Music/RadioLooking For An Old Record by ayostacey(op): 5:57pm On Aug 20, 2017
As a young man I was given a cassette tape by my dad, it was an Audio History of Chife Obafemi Awolowo, if I can remember the name was Itun Obafemi Awolowo I know there was a middle name but I forget it as well, I asked my parent to dig into all my belongings now packaged in about 3box in the far end of my family house storage but sad enough they could not find it. If anyone know the exsact record I am talking about or can point me in a direction to find it for sale I would be the most greatful human, I am working on a project and need this record to fact check and add content to my project.

I would have done this research myself by going to all old record stores and collection points I had in Nigeria but I am unable to do that because I am outside the country currently.

Thanks to everyone for taking time to read and assist with this.

Yea i was approved really fast which was just within 5 working days.I submited just six documents and they are as follows

1: International Passport
2: Hotel Reservation
3: Evidence Of Flight Ticket
4: Bank Statement ( 300k inside my account )
5: Yellow Card
6: Letter of Identification/Incorp of my working place( This letter shows that am going for vacation for less than a month..Duely signed by my MD.

It was a visitors visa. When i applied i stated that i was going to spend just 9days.Yes,this is my first time of applying for a visa.I wasn't asked to pay any 110k.I was only sent that text message for me to come pick up my passport..If you have any further question please ask

chelseabmw: I applied last week on the 4th of december
Chelsea, yours was approved very fast. Can you share the specifics..was it a visitor visa? what did you supply them when you gave your documents, did you have above 300k in ur bank account as suggested? How long did you say you'd be in SA for? Are you a first time applicant? You said you submitted on the 4th, at what point were u asked to pay the 110K? thanks for your help!!

teetee123: I think the questions you are asking has been dealt with earlier on, can't remember the pages, go over the thread.
Most of your earlier questions are better answered at the high commission itself.
Go to the consular officer in Accra or just call the office. Their rules change every time. There are even lots of differences in their dealings between Lagos and Abuja not to talk of Accra. The advice been given here are just suggestions from past experiences. The situation may not be the same again. All the best
Thanks for the suggestion, but I've gone over the thread at least 5 times. All 16 pages. Trying to weed thru the student visas/medical visas/etc. I'm using info I read (like needing the 300K in an account) as references, but still need some clarification from the extremely helpful ppl (mainly, collinsfbi) on here. If you read a response to my last question, you'll see that I am in Ghana but can't apply from here, so the question was not geared towards the consular office in Accra. Lastly, have you ever tried calling any of these offices you mentioned? It's hard to get an answer, or email or anything from them.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by ayostacey: 4:50pm On Dec 11, 2012
collinsfbi: You don't lodge a huge amount into an account to process visa, you can still be denied by doing that and even if you will have to do that, you must attach a self explanatory letter to your SOC stating the source of the money if possible supported by any relevant docs and as for repatriation fee, the Embassy will call you and give you deadline for payment.

Gbamm over n out
Ok, thanks. That might be a problem for us then. We've been basically living out of my wife's account in the USA. My name could never be added to it due to the fact that I dont have a social security number in the US and the bank wudnt allow me to be added without one. We have the money, but for me to get the Visa, I read that I needed to provide a bank account with 300K and above, so my only option was to now deposit that money before applying for visa. As for the repatriation fee...if I've already left Nigeria to go back to Ghana, can someone go pay that fee for me? Do they only collect that fee if the visa is approved? Sorry for all the questions...its my first time.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by ayostacey: 2:39pm On Dec 11, 2012
Sorry, another question (or 2)...If I deposit the 300K Naira into my bank account shortly before applying for visitor visa, is that going to look somehow? Or will that be acceptable to get the visa? Also, when dropping off the papers (visa app, flight info, bank statement, etc) is this when I also pay the 110K or do u pay that AFTER they approve your visa?

Can you guys tell me if I can apply for a SA visa from Ghana? I am Nigerian citizen, but staying primarily in ghana. I dont have a resident permit here or anything, however. But was still wondering if i can apply from here? what are your thoughts on that? thanks!!
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by ayostacey: 10:35am On Dec 11, 2012
Does anyone know if I can apply for a SA visitor visa from Ghana if I am Nigerian Citizen? I stay in Ghana, though not a resident or have resident permit or anything. I am going back to Nigeria to get my passport since I have lost mine last year. I was thinking I would like to get the passport in Abuja and then come back to Ghana and apply for the SA visa. Is that possible or would I have to do it in Nigeria. I know I could do it the same time I get my passport, but then I'd have to either wait around to get it, (which who knows how long that could take) OR I'd have to travel back to Nigeria again to get the Visa when it was ready (God willing)...Sooo, do you know if it's possible to apply outside your home country? thanks again for any advice

one other thing...if we intend to stay for six months, but they only grant initial visa or stamp for 3 months, would it be risky to have our return ticket showing 6 months departure? in other words, will SA immigration question that?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by ayostacey: 5:23pm On Dec 08, 2012
thanks for that great information. You said that I, the Nigerian citizen can apply for the extension with no problems, will that be the same for my American wife..since you said she will only be stamped for 90 days? Thanks again for your help. If not buying a car in Cape Town, do they have ample taxi's, city busses, etc?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by ayostacey: 7:28pm On Dec 07, 2012
Hello,

I am a Nigerian married to an American for several years. We have been living in Nigeria and Ghana for the past three plus years. Soon she is going to file a petition for me to get a Visa for the US so that she can go back home. We know that process will take about a year and she is quite fed up with Nigeria/Ghana...and so am I to be truthful. We have looked into other places that I could go without needing a visa, but those places are almost impossible to get to (barbados, etc). So we are now leaning towards spending the months waiting for our petition/visa to the states to go thru in a more conducive environment. I have read thru almost all the posts here, but they are mostly geared toward schooling/work permits, etc and we are seeking none of those. Just a stay in SA. She does not need a visa to go there, I do. I've never traveled anywhere else, so can you tell me if it will be hard or lengthy to get the Visa...also, ive read the requirements: having 300,000 in my account would be no problem...paying the fees; no problem...having a paid hotel reservation; no problem, etc. They say the visa they grant is for 3 months. So, if we wanted to stay longer...is it hard to get an extension? Would we be able to extend for another 3 months? Also, we want to secure an apartment once we get there. We would be able to pay the 6 months in advanced. Will landlords accept this from foreigners or do they like to rent to locals who are locally employed? We are thinking that Cape Town would prob be the best area to stay, but we wont have a car. Is it hard to get around without one? thanks for any input!!

Thanks for your help and the link...however, that statement was made from someone in November of 2010 so Im assuming they were referring to December 18th 2010 as well. And as of now, 2012, there are no flights from there.

I've googled that information and there is nothing found on it. Also, I checked West African Airways site and they state that they only fly from Washington to either Accra, Dakar and Liberia...nothing about Benin or Barbados. If you have a link to your information, please post it. thanks

TravelTravel To Barbados From Accra Or Lagos Without The Need Of Transit Visa? by ayostacey(op): 4:07pm On Nov 30, 2012
Hello, while searching online for the answer to this question, the search engine drew me to this site because this topic has come up before. I read through numerous posts on the subject, but never saw any valid answer ...AND most of the info was at least several years old. I hold a Nigerian passport but have been living in Accra, Ghana for the last three years with my wife who is American. We would like to travel to Barbados in March. Is there any route that you are aware of that could get us there without a transit visa? Obviously she has no problems going more direct routes, but since I have only the Nigerian passport, it is more difficult. Any legitimate answers would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!
