@vescussi. Ye I agree he's probably not the first Nigerian that has written in the sci-fi genre. But his book is the first Nigerian book I have seen that deliberately andprofoundly examines issues of scientific significance. Every theory and principle in the book is sound and correct. It is also interesting as it deals with politics and romance also. I know Nnedi Okorafor(Author of Zarah the windseeker, who also publishes in America) is considered a sci-fi writer. It is wrong. Wht she writes is actually fantasy, paranormal stuff. Also contrary to your assumption the book is available in nigeria. You can google the author's name to find out how to get a copy. |
Guys you have really been missing. This book just came out by a Nigerian, it's titled 'Times of the Supermen' by Tope Apoola. The first real Nigerian science fiction. Men, it's explosive. It's 450 pages is captivating from the beginning to the end. The book portrays a futuristic world in which strange signs appear on mars and astronauts were sent to investigate. If you love intellectual stuff, this is just what you need. I am saying this because the guys is not yet a popular writer and the book is great. it was published in the U.S. For a short reveiw, check www.ideologyera..com |
