I think it actually depends on the school and how age appropriate your child is. If the school is following the normal curriculum, even subjects like science, Yoruba are broken down to a level to which an age appropriate child would understand.

In grade 1, topics that they should learn in science subject are around living and non-living things, animals and their habitats, sounds that animals make, soils and types of soils and other basic things which are just basic. And in Yoruba they should learn basic things like parts of the body, greetings, numbers, and basic verbs and common words like sit, come, clothes, shoes.

I am not disputing the fact that some schools can overdo and they lack several appropriate delivery methods because these are kids with different learning abilities.

But overall, make sure your child is already 5 before grade 1 or at the very least will be 5 early in the session, but school pass school sha, a teacher must aim at nothing less than 75% of high and middle flyers in class.

I suffered from severe sciatica pains right from 6weeks (Imagine waddling when pregnancy never even start),I can’t do anything without being in pain because all my nerves were weak and sore. I practically hear my joints creak at every single movement. It was painful.
I told God to please, compensate me with the easiest and fastest labor ever because in all honesty, I deserve the compensation.
I have been having constant contractions Abi na Braxton kicks for many weeks prior to today. So when at some minutes past 3am, this contraction started, I knew this is not the usual game. It got intense that I started vomiting and this was my cue because same thing happened with my first and I gave birth few hours later.
We got to the hospital at 5:30 am, was checked and 7cm dilated. That alone gave me joy. At 6:54, I pushed my angel out, weighing 3.7kg without tears (another big compensation) I had an episiotomy with my first and she weighed 4kg. Glory be to God!

This same day, 2019, I gave birth to my first daughter. It’s surreal that my girls get to share the same birth date.?It wasn’t planned. The pregnancy happened when it wanted to, and my babies chose when they want to come.
So, while I’m celebrating a child for turning 3, I welcomed another. Praise the Lord!

I pray and declare that to the expectant moms, you’d deliver your bundles of joy with great testimonies in Jesus name. You all shall celebrate in Jesus name.

That baby is not yours! If you had sex on June 12 and it resulted in pregnancy then it means her last menstruation should be late may or early June which you will start counting 40 weeks from, you won’t even start counting from the day you had sex but the first day of her last menstruation, if that is the case then by now she should have put to bed!

Like someone said above, if she doesn’t give birth before month end then the baby is most likely not yours, unless they have an history of carrying pregnancy for over 10-11 months in her family.

All of these BAs and BSs are making me emotional.

Mamas my tummy is not big ooo.... I was thinking it’ll get big towards the end but it did not, I am 37weeks today and when it was measured 3days ago with tape-rule it’s was measuring 31 and my baby is not small the last time I checked on scan. Please does it mean I’ll get my pre-pregnancy tummy back easily? I’m just curious

This kind of advise and thinking is not for everyone.

Both of us were As. We knew. But we married anyway with the resolve to eliminate SS possibility with Medical options.

Each time she takes in we visit that sicle cell centre in Lagos near LUTH abi LASU sef... for prenatal testing. The last time we did it was between 250 and 300k. The test takes less than 30mins with minor discomfort to the woman. Usually done within the first 2-3 months.

We have 3 boys that are AA today.

None of our relatives know we are both even As or even the steps we take. We were both properly educated, weighed the options and here we are.

Bottom line both parties thinking it through and making a decision. In our case we didn't consider 300k for prenatal testing to be a major expense. Also we were also open minded about medical abortion (should it come to that), but thankfully we have not had any need for any evacuation.

Like I said, this is not for everyone. We are one in a million. I shared just in case there's that person out there that may be considering swimming against the tide and popular opinion. You are not alone. Everything is possible.

We are also educated and we knew what we were getting into from the get go, also open minded should in case a fetus turns out to be SS, our families are aware and gave their moral support, one sure thing is we can’t birth a SS baby.

I am also in the same shoes and as at last year it was already 400k but in a private hospital, I know by the time we’ll be ready for the next it will be around 500k.

Bro, it is 25% chance of having a SS baby out of every pregnancy, unless you and your wife are really really unfortunate, you can’t be “killing” a succession of babies as the probability of all your children being AS is higher which is fair enough.
Whereas miscarriages happen even without anything or genotype issue. (I guess that means the babies are “killing” themselves or the mother’s body is “killing” them)

I think it is also better to terminate the pregnancy than bring the child to the world where it’ll cause emotional, health and financial problems for the parents and child involved.

CVS is less expensive and easier I think, and after having like 2-3 children you can rest!

Bed that can be strolled within the house (I actually got it at give away price from a woman that her husband double beds). 10k

Pampers (bought small and will buy more according to baby’s need when he comes) 2,500

Diaper bag (someone advised to buy okrika and it is actually good) 3k

Delivery pack (all these gloves, injection and all mandated by my hospital) 7,500

And other petty things that I can’t remember for now.

Reminds me DH has been laughing at the way I snore loudly these days, I have begged him to record it so that I can hear but the man doesn't want to embarrass me and has refused to do so, any mama snoring since their pregnancy

Early this month I woke up to a voice note on WhatsApp from hubby, I played it and it was a recording of me snoring
I asked if that was me and he said yes, I couldn’t believe my ears
Hopefully it’ll go after delivery sha because we can’t be doing snoring competition.
