Hello guys like I mentioned earlier I would be visiting every African country without flying and I have resumed already. In some weeks I would be in cape town , I want to spend three weeks there and I want to rent an affordable apartment there I don't need anything fancy. Does anyone have advice for me. For more info about my journey you can check here https://thenationonlineng.net/guinness-world-record-31-year-old-nigerian-begins-tour-of-african-countries/ |
Africankel:Thanks |
Africankel:Thank you. If it was successful what would it say instead. |
Your visa application reference number: Z has been received at the South Africa Visa Application Center in Lagos from the South Africa Consulate Lagos and is ready for collection. If you opted for Courier Delivery Service, then you don't need to visit the Visa Centre as it will be delivered to the given address. Please note this is an auto generated e-mail. Please do NOT reply to this email. What does this mean please? Is it successful. Because my passport is with me Regards, VFS Global |
I applied for a visitors visa on September 19 for a visit dated December 22 and ifs still not out yet. I recently sent them a letter from some government agencies supporting my application ( after i had already applied). Who has any idea why that may be the case, visiting south africa as part of a world record tour to all african countries |
bablojnr:Its shown up now thanks |
I just paid for an appointment at VFS lagos tomorrow and i got a mail from flutter wave that it eas successful. However as the page was processing it automatically logged me out and when I tried to log back in i can see no active applications. Is that normal. Do i just wait or i try again |
Good evening house. Please is it faster to submit at Vfs abuja or lagos when submitting an application. Also My travel date is in three months. Is that an issue. |
Good morning everyone Please i want to aplly fot a south African visa since i am going by road and i want to cross from botswana or Namibia. Its part of a road trip through all mainland african countries I assume I am to submit these at the visa application center in Abuja. How long does it take to process. Am i supposed to still book an appointment afterwards online. The security guard was quite unhelpful. I would also be getting an invitation letter from the south african red cross or a similar body. I assume that should help right?

The 31-year-old, who started his tour from the Red Cross office in Lagos, would tour the continent spending an average of five days in each African state visited without using a plane. His tour would solely be executed by public transportation marking the first African to undertake such adventure. The tour, which he hopes to complete in 9 months, would make the 31-year-old the first African to tour the continent without a plane, using only the public transport system. In a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, May 8, Babalobi said funds raised from the tour would be donated to the Nigerian Red Cross, an NGO that intervenes on various fronts to assist the poor on the continent. He said the tour would also promote the Borderless African Campaign advanced by Africa’s rising non-governmental organization Read more https://thenationonlineng.net/guinness-world-record-31-year-old-nigerian-begins-tour-of-african-countries/ |
. I entered Bénin Republic through the Semé Border from Badagry. You can get to seme in different ways but since I knew the terrain I went in the most affordable way. From Mile 2 in Lagos to Seme is 5000 naira by a straight car but if you break the journey into 2 or 3 you spend only 2 or 3000 naira. You can take a bus from mile 2 to Agbara and Agbara to Badagry roundabout for about 700 and 500. From Badagry to Seme is about 600 naira but if you take pay for two seats in front it's double that money. It's been a while since I went that route so prices may vary by 100 or so. Instead I took a bike from the Red cross office at Yaba to Oyingbo for 600, then took a rickety, nearly packed up bus of the type common in Lagos to Agbara, and from there to Badagry for 500 naira . My journey Began with a Tragedy which I am just talking about for the first time . I looked up to see the moment a tricycle ran into a very young Boy, spilling his brain Nearly unto the pavement. At first one or two people in the bus thought he was still alive but as he was lifted up and the Brains fell out into the pavement, his true fate became known. The air was rent with cries of pain of sadness. If I were superstitious , I'll have ended the journey right there. I didn't though but I continued . In reality I spent two days in Badagry while trying to clear up a few outstanding issues in Nigeria, but at the end I got tired and moved on without rounding up. At badagry, I visited or rather re visited the slave museums and the First story building in Nigeria. At the border I took a car to Cotonou ( 1500 Francs) and bought some lovely street food. Pics to come P:s in Light of the current fuel scarcity, it's likely that some of the prices may have changed *What to know about Bénin* It has a vibrant Nigerian community. Yoruba is the second most spoken local language. Prices are on average twice as much as in Nigeria . To get a residence permit costs as little as about 5k or so I'm told In the past Béninoise used to smuggle Fuel and Nigerians smuggle rice . I wonder why it isn't standardized instead of allowing smugglers make money. I said in the past, because the level of smuggling activity varies based on multiple economic factors eg I'm told it became less profitable to smuggle with the rise in naira Rent is paid monthly here, data is expensive .was paying about 2k in naira for one Gb-. Merci beaucoup. I will get around to it. I've talked to one or two in the past Konquest: |
Hi Guys. New update. The journey begins April 16 from Lagos and would be covered in an interview by channels TV same day. I appreciate your support |
Hello everyone. I am trying to visit all African countries without using a plane as part of a Guinness world record . You can read more about it here. https://independent.ng/guinness-world-records-nigerian-traveler-sets-to-tour-54-african-countries-by-road-sea/ I'll need to get a South African visa and enter by their land borders eventually which is likely to be an issue. By the time I want to go to South Africa, I'll have gone to other countries like Morocco, Algeria, Kenya etc. I don't have a Schengen visa or travel history to South Africa. I also can't afford to wait til long for the visa because I am chasing a Guinness world record. My questions are 1Can I use the evisa to go to South Africa by land 2 what can I do to improve my chances of getting a South African visa. Would using an agent help. I could also submit a statement of account with over 15000 dollars in it if necessary. Would that help 3 I am raising money for the Nigerian red cross so I may be able to get help from other red cross organisations across Africa. Would that help Basically what's the best way to get a South African visa under the circumstances. Thank you |

