trafficpools2:Sure! Other countries buy domains as well, even Nigerians. However, look at that screenshot; almost all the countries there are Tier 1 countries, i.e. countries with high purchasing power/very stable economy. There's no doubt the US is still the number 1 when it comes to domain sales and transactions. One reason is the high purchasing power; another is that they are not CCTLD-oriented (.us), unlike Canada (.ca), UK (.uk/.co.uk), etc Back to the original post, don't hold your breath for that domain; if it sells, awesome. If it doesn't, keep finding others that will sell. The traffic is from tier 3 countries, which reduces the chances of it being sold for a sweet price. I personally avoid domains whose potential buyer(s) is/are from tier 3 countries. We never chop for Naija; they never chop for their country too. To wrap it up, price it according to the target tier, and hopefully, it sells. All the best! |
edoman2016:I was able to register a few names that day, strangely @ $2.5 each, which indeed confirms that the promo isn't for just 1 name. However, I haven't tried since then, but someone else is suggesting that the promo has ended. Will update when I confirm. Update: The promo is still working! |
edoman2016:Congratulations! This is a hot lot! Does UD backorder really work? I noticed I could insta-reg the names they usually catch on Dynadot if I follow closely when it's dropping. |
Greenscientist:Wow, I thought it was just a single name at that price, so I didn't bother using them. I've been on 899COM Dynadot all along. I would've gotten (more than) twice as many names from Wix. Never too late sha, thanks for sharing! |
Greenscientist:Nope Bro. 2 different leads for that name, both stalled. ![]() A recent sale is pending due to the ICANN 60-day lock, until December. |
Thanks! |
Firefox01:Nice! Yeah, no issues. BestBuyAi is trademarked because of BestBuy (the tech/gadget reselling company), but you shouldn't have any issues with BestVoiceAi since there is no major giant sitting on that branding/TM. |
U1:Thanks a lot, bro. Nice list. I raced to pick that Academica; it's a very hot name (developed on almost all the major TLDs |
AllLovingGod: Brandconsultany:Thanks a lot, Bosses. Really appreciate.! I hope you are inspired. ![]() |
aywhy93:I'm quoting my recent comment, where I mentioned a domain that's getting attention lately due to the SI hype. Yeah, that's the name that just sold. I kinda have mixed feelings about this sale. Why? There are lots of things going on with the name. So here is the whole gist!I remember I have posted on this thread several times whenever DreamHost have FREE domains up for grab (.pro/.tech/.cloud, etc.), and I have encouraged people several times to give it a shot since it's free. Well, I always practice what I preach; that's why this sale happened. This month last year, DreamHost was doing their .io FREE domain grab, so I activated my research and hunt mode. After a few hours, I found a few hidden gems. Since I could only get one for free, I settled for this name, and I hand-registered it for $0 Thanks to DreamHost, I love those guys; I still have some FREE gems I got from them.Fast forward to last month, I had lots of domain renewals for September and October, so I started reviewing the ones I'd renew and drop (I usually renew most of my names, cuz they seem to have potential). Unfortunately, this domain was among the ones I felt I wasn't going to renew, but at some point, my domaining instinct kicked in. I usually mark/color-code the names that I'd renew with green and the ones I'm dropping with red, but I didn't mark this domain cuz I wanted to think more about it. During this period, I dropped the price to $1499 since it was expiring in about a month anyways. Well, about 2 weeks later, Donald Trump came out with his Super Intelligence cho cho cho, so people started talking about SI, and this domain started getting LOTS of views. At that point, it was no longer negotiable; I knew I was going to renew it for sure!!! I started the renewal process earlier this week, but for some reason, it's taking a long time, so I thought maybe it's because it's a .io domain. I even reached out to DreamHost about it yesterday afternoon. I was waiting for the transfer to complete before INCREASING the price back to where it should be; that was the mistake I made. I shouldn't have waited... While waiting, someone pulled the trigger on the name and got it for $1499. Although I got it for FREE, I know it's worth way more than that, especially with the present Super Intelligence hype. Well, there you have it: from FREE >>> $1499 in 12 months. My major focus is still and always /.Com/ (98% of my portfolio), but I try to grab other TLDs when I can, especially when it's FREE... Nothing beats FREE ![]() Sales details below - Name: Super:-:Intelligence (.io) Sale Price: $1499 Sale Venue: Afternic Purchase Price: FREE on DreamHost Hold Time: < 12 months Sale Type: Inbound Onto the next one! ![]()

edoman2016:Well said! Exactly my thoughts! And to even think .si is way cheaper than .ai, so it's easier for those wealthy domainers to go haywire on their accumulation of .si. On the good side, those who think they have a chance with .si can at least invest $100 and have a couple of .si (if they can get meaningful names), that's not even up to the standard acquisition cost of .ai for 1 year. All in all, .com is still the KING. Congrats on your sale!!! On another note, I got a sale just now. I don't even know if I should be happy or not, cuz I feel like I left a lot of money on the table, though I still sold it for XXXX; conversely, I got the domain for free ($0). I'll talk about it when I'm back; I wanna go meditate and get some fresh air! |
