There is a free .Tech domain registration for DreamHost users, you can check and grab yours ASAP. I was able to register a nice one. FYI, a .Tech domain sold for $10k+ about 2 months ago so it's worth taking a chance on.

I spent over an hour trying to research and figure out which one to register out of the 2 .Tech I had shortlisted. Tbh, I'm convinced the one I didn't register has a higher chance of selling faster than the one I registered, but why did I register the one I registered? Long term potential! So if anyone is interested in the second .Tech, Feel free to comment. It's 100% FREE! I'll reveal the name after it has been claimed. Cheers!!!

We shouldn't always argue to win.

It's a fact that the vast majority of sold domains take years to happen. That's the 'norm' and 'general standard.'

Quick sales happen, and that's what we all hope and pray for, but that doesn't invalidate the common industry trend.

You are right. Exception doesn't make the rule!!!

There is a free .Pro registration for DreamHost users, you can check and grab yours. I was able to register a nice one. Btw, longevity.pro sold recently for 5 figures, so since it's free, it's worth taking a chance on.

Most of my motivations come from your posts, maybe that explains why most of my names are kinda similar to yours. Started Domaining in 2016 but I wasn't patient/loaded enough back then, my first sale came after I had dropped all my names a year later, the sale was an unexpected .ng so the transaction didn't complete. After years of doing other businesses and gaining lots of experiences (Networking, CS, WebDev and Tech as whole). I casually strolled back into domaining this year (2nd quarter) and I went hard this time, I hit 200 .coms (90% drop reg, 5% closeout, 4% auctions, 1% hand reg) over the weekend (about 240 all tlds) and I told myself I'm done for the year but while reading your report I decided to waste some money on Hey-High.com and 2 others on my watchlist. At 240 names, I've gotten a few offers but no actual sale yet, yes, I price high!!! 4 figures and above but I know the sales will eventually come. Well, no guilt wasting a few thousands dollars on something I'm actually confident in, I've lost more to things that doesn't even matter.

Alright! So I got my first domain sale today, exactly 11months after restarting domaining! (quoted post for backstory) I rolled on the floor when I got the email, why? Just last month, I promised myself to pause and not buy any more names until I make a sale, cuz I've spent a lot on domains without making anything yet. I am at 340+ domains as at this morning, the most expensive one costed me $300 to acquire (just last month).

This sale is so important to me, not because of the price, but because it gives me big hope and shows that I am on the right path, most especially when I was already tiring out. Even if it gets cancelled after 1 payment only, it has already given me the motivation I need to keep going. To ensure I wasn't spending more on domains, I started reviving my Youtube channel and was even editing some new videos when the email from Afternic dropped lol, now I can start working on both equally.

Now, to the name, I bought this name in June 2025, so that's like 9 months hold time, I wasn't expecting this to be my first sale cuz I feel like I have even better names than this one, some with the same keyword+HQ, some are even 4L.com, etc The name was priced $5k+ like many of my names but I was testing a pricing method some months ago and I forgot to update it again. Well, sorry to bore you with stories, here are the main details -

Name: 3L+HQ (.com)
Sale Price: $2345 (LTO)
Sale Venue: Afternic
Purchase Price: $5.34
Hold Time: 9 months
Sale Type: Inbound

Travel › Re: The Dark Side Of Living Abroad Nigerians Don’t Tell You by aywhy93(m): 1:35pm On Jan 26*

For anyone who doesn't know, Nigeria has the shortest life expectancy in the world @ 54years!!! No matter what you do, how much you earn etc., collectively on an average, you're likely to live for just 54years, because everything around you is designed to kill you. In contrast, countries like Australia, Switzerland, Canada, HK, Ireland, Japan etc. have an average life expectancy of 82 - 85 years!

You're likely to live 30 years more, on an average, just by choosing to relocate to such countries... Even countries we talk down on and look down on like Ghana, South Africa etc. have a life expectancy of 65years +, which means you'd live 10 years more (averagely) by relocating to those type of countries. Long story short, Nigeria (presently) is bottom of the barrel, relocating to just about anywhere in the world will add more to your life expectancy and quality of life, even if it's just a year!!! We're that f*cked!!!

Nathansmith:
Most successful domainers "undersold" some assets in the beginning. I assume your acquisition cost for the name that got the 2k offer is under $100.

If that's the case, you should take the offer and reinvest the proceeds into more names. Too early to be firm and rigid with your pricing, in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice, you are right about the cost and scaling up fast. Underselling is definitely a big part of domaining. However, I know the prospect trying to buy that domain, it's an AI company in Asia that got funding recently and they are on a ccTLD while I have the .com, no TMs, etc. Trust me, they will eventually come back BIG!!!

This domain seem like a real gem to me so I tried picking it up immediately it dropped. But I saw the PREMIUM tag on it, priced at $5k shocked

... So I rushed to Dynadot to InstaReg it, but it was also bounced as unsuccessful, PREMIUM.

To my surprise, I tried to bundle it through normal reg with those complimentary tlds, the registration pulled through and I'm now able to manage it in my account. Sometimes, weird things happen in Domaining, if Dynadot was a shady registrar, they for chop the name lowkey. grin
