Alhamdu Lillah Robili Alamin. We give limitless glory to Allah SWT for seeing us
through 1438 AH. In Sha Allah, today Thursday 21st September 2017, marks the
beginning of a new month (Muharram) and New Islamic year 1439 AH.
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar, and one of the four months in
which fighting has been prohibited in the Qur'an.
Allah SWT in Surah 9. At-Taubah Verse 36 revealed: "Verily, the number of months with
Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He
created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the
11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong
not yourselves therein...... "
Believers in Islamic Monotheism are enjoined to observe fasting in the first 10 days of
Muharram. But if they cannot, fasting should be observed on the 1st, 9th and 10th of
Muharram.
I wish the entire UMMAH in 1439AH more of Allah's Mercies, Blessings, Favours,
Forgiveness of sins and Refuge from hell-fire. Ameen