etin06:Congratulations! Those are fast sales! |
written007:Congratulations! What a relief to offload such a trademarky name at that good price. The hold time is short as well. |
Favourdman:Lol, na so ooh... Tbh, I no dey put mind ooh. I don receive better whining several times, but even if it doesn't lead to a sale, I no dey allow that one affect me; I just look at the positive side (at least, the domain is not bad, for it to interest/attract someone) and move on. |
Greenscientist:I hope so too. Thanks a lot! |
Greenscientist:Yes |
flotwz:Just like someone else mentioned, I have also explored this ccTLD in the past, but it doesn't look promising to me. IMHO, this is just hype that will soon go down. Just the same way that orange guy renamed Lake Ontario > Lake America, Gulf of Mexico > Gulf of America, etc on paper but nobody ever calls them that, that's the same way people will still call it Artificial Intelligence (AI) no matter how super it seems. I see some smart people already using this opportunity to offload their .si domains for $100; most of the buyers will be stuck with those domains and eventually drop them. On the contrary, KW + Intelligence (.com) domains look really promising... Makes sense, and I'm seeing lots of sales. Funny enough, I have a Super-Intelligence domain that is expiring soon. I had no intention to renew it, but the views I'm getting on it lately due to the recent SI hype are so high. Because of that, I changed my mind; I'm renewing this one That's it for me sha |
I hope these people are not whining me sha... Too much bark; make them bite abeg! ![]() I don't know if I should cross my fingers or not ... Name is just 2 weeks old BTW ![]()

Greenscientist:Yeah, I agree. Maybe I wasn't clear enough earlier; my emphasis was on eventually selling the name, not banking on selling it to that particular end user (I just mentioned that end user since they are launching next month, and I used "likely" because it's not guaranteed). Even names that have 5 potential end users don't automatically guarantee being sold to any of those end users. Also, it takes some buyers 1 month, 1 year, or even 10years to go for their preferred domain; no one knows for sure. $100 for a name you said you wouldn't have registered for $9.5 yourself? Lol, It's okay. I'll take that as a NO to my offer; we move! ![]() |
Greenscientist:Generally, from what I've seen, most domainers will tell you their top names aren't usually the ones that sell first; I can relate to that as well, so the fact that you outbounded your better names and didn't sell doesn't mean other names that don't look as good as those better names won't sell. So, this is how it works for me: while combing through the drop list (thousands of domains), you can't be clicking on every name on the list (something has to draw you closer to check the name at first), so you skim through the names. When you see one that meets your criteria (whatever it is), you click on it and dig deeper. For me, firstly, it's almost a wordplay on an English word used in tech, meaning "to make something more efficient". Secondly, I've seen similar domains sold several times. Lastly, something is being built around this name; it's not a blog, it's not a personal journal, it's a potential AI agent startup. Now, this is the main reason why I said if you think otherwise, I agree too! -> I know we all have different strategies and reasons for picking names. For me, I'm interested in increasing my portfolio to a huge number without compromising on quality (a thousand at the very least), and I never do outbound, so that name isn't the best name I've ever come across, but it passes the minimum criteria well enough to get into my portfolio since I have a huge target to meet. For you, maybe it doesn't, because you need direct, outboundable and email-ready multiple end-users. Since the name seems to have only one end user that you can't reach out to, it's not a very good name to you. I remember during GP's last report, he mentioned a name axsis/com that he sold for over 5k, and he specifically stated that "most people on this thread wouldn't have looked at this name twice, let alone buy it and list it for 5k". I did a quick check on that name back then; it didn't have multiple potential end users. Now that it's sold, the name suddenly looks appealing to everyone, but trust me, it wouldn't have been appealing to most people before it sold. Long story short, domains are unpredictable, like you initially mentioned, so it may not sell, and it may also sell, but if it were in my hands, I'd hold on to it, and I believe it has a good chance of selling. BTW, since you wouldn't have bought it if not for Wix's lower price, I am interested in taking it off of you for more than GName's price; that's a 60% profit. Watch him say NO to my offer! Why? Because he also kinda believes in the name. ![]() |
Greenscientist:I have removed the name out of my comment, you should do the same on my quoted comment. Well, I don't think it's just a random person testing (if we're talking about the same domain), this is exactly how new companies and new ideas spring up. Their present TLD was secured less than a month ago, which means it's a company/idea in progress. I can assure you they'd have gotten the .com instead if it was available then. Also, they have a waitlist (typical of new, fresh companies), there is a countdown to their potential launch date, etc. There are just too many signs that you'd eventually sell the domain if you hold on to it. But if you think otherwise, I agree too!
