Waking up that morning was just like every other day Ooh! Ooh! Were the responses of my other siblings Time for morning devotion As she led the way
After some extra rest Decided to take my bathe Wao! Today really is mother’s day Sorry, women’s day But whose day is this really? As I begin to ponder over Who really owns the day? Is it for all women or only for mothers?
Even as we headed for the day’s service Parents were seen with their children Leading them were the mothers But which woman would never wanted to be a mother Grieve in my heart As I pondered on this issue Oh God! Make them all mothers
The faith of the barren widows sounded Oh! Can she for once be a mother? Oh! Others who after many years of marriage Can they be mothers too?
All mothers, oh! All women Seen very happy and excited As their God’s children present them gifts Will she accept one of these as her? No! Yes! No! Yes! No! No! Yes! Yes!
Even as she returns home None of the God sons or daughters Alone she went to a lonely home Alone she went to the hands of him “God’s time is the best” As he consoles her
But what society can do without them? I don’t think there’s any
Children, pupils, students and even husbands Depends on these women for most things Could it be for all things? Only time and times can tell She even borrowed when the going gets tough Always there for the children upkeep Even in the midst of none Always sought for a way out
School fees, good clothes, good foods, better houses Were her plight When one is sick, hungry, accused or even arrested She is always there
Wonder what life would have been without them Oh God! Bless our mothers Oh! Our women Oh God! Bless all women Oh God! Bless us all.

Jchi9876: Aka gum idiot I can also stay at home buy the pirated CD/DVD of his uncensored show just 90 naira for Mile 2 and watch it at home rather than go to that crowded place where they will charge you 5000 naira for the cheapest ticket and bore you with dry recycled jokes I be ijebu Afonja man i don't spend my money anyhow
In a gathering a prayer was called between Christians and Muslims. I chanted alla ahu akbar severally with Muslims during their turn to pray. A Christan brother was giving me a look of disapproval all through the chant. I am wondering if it's wrong to chant with them.
From your write up it sounded like your friend (but we know say na you sha ) na new wig. But it's too bad. This is rampant in legal profession. I remember as a new wig I once bought electric bulb and socket for my principal, when the secretary obviously said know to his face, that she was tired (never seen that kain thing before) though I sensed something was going down between them as some principals are like that. Still a bit bearable cos I was almost a lad to a man of about 6o years. However, the one that made me resign was that of a female boss oh. Almost same age but attended one of the ivy league schools in the US. I was already a full grown man and married this time. She was a single parent with one male child (husband deserted her I heard). On abroad trips I would escort her to movies and clubs. At the office in Naija, I would escort her to the outside the office building to go and smoke (I do not smoke). All these at her demand and you dare not say no . Trips within Naija also she would summon me to the hotel bar and start asking some funny questions while clutching her beer bottle . My wife would call she would want to know what she 's calling for. At meeting, "do you always shake your legs while sitting down?, I don't think I like that ". We board a taxi, "you are not a gentleman, you actually enter the car before I do" , hmm sorry ma. "pls drop that your ma things, I told you I don't like it". I started opening car doors for her before I will enter and sit down. I was a full man with kids, prostgrsd degrees. I was already dusting my cv at a point. The pay was good, exposure travel round the world, I must confess but I got fed up.... The last straw was when she insulted me before a chartered taxi driver who couldn't hold his laughter. I was damn humiliated. I told her off including threatening to beat her up (brief woman). I came back to the office and prepared my resignation and waited. I refused to seek my wife's consent who was always like, be patient till you get somewhere else. She summoned me and started asking stupid questions and ended up with... Management has decided bla bla.. I brought out the resignation from my file I was holding before she finished her speech. I can't finish telling my ordeals in the hands of that woman.
spongebob0006: I have a friend who is a young lawyer. she works in a private firm and she shared her experience with me. Her boss is a female who actually is nice but on the other side, can send someone on meaningless errands for Africa. it's not even as if the pay is much o, distance alone is crazy so transport fare has taken 90% of the so called salary. when she told me her boss sends her to buy food, I was like Na wa o. as if that was not enough o, she would even tell her to come pull her shoes, wear her slippers, go and shop for her inside market o, if na shoprite, e go better sef, lolz. the list is just endless. any small mistake like this, she would rather shout and pour insults than correct. in fact, my friend is more than frustrated. I told her to leave but with the current situation of Nigeria now, finding a job is not easy. even before she got this one, she searched endlessly. what is your own experience with female bosses?
All those allegations are bills hits. It takes a Dillard to believe those craps.i don't know him from Adam's but the women doing all those are not even smart. This is a clear definition of vendetta.
