Of which...Japanese rides...especially in Lagos mainland, you will change your linkage at least 4 times in a year. Shaft too maybe once a year or twice.

Servicing is dependent on your choice of oil - mineral or synthetic. So its roughly the same cost as a Benz (you just use maybe 2L less).

Fuel filters, AC's compressors and evaporators and O2 sensor does not get bad yearly.

So I feel you should spend roughly the same on either the Benz or Japanese ride.

Depends on the part of the country you stay budget 20k annually for changing four arms.
20k for fuel filter thats twice annually
Servicing is 50k at 25k twice a year(synthetic oil,oil filter and labour) plus miscellaneous
Ehen since you always allow your fuel guage to show llight before you refuel budget 25k for toks fuel pump.
Then your evaporator or compressor fit kaput 50k

The M112 6 cylinder engine id the strongest cheapest easiest maintained
The engine cost about 110k, or less, gear box aka transmission amounts 30-45k and the parts are avaliable anywhere you searched for it...

If you drove the Avensis which is not as big as the Camry, then you can tilt towards the C class or E class.

C240.....give it a try. C320...if you love to speed

M112 Engine

Engine - Around #150k

Gear box (Auto) - #70k

The prices are surely slightly negotiable.

You are right, that car is awesome....the compressor of ML320 (2005) that I am driving is 30k , the shocks is 25k for the 4 , the filter is 1,500, the ignition coil is 3k, the gear is 60k

And these things rarely get spoiled. Benz is a good brand.


But the ML headlamp the new model is about 45k to 50k last price! The ordinary headlamp is about 15k!

The only thing that is expensive in Benz to my own knowledge is the body parts

Like the back bumper of my car ...with sensor is about 130k without sensor is about 60k ...the same thing with the front bumpers.


The side mirrow casing with led indicator is 10k with the whole mirror setting is 30k ....the full windscreen is 20k

I own an 09 for 3+years now.
Repairs since then include a rear differential(axle) for 20k.
The side mirrors trafficators,10k for both.
Bushing on the arm 5k(minus labour)
Shaft hose 10k for both sides.
Stabilizer linkage, 20k for both.
Rear brake discs 6k for both
Front shock absorbers 110k ,Sachs OEM(Same brand for a Toyota muscle costs about 80k)
Others are just routine wear and tear stuff like brake pads 12k for front, 10k or so for rear.
Engine air filters 6k or so.
Cabin air filters 6k or so.
Engine oil 13-17k X 2gallons depending on the brand.I change oil b/w every 8-10 months.
Star oil for the transmission 3.5k X 7 cans(once every 40k miles or so.

Car drives like dream,though no longer my daily driver.
Fuel consumption is superb for a V6 esp on the highway,full tank of 60 liters takes me 500km to my place in d east with A/C thruout.

N/B.If you want to buy,make sure you buy a non-abused one.
