nefertitiram: Hi All,
I lost my babies, poor handling in ICU here in Nigeria, even at 7 months. Another reason why everybody needs to have their baby in the US! I pray no one experiences this kind of loss in Jesus Name,
I have managed to move on. Time to go back to the drawing board, sad loss after trying for a number of years.
I cannot question God.
For the loss you went through, you'll receive a double of joy and fullness. Give Him thanks. Its well

Queenetha: Hi Aykanbi,

woaini: I asked a similar question, I did not get any response. In my case I am not even pregnant yet, no travel history, we want to get a visa to go on vacation first but d main goal is to give birth sometime next year by God's grace. Any advise on what to do? To increase our chances (me hubby n 2kids)
Why don't you focus on your main goal which is to go have a baby because incredible as it sounds, one of the easiest visas to get is the medical tourism one. I don't have any experience with the vacation thingy. Hope someone else on here can help

pattyreal: hello i've been a silent follower also. i'll need serious help. to start with i've never traveled outside d country cos of my previous job. i want to have my 2nd baby in the US. my hubby & i r up to it financially. i'm just 3months gone and i want to start the process on time. i've chosen MIHS. yet to call them sha. please ma friends r insisting i should use tourism since ma belle is not showing, den i'll send dem a letter of my intentions later after my visa has been approved .. pls i need ur advise.
If you are going to the us to have a baby then tell them that at ur visa appointment. You are allowed by right to have a baby in the us as long as you go about it the right way. Trying to cut corners or be sharp is what leads to trouble all the time. I had a virgin visa, Neva travelled before and I stated categorically that my reason for wanting to travel is to go have a baby. As long as ur papers are in order and not contradictory, and you are confident, then u have nothing to worry about

toitoi: @ibtisam thanks for your help, I called them but the lady told me I need to come and pick the maternity package plan after that it will take 2or 3weeks to make an appointment. I want to know are using mihs , what are the steps you take to make appointments. Thanks
When you get there and u are thru with financials you can then go and ask for ur appointment to be fixed for earlier than 2wks and hopefully if you are graced u might get an appointment in 4 or 5 days. I'll be there on the third of November. When are u planning to come. And have u got ur appointment with financials yet

toitoi: @aykanbi I haven't decide on the hospital to use , I could not get information about Mihs. Please if you don't mind can you send the details about Mihs

That was the plan but the way things are set up now, will probably leave late October . Whichever way, if you are planning to use mihs, we can still hook up.
I called the women clinic, got put thru to alba and she asked some basic . Age DOB, and d date I plan to come in and then she booked me for financials and told me it would take up to 2 weeks to get a docs appointment but I have to be physically present to do that. Here's the no you can call her.

oawele: With all the stress of travelling and complications that could come up, I think you should plan to leave earlier. Betterstill, consult with your doctor and work out when best you should travel. Also check with the airline you plan to travel with confirm if they would allow you travel at 36 weeks.

Good luck.
I am using airfrance and they allow at 36 weeks with fit to fly. But I think it's safer to reschedule . Will do that and push back to like 34 weeks or 33. Thanks
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by aykanbi: 8:09pm On Aug 26, 2014
nefertitiram: Oh no! That's not nice to hear! I really don't know how long it takes to get a doctor's appointment, but I am sure other phoenix mamas will have something so say. Personally, I am leaving at 27 weeks, my doctor insists I fly early. I am sure you can work something out when you get there.
I am already thinking of rescheduling my flight. Will cost me extra 120 dollars. But I think it's safer.. Thanks
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by aykanbi: 11:53pm On Aug 25, 2014
Nochid: Well, I'll say 36weeks is a bit far gone, but if you've booked your flight, just keep telling the baby to hang in there till you get to the US.
If you've made up your mind to use MIHS, you can as well book for accommodation, popular around here is Crossland Economy Studios, then Extended Stay on East Oak, then I know a few people stay in Zazzu pannee.
Thanks. God bless
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by aykanbi: 10:13pm On Aug 25, 2014
Nochid: Prior to now, MIHS sends you the doctor's and financial appointment at the same time. In recent times however, due to the traffic of people using the place, they just send you the financial appointment. This is in a bid to gauge your commitment to using them, so as it stands you only get your doctor's appointment after you have met the financial and paid. Most times its an interval of days or at most a week. You're 36weeks gone, the earlier you come the better.
@nochid Thanks a lot. So if I fly at 36wks and I am able to get a doctor at 37 weeks then I'm still in the safe zone. Do you advise that I go ahead a d get a place to stay since I've made d decision to birth there. I'm flying early November tho, for anyone who's in the same ship? May I get suggestions on affordable extended stays with close proximity to the hospital. Thanks
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by aykanbi: 7:44pm On Aug 25, 2014
nefertitiram: It's all inclusive.
Budget $2k for accommodation.
@nefertitiram. Pls I called Mihs today. After being on the line for like 10 minutes, a lady picked and told me a mail will be sent to me confirming my appointment with financials. She also said I can. Only get the doctors appointment when I come in person and it might take up to 2 weeks to get me a doctor. Issue is I am planning on traveling at 36 wks with a couple of days stopover at Minnesota . I have already booked a ticket to this effect. Do you think I can get an appointment with a doc without necessarily showing up first or having to wait 2 weeks. I am really desperate for all the info I can get. P.s selling point is the fees. Way cheaper that the one I have with a hospital in Houston. Thanks.