Nice. That little overlap when phyno cuts in on the second stanza of the first chorus to start his raps and suddenly withdrew to start again after the last stanza was a mistake the director should have cut off. Perhaps they thought it wouldn't be noticed
examhall: Straight outta his latest album, The Playmaker, Phyno enlists the expertise of the music machos, 2Baba and Flavour, to bring you the visuals to “Okpeke” which is the 9th track off the album.
Enjoy as each person brings their own uniqueness to the video to make it one amazing masterpiece. Directed by Clarence Peters.
I knew this would happen cos #BossNation has been trending lately. U see when women decide to trudge behind someone they share sentiments for, they form formidable force
ObiOmaMu: After early online polls showed Efe leading other Big Brother Naija nominated Housemates, Tboss has now put Efe behind as she takes the lead. Debbie-Rise, Tboss, Thin Tall Tony and Efe are all up for eviction this Sunday.
360metrosports: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday March 16, 2017 arraigned the former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Professor Innocent Azubike Umezulike on a four count charge of non- disclosure of asset and false declaration of assets before Justice J. K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Details later.
Lawyers what will be the charge? Just trespass, which is not even a crime but a tort on which damages would be claimed...from who? This does not qualify as Criminal trespass under the Penal Code applicable in Abuja. If she could contact me, we could make the case get head by adding other things like claiming the guy and his girlfrind stole some money and jewelries. without this, he may just walk the street the next day after court.
stane007: The unthinkable happened to Nigerian Twitter user, @Uzezzi_ yesterday. She caught her gateman John in her own bed with his naked girlfriend after the duo had enjoyed rounds of hot sex and passed out on her bed.
The horror didn't end there - Uzezzi says when she stormed her room with policemen to catch the couple, John's woman was tying Uzezzi's towel while the couple had made love using Uzezzi's mum's wrapper as bed spread. Read story below and be amazed. Videos are also below.
Like seriously why is there no such oath on Christian forum here. I fear the day I Wan enter the forum and post topic. I could only enter by denying Christ. I ran away
lonelydora: To all Christians reading this thread.
I don't condone any form of evil but it's high time we stopped condemning our fellow Christians and making caricature of them no matter what. It gives the Muslim brothers room to insult us.
Do you think if any Muslim cleric is caught red handed with a girl/woman in a hotel that the news will see the light of the day?
Do you think the Muslim Nairalanders are foo.lish when they put a creed on any Muslim thread which they refused to put on Christian thread? It is because they do not want non-Muslims to insult their faith but find joy in insulting other people's faith (some of them shaa).
Someone once said here on Nairaland that since we Christians joke with everything about us, they have no option than to join us in joking with it too, but since they don't joke with theirs, we should also not joke with theirs.
Meanwhile, antisemitism is still high in Europe that it's not a thing of pride to publicly describe oneself as Jewish. Was scorned at the day I said my tribe has affinity to the Jews
exlinkleads: Big Brother Nigeria is getting interesting day after day as four of the remaining eight BBN housemates have been nominated for eviction on Sunday. The housemates are Efe, Tboss, TTT and Debie-rise.
Bally, Tboss and TTT got the highest votes for eviction nomination. But Bassey as the Head of House saved Bally and replaced him with Efe. In a twist of events, Marvis used her power card to nominate Debie-Rise. The probability of one of the four nominated housemates to be evicted on Sunday is 100%.
Guys like seriously, Thin Tall Tony has put in so much in he house. He "sacrificed" his family for this game mind you. Yes, one of his strategies was to deny his family in front of the house mates just for the money to drop and of course with 25m damage control will be easy both on his disappointed family and on his fans. Would he have still be on top of his game if he had not told such lies?, the answer is Yes. But understandably he chose the strategy he felt would work better. He has given in so much and we have to vote for him. I think we should, all niggers out there who understand should be vote for this dude. Vote TTT guys
That's his own strategy. And is the family complaining? Have they come out to disown him? Just like Avery serious game, his strategy in the house. I vote for him. Let's vote for him pls
onyichick: my love for ttt died the day I discovered he is married to a beautiful lady and has lovely kids but decided to lie abt it. I don't understand why he has to lie n also go ahead to get a bj n loads of kissing with bisola which in my opinion is disrespectful to both his wife n bisola who wasn't aware at that time that's he is married.he is too desperate n shows he can even kill for money.when he eventually comes out n see how he goofed big time, next time he'll learn to be truthful.its Efe for me, my family n friends.

I am surprised to observe that some of the Big Brother Naija house mates smoke Indian hemp in their camp situate in South Africa. Is Indian hemp smoking legal in the South Africa which the Lex Situs since the act will be judged according to the law of the place where it's carried out.?
