You may begin to wonder, why name a town Ilu Aje?

Scary it is?

Yes it should.

But I’m going to tell you a story.

Story…Story…Story…

Long time ago, the paramount ruler of the Oyo Kingdom, Iku Baba Yeye, The Alaafin of Oyo had a beloved son in whom he is well pleased with.

A prince with innocence, an heir to the throne he is. The Prince with a future to look with.

But then, something happened!

The unexpected happened in the land of Oyo,right there in the king household.

His beloved son was missing!

Why would the Iku baba yeye’s son go missing just like that?

Fear and grief enveloped the town, men and women, old and young. People were awed in misery over the missing prince.

The chief priest and dibias were called upon, divinations were made, but the son remained missing.

The Queen was heartbroken, the King’s household in confusion.

The search continued…

Hunters combed all the forests of Oyo Alaafin in search for the missing prince. The dibias didn’t stop their divinations,but the Crown Prince remained missing.

Days upon hours,days, weeks passed and yet, the Prince could not be found.

The whole town was enveloped with grief.

Then on one market day by noon, an old tattered man landed in the market square asking for directions to the Alaafin’s palace.

The market women looked at him with disdain as a result of his dirty and wrinkled look. After much ado, he was led to the palace.

He was restricted by protocol to see the King, Iku Baba Yeye. The Palace guards inquired why he is there to see the King. He insisted the matter is only for the Alaafin’s ears. He was turned back until one of the guard told the others that they should seek audience with the King and ask his consent.

One of the Palace guards notified the king of the old man’s presence, he was beckoned to see the Alaafin.

On to the king the strange looking old, wrinkled man was led. He prostrated in the King’s presence with greetings laced with a strange intonation.

After that,he sought audience privately with the Alaafin, this means that all the palace guards were excused out of the King’s presence.

After much obeisance, he narrated his name as Akinyolu. He is Akinyolu who lived in a forest near Iseyin, an Hunter, whom life had dealt severe blows on. He had lost his wife and children in an event of a strange animal attack.

After his narration, the King finally asked his mission in Oyo.

Hear him

“Alaafin Ikeji Oosa, iku baba yeye, i learnt of your missing prince and that’s what brought me here. If you can allow me, I may be able to provide answers to the mystery”

The king listened with rapt attention but wasn’t in the least impressed.

The King retorted; “Arakunrin, are you smarter than my dibia’s, who are versed in Yoruba divination, to tell me you would help find my son?. Tell me what exactly you need instead of telling me nonsense”.

The king had raised his voice alerting his Olori (Queen).

The Queen said “Kabiyesi oh, hope there is no problem?.

The King then said “Don’t mind this hungry man, telling me he would do what my priests failed to do”.

The Queen faced the wrinkled-looking stranger and said: “Arakunrin, what exactly do you need?.”

Akinyolu replied : “All hail the Olori, I’m here in respect of your son who had been missing for a while now, if you would allow me, I can help bring the Prince back to your bosom”

The Olori later convinced the Alaafin to give the tattered man a chance to show his folly (for she believed he was just ranting).

The Chief Priests and Palace Chiefs were called upon to the palace.

In a nutshell, Akinyolu was allowed to do whatever he can do to the consternation of other Palace Priests.

To their consternation as no one could easily believe such poor-looking man of spent years could do what other Dibias failed to.

Akinyolu was given a place in the Palace for the night till the next day. The next morning, Akinyolu, with the permission of the king, told the towns dibia’s to all assemble under a big tree beside the palace for seven days and seven nights with their wives coming every day to attend to their domestic needs. This was to go hand-in-hand with a special ritual to be led by Akinyolu himself.

On the seventh day, the dibias were told to clap 21 times with eyes closed.

Around Mid-day, right in the middle of the ritual, came a loud noise from the town.

The King’s son had been found, he just walked in from nowhere!

That was how the missing Prince came home!

The King was over-joyed, so was the Olori and the members of his household.

The whole town celebrated the Prince comeback.

The Chiefs and townsmen were left in awe on what Akinyolu had just done and they all chorused “Aje ni okunrin yi” (This man is indeed a wizard)

The King instructed Akinyolu be clothed in fine apparel and be treated like the important guest he was.

The king later told Akinyolu to ask for anything, just anything, he would be ready to oblige.

Akinyolu said : “Your Highness, all I ask for at my advancing age is that I go back to my forest in peace, you may chose amongst your slaves to follow me back to the forest to live our own life there”

The King obliged and gave Akinyolu gifts and instructed he be given 30 slaves to join him on his journey back to the forest.

Akinyolu was made the Baale of his old forest now a thriving town. As he was called “Aje” by the townsmen, so was his domain named “Ilu Aje” which literally means “The witch town”.

Ilu Aje still exists till date in Afijio Local Government Oyo State.

One half of the defunct P-Square group, Peter Okoye more known as Mr P currently has 6 million followers on the Social Media Page, Instagram ahead of his twin brother who has 4.4 million followers.
But something caught our attention on his Instagram page. He had posted a preview video to his latest collaborative track with one of Apata family music sensation, Niniola (One more night) but like most people who buy fake and robotic followers, there appears to be synthetic followers with Tanzanian and Swahili language mixed in between. His controversy with Diamond Platnumz ex-girlfriend may be a cause. This may be yet another evidence he bought his Instagram followers.
Also, there appears to be a manipulation on his YouTube channel as his videos dropped from 400 thousand views to 383 thousand views, an anomaly evident in manipulation of YouTube views.
His fans called his attention to it on his page with him asserting that viewing it is all that matters not the slope down views.