|
Greenscientist:Yeah, their full name is on the WHOIS contact details of the domain. |
If You're *** and you're on this thread. There is a domain you beat me to today; I just looseguard anyhow. Just know God is watching you ![]() |
U1:Thanks a lot! I don't think they are hoarding the views though; it just takes some time for the views to update and sync across their platform, especially if/when you do a recent DNS change. Lol, yeah, renewals are very important; many buyers are hoping you won't renew so they can get the names for reg fee. The moment you renew, they go into "should we just buy it like that or wait again till next year" mode. ![]() |
Sounds good. I'll love to visit Benin Republic and other neighboring African countries someday. It's the stress and unpredictable nature of the border crossing that puts me off. |
Greenscientist:Thanks a lot! I totally agree with that price part but not the first part. I'm still a junior domainer, while GPexchange is a senior domainer. BTW, we haven't seen his sales report this year; hope to hear from him soon. No doubt his reports motivate me a lot. |
AllLovingGod:It's hovering around 400 domains at the moment. |
UrVillagePpl:Haha, thanks man! Yes, it was picked from ED |
EmmyRush:Thanks a lot bro! I don't really consider views. I mostly reduce the price when I want some actions. I usually keep myself engaged (domain-wise) by buying names and building my portfolio, but when I'm not buying domains (e.g. spent whatever budget I have), I get bored, so I just reduce prices on some of the names. That way, I can get busy buying names again if anyone sells. On this particular name, tbh, I wasn't keeping an eye on it until the offer came in. It's not in my top 50 most viewed domains, but during the offer/negotiations stage, the views increased a lot. |
Oshiofe:Thanks a lot! Got it for $5 from ExpiredDomains. Yes, Dropped. |
Another Bangerrrrrr!!! PS: I typed this sale report a few days before the actual sale happened because I was so confident it was gonna happen ![]() In my last sale report, I mentioned that I get sales whenever I reduce the prices on my domains. Well, that's still the case here. This domain is also one of those domains that I slashed the price on. It was initially listed for a high XXXX, but I reduced it to $4999. About one week ago, the buyer reached out via an Afternic Broker with a $3750 offer. Well, before responding, I started digging deep to find out who the buyer is, so I was able to narrow my guess down to 2 possible buyers (I'm very convinced I know the exact buyer sha )... One of them is a new company, and I noticed they are presently spending some money; they recently acquired a new office in downtown Vancouver (One of the most expensive cities in North America - Not cheap!). They are also hiring new employees (Some of their job listings are over $100k/yr), so I figured they are not small inside this world . The other potential buyer also looks capable; both of them are on the other registered TLDs.After gathering enough information, I countered their offer with $ 4,750, but set the floor at $ 4,500. They didn't even stress me too much; they just accepted the $4500 straight up. Funny enough, if the domain was still priced at high XXXX, I have a feeling they would still buy it, but the price reduction just made the purchase happen sooner. Well, there you have it, my biggest sale so far in this game. My first sale only happened in March, and it's the 4th one already, all for XXXX.... I'm thrilled and grateful! At the moment, the goal is to have a minimum of one sale every month, and I'm actively working towards that. On to the next one!!! Favourdman:Congratulations!!! I like that first name a lot; it's a name that lots of airline agencies/services don't mind spending on. I have similar names, planning to hold them until they sell. |

Do your due diligence!