People that always flaunt public joy do not have inner peace. Those that struggle to post all kinds of pictures on fb have vacuums they are struggling to fill. Do we have psychologists here

This is what Cassava Republic Press' refreshing and engaging website have to say about the intecontinental brand:
We set up Cassava Republic in 2006, after a few years of contemplation and planning. African writers were being increasingly published and read overseas, with little knowledge or availability of this new wave of talent in Nigeria. The conversation about African writing was taking place elsewhere. Something had to be done.
Seven years later, we are a small but established publishing brand, with a reputation for bringing out high quality fiction and non-fiction for adults and children alike.
Our mission is to change the way we all think about African writing. We think that contemporary African prose should be rooted in African experience in all its diversity, whether set in filthy-yet-sexy megacities such as Lagos or Kinshasa, in little-known rural communities, in the recent past or indeed the near future. We also think the time has come to build a new body of African writing that links writers across different times and spaces.
It's therefore the right time to ask challenging questions of African writing - where have we come from, where are we now, where are we going? Our role is to facilitate and participate in addressing these questions, as our list grows. We are still just beginning.
Good job, Cassava Republic.
1 Bookcraft Limited
A friend of mine was saying the other day that Wole Soyinka must have bought a larger percentage of Bookcraft Limited since the company publishes all of his latest titles.
BOOKCRAFT has done well for themselves and the publishing industry, providing upcoming publishing houses the necessary template. What we like about the company? If there is one thing we are eulogizing the firm for, it is their taste of quality which exudes in the packaging and presentation of all of their titles.
Established in Nigeria over twenty years ago, BOOKCRAFT has published a large number of titles in a wide variety of subjects art; biography; history; literature; politics; current affairs; for a growing market of discerning, sophisticated and well educated bibliophiles.
BOOKCRAFT has over the years established a distinctive presence in the book market, the uniquely-packaged, reader-friendly design of our books, quickly becoming an instantly recognizable trademark. Well done, BOOKCRAFT.Congratulations.
Nothing damaged sir, u I just need to sell and face other things. As for those dudes, if are a regular on this forum you will know most people are on window shopping. It's good though cos it confirms the value of the car. I have sold some cars here so I know what I'm selling
saints2: A bittered civil servant has cried out to complain against Anambra Rice which was launched by the Gov. recently as a scam and more worse than MMM. According to him, the 50kg bag of rice only has 8kg worth of rice inside.. Read his comment below.
When a government is built on deceit, blackmail and propaganda, the electorates become end victims. The scope about the abundant production of #AnambraRice backfires, as civil servants and Ndi Anambra castigates Gov Willie M Obiano led government for packaging and distributing 8kg sand & particle filled rice imported from Abakiliki in 50kg sack.
You are busy saying nothing and I am surprised that the unfounded bullshit is making front page. The rice in that bag from the quantity shown is actually 25kg as written on it. You have not shown any stone or sand as claimed. The fact that the bag is bigger than the content has no bearing on your contention. We are in recession and people are promoting little efforts to alleviate the sufferness in the country. Why do you chose to be distributing messges of calumny?
Japanesezero12: kenyans dont have a funny superiority complex as u put it...we know there are many countries in africa better than us.nigerians on the other hand are known for their enourmous egos.one of you a few pages back actually said that kenyans look like animals and tried to sound rational, even putting 'no offence' before the insult, not knowing that the ugliest people in kenya are actually you nigerians.i personally cant wait for the next mass deportation of you lot.even my uber guy has a problem with you clowns..he went on a rant yesterday about how one of your ladies took a piss in his backseat and then tried to pay him off..who does that.anyway the only reason kenyans are here is to prove the rubbish you people post here wrong otherwise we prefer international platforms where we can have civil contributions and learn.
Have you bothered to check the mainstay of Kenya's economy? It is almost 60% aid based- America and European, also other Eat African Countries. (local council budget in Nigeria alone, can pay the whole civil servants of Kenya) Union. Thats why East Africa is the worst neocolonialism victim in Africa
Kenyanstar: Please dont argue with the guy.... He will spam this thread with cheap propaganda. This thread has been devoid of this kind of crap this babycrap is trying to spoil.
A young man in my compound preparing for his WAEC Exams received a beating of his life from his mother. It was all a rowdy afternoon as on lookers were angered by the degree of injuries inflicted on the young man of about 15 years.
According to the angry single mum, who started by narrating how she had to struggle to bring him back from the US due to some issues she failed to disclose, "a private tutor, a lady was hired to coach Elkin and at a point after she had leaned to hold his hand and make some drawings which he had failed to get right, all I saw was a bulge in his groin...", she said, " I asked him immediately to stand up which he did and his down part remained bulged", she continued, " I immediately asked the teacher to excuse us", she explained amidst sobs, still threatening to "kill him..."
But the culture here is something else. I don't know what else to say.
