kode12: Ofcourse that's the most logical path IF she's into security, but she sounded like a newbie so I gave the other choice. With RnS and Wireless you still get alot of security skills to get by quite well unless you're going much deeper
If the person is really interest in becoming a cyber security expert, there's no need for wireless as training on ceh ,msce etc can easily make up for that. + ccnp too
temmyt20: its actually for pple who use an Internet enabled phone, or used to use an Internet enabled phone, or used to use their airtel line.to browse b4 then stopped, use *123*189# to check
Waoooh!I just checked mine....it's expiring by 11 the October
nogames: @iswords7 and @ tastyTuoyo thanks for your comments, promise to be here whenever i'm less bussy @ SAMGURU do you have idea of what that amendment bill is all about? If yes pls share it on this forum , but i can assure u NOUN is here to stay. You guys need to watch out and cry out if the bill is not favourable to student b4 its pass into law . Coming frm Northern elite hnm i dont want to be prejuidiced about my judgement but NOUN student shld watch out. Is either they want NOUN to be self financing, there by make it out of reach for the poor, or want JAMB to be regulating NOUN admission. This is public forum let me stop here
Congrats that you can use your certificate to work in the telecom industry and in sha Allah, I ll do same soon.
Here,I can count myself as the luckiest noun student because I did 3 semesters in a year.A exams I did here was due to the inability to sign and stamp my exams slip back in the state before relocation as the exams was my first paper.
I'll stop here because this is a public forum but I can vouch that noun is improving everyday.
To even be a successful students, you've to be studios and smart * * * first class is not easily made**** in noun due to the standard there.

Fulaman198: You are right, I was not at all happy with myself in the first post. It was a disaster. I just don't know where to begin for people who have never touched the command line before. I'm thinking though.
What I would like people to familiarize themselves with I guess are the following commands before we go any further.
ls - List directories
rm - Remove a file or directory
mv - rename or move a file or directory
cp - copy a file or directory
mkdir - create a directory
touch - create a file
rmdir - removes an empty directory (I prefer using rm command as the directory doesn't have to be empty)
cat - read the contents of a file or concatenate a file (used on text mainly)
man - Online manual for linux commands
At the command line these all have what they call different options as well.
An example of an option is typically something associated with a hyphen.
e.g. ls -la
Means list the directories. The 'a' option means list all directories whether they are hidden or not, and the 'l' option lists more details about the files or directories that are listed.
I don't want to go more overboard because there are those who have never touched the command line before. Before we can get into actual Bash scripting, people need to know the basics first.
Fulaman198: Ubuntu is very friendly on resources. It's very nice and if you are an avid Windows user, getting used to Ubuntu will be extremely easy. You don't have to worry about the command line terminal (though you could use it). I feel more at home at the command line. I love the command line ROFLLL.
Fulaman198: CCNA 200-120 is more robust. Some topics discussed on the former CCNP are now discussed on the CCNA.
If you are not familiar with networking much, take the ICND1 100-101 which will give you CCENT certification and then the ICND2 200-101 which will give you the CCNA R&S to reward you for passing the ICND1 and ICND2
Okay thanks.... ... *****mind you, I'm a computer engineer like you *********
Funjosh: Yes it is. But you know it doesn't look much attractive like Windows. Was made to know that it is also free from virus.
Yea,it is not easily attacked by virus due to its programmed nature. It's preferable in a security circle because of this feature and many more.
It doesn't gain wide popularity like winfows o.s because you've to know the commands you're going to use to interact with it whereas windows has made everything easier for users by means of icons and other shortcuts.
Fulaman198: One good thing about Network Engineering and any type of Engineering/Science field is that you never stop learning. It's a continued process as technology is forever changing. There are unlimited things to learn in this very fun and enjoyable field. Yes, it pays well, but you shouldn't be only going into this field for the Salary/pay. That's just an added bonus. You should only do it because you love the material and the field.
Learn, breathe, eat and sleep Network Engineering.
Oga fulaman,I'm preparing mine with Codd lammle's sybex materials. I downloaded it yesterday and was surprised that it is more than 100MB despite the fact that it was compressed.
I hope I'm on the right track by using this materials besides, what's the difference between ccna RNs 640-802 and ccna rns 200-120.
Which one is more robust.I learnt that Cisco has retired the former.
I'm a buhari fan too but we have to know one thing...
We the masses love him to effect the much needed changes we so desired.... the elites hate him because he's a 'bad market' as his action/body language will definitely affect their business...
You did the right thing to defend him but in some situation, a right person may be judge wrongly..
I don't think you need to beg him... he may reason with you very soon
ramdot: @BABA 11, I really appreciate ur quick response. How do I go about d relocation process? will I go to d SC in Abuja to explain to dem n I will be considered d relocation or I will still ave to go to Lagos SC. Also concerning d missing result online, is there need for me to retake d course because without the course I ave already met with the minimum credit unit which is 30 and if am to calculate all d courses wic I passed wit my project it is 31 now. Although the missing course result is core course of 2 unit. so pls tell me wat to do Thanks
***go to your SC here in Lagos state.
********if it's compulsory course, you might need to take it and vice versa for elective
ramdot: Pls I need an advice and intervention. I started my PGD in Digital communication last year at Apapa SC in Lagos before I relocated to Abuja, I did the first and second semester exam including all the necessary courses, but one of the courses result was missing cos I couldn't see d grade online OPERATION RESEARCH, does that mean I ave to resit for it or wat cos I dnt understand at all and moreover am no longer staying in lagos. Secondly, can I do transfer from Apapa SC to Abuja because I am still on my project, and how do I go about it? because I ave not bin able to be see my supervisor since den due to distance barrier thou I met him once. Thirdly, wen will my studentship lapse in NOUN, I started d PGD programme last year. Kindly be of help, I await ur response Thanks to u all
Concerning the missing result,I'll advise you that you to retake it if you're really want to graduate on time in NOUN though, your complaint might be treated, it may take a whole lot of time to rectify which is why retaking is highly necessary!!!
Yea,it's possible for you to relocate because I too did the same thing....since you've been assigned project topic, just go to the study center to inform them whereby upon your relocation being granted, you'll either begin afresh or continue with the already granted topic but probably, the latter may be the case...
I don't know of the third one but if I'm to use my own volition, I'll say 5 Yrs.I started mine September 2012 during NYSC,finish my exams last year October, about finishing my thesis (about 5% remaining) and I could still be able to access my portal despite all these years .I even think it would have been blocked and I was surprised when I saw my result there.
I hope you get everything I highlighted above,if yes,CHEERS,if no,tell me the grey areas....I'm at your service