A facebook user with the name Peace Wodi escaped being shot by stray bullets by whiskers. According to her, the bullet fell beside her.

Posting on Rant HQ Facebook page, she wrote; “My people please help thank this God for saving my life, this flying bullet just fall beside me. I give Him all praises for my life because i did not know what could have happened by now”

Marshal Bernard and Gloria Patricks: Setting the Records Straight

Against the spate of rumours, claims and counter claims on the circumstances surrounding the cancelation of the wedding between our friends Marshal and Gloria, we are constrained to make this official statement to clear all doubts and set the records straight as follows:

1. That Marshal and Gloria had a flourishing relationship which led to the man (Marshal) proposing to Gloria on Sunday 30th September 2018. The relationship was modeled according to Bible standards and by choice and in accordance with Biblical instructions, they agreed NOT to have any sexual relations up until their wedding day.

2. That after series of meetings by both families the traditional wedding was scheduled to hold on Thursday the 18th of April 2019, and the church wedding was fixed for Saturday, the 20th of April, 2019.

3. That after a little misunderstanding between both parties, Gloria, on Sunday the 14th of April, unilaterally canceled their wedding, stating that she and Marshal are incompatible, and as such, insisted that the wedding which was to hold in a few days be canceled.

4. That both Gloria and Marshal have massive respect and admiration for each other, and have at no occasion made any negative allegations against each other, as seen on social media.

5. That Gloria has NO younger sister, and the claim that Marshal had sexual relations with her younger sister is plain stupid. As a matter of fact, Marshal has at all times preached Bible tenets and could not have turned around to practice what he publicly stands against.

6. That both Gloria and Marshal are gainfully employed (one in a commercial bank, the other in one of the state Government House) and were financially transparent to each other.

7. That we have resolved not to make any further statement on this issue and we urge the public to respect their privacy as we continue to pray for their emotional well-being in these trying times. We therefore urge the general public to desist from further speculations and negative comments on this issue.

8. That all claims made in this statement are true and verifiable from both parties.

We reported earlier that the teacher in question, Adebayo Gbadebo was on the run for days after being sacred by the school. In an interesting twist, the said teacher has been arrested. After much pressure, the school officials handed him over to the police after they initially concealed the matter. He was arrested when he turned himself to the police accompanied by the lawyer. Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits.
The passport to learning and getting learned it is.
Going to seek education in a school is part of the processes of Education.
But what happens when children sent to school to acquire knowledge are abused sexually in return? Abused by a teacher whose duty is to impart knowledge into these leaders of tomorrow?
This is the rot we found ourselves in this clime....When people meant to model us are the ones abusing us.
The story coming to Rant HQ blog is that of a teacher in Isolog Schools, Ojudu campus, Lagos Nigeria who has abused and still abusing female students of that citadel of learning.
How unfortunate he got away with this evil and devilish act? More unfortunate he was covered by the school authority until his victims got to 22?
22 female students, Yes 22 he forcefully defiled.
The teacher by the name, Adebayo Gbadebo was the School's Social Coordinator saddled with school's programs and events. As a result, the pupils were free with him and hovered round him. He would then use this responsibility to lay a bait for innocent students, lure them into his place and rape them in return.
The school authority is complicit in this grave sin as they allegedly covered him up without reprimand after being reported by some of the affected students.
The matter got to a twist when a 9-year old pupil summed up courage, reported him to her dad and made public his atrocious acts. The father in turn stormed to the school and queried why such would be allowed to happen in a school supposed to be a building ground for the innocent pupil.
As a result of this, more can of worms got opened with the wife of the randy teacher confirming his pervert ways as he has been doing that in the neighborhood for a while now. Little did she know he would take his nefarious acts to the school pupils.
The school Authority got him relieved of his job but failed to hand him over to the police, a move they did to protect the interest of their school. This is not only unethical but a lack of empathy on the part of the school.
Information reaching us confirms the randy teacher is at large at present.
There is evil under the sun we can safely assert here.
This is calling on Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Education to look into this rather annoying incident, take appropriate actions against the teacher, sanction the School hierarchy for condoning such acts by their staffs. The Government shouldn't just sanction the affected but make sure they are brought to book with the law.

All seems not to be well in Davido Label imprint as the record label boss, David Adeleke more known as Davido is no longer comfortable with rising star, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh more known as Peruzzi Vibes over what Davido termed as disloyalty and non-comformation with the bro-code on the part of Peruzzi. According to a source in the DMW crew who prefers to be anonymous, Perruzi allegedly entered Davido’s bad book as a result of Peruzzi’s knowledge of Chioma Avril Rowland (Davido’s Girlfriend) sexual escapades and unfaithfulness which Peruzzi seems to have knowledge of but prefers not to tell his boss. According to our source, Chioma has been unfaithful to Davido for a while now, dating men outside the shores of the country. This Peruzzi was aware of but choose to keep mum over it. Things got to a fix when Davido allegedly found out about Chioma’s movement from an outside source with the source telling Davido to ask Peruzzi for more details. Davido actually confronted Peruzzi but the half-hearted response from the latter irked Davido who was said to blow out his frustration about Peruzzi’s betrayal. The source further intimated us that Davido is keeping tabs on Chioma’s movement for now before confronting her. Peruzzi Vibes has been an integral part of DMW as he writes 90% of Davido’s songs with Assurance, Fia among other tracks he singularly wrote for his boss, Davido.
