make sound decisions as president?

No wonder Pa Buhari called APC ALL PROGRESSIVES CONFIDENCE instead of All Progressives Congress, INEC Independent Nigeria Electoral Commission instead of Independent National Electoral Commission, IBO State instead of Imo State and Osunbade instead of Osinbajo.

Buhari is SENILE, simple! -Lere Olayinka

Finally, Gen. Buhari agreed to the fact that GEJ is a visionary and result driven leader. Here him out...

According to Marx Ohtugo

Buhari Campaigns for President Jonathan at Chatham House, London. Hear him.

"Our economy has grown consistently at the rate of 7% and inflation kept at its minimum."

"Our economy is valued at $510 Billion and it's the largest in Africa."

"30% of eligible voters, a population larger than the total UK voters would not have voted in Febuary, 2015"

----- Buhari at Chatham House.

Who made all these possible......? President Jonathan. So what else...! Case closed!!