U09ce:Thanks a lot Boss. I'm super grateful. |
KosiGee:FIRSTLY I'M STILL LOOKING FOR SPONSORS SO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP WITH THAT IS WELCOME. I APPLIED TO SO MANY PLACES BUT MOST TURNED IT DOWN. THATS A WHOLE STORY ON ITS OWN . I'll do a video or a post about it later. It's very expensive as you can imagine and im still looking for sponsors. It costs tens of millions and the recent naira drop isn't helping matters. But I've gotten one or two sponsors. Who aren't even corporate sponsors oh. Just NGOs and one or two people. Some of my friends are pitching in a small amount ( less than one million) along with a couple of wealthy people I met have said they will support. I'll also definitely be spending my own money . The total budget isn't even complete and I hope to complete it either from YouTube earnings or gofundme or other sponsorships I'll get along the way. The advantage I have is that am going by road and also some organisations/people are going to be giving me accommodation and feeding in over a dozen of those countries from West to east to central africa. I'll talk about these later Also I have been to over a dozen African countries and have made friends/contacts in some of those countries who will help out as well Even at that the total budget is still a lot and I'm still coming up with ways to do it. But I have been planning for over eight months now |
galileo180:You asked the question in a thoughtless and unintelligent manner, although there's a glimmer of a logical query lurking behind that. Firstly I can raise a lot more money for the red cross over 9 months of travel and adventure than by giving them whatever money you might think I have. Additionally, I am going by road so it's cheaper ,but I don't even have to have all the money to do it. I can raise money from sponsors ( already done that from one or two) in a way that won't be possible if I simply gave money to the red cross. I can also get goodwill from people and as a matter of fact some organisations have already promised to help me if stranded in over a dozen of those countries. That help could also include free accomodation, saving me money for some places. I can also have the adventure of a lifetime and fulfill a lifelong dream. And even raise the profile of myself or my business. And I can do something for my country all at once. I'm replying not just for you, but for others who may be wondering the same thing but are not as uncouth. |
kuntash:Understandable. I've been to over a dozen African countries myself. I know what to expect . I've also been to all the 36 states of Naija. But I follow itchy boots too |
2busy:I'll go by sea. Also you can reach E.Guinea by land too |
FireUpNow:Amen . Thank you |
Coolbreeze1988:Thank you and I've got you. I've been planning for this since May or June last year. I've done extensive research and taken all the precautions possible at the moment. I'll be fine. |
BBIA:How do the millions of people in Somalia and Libya escape getting their kidneys harvested? |
BolajiBright:Thanks brother |

Kajaard:. I'm not trying to be sarcastic but do you understand that people live in these places. Millions of people?and the majority don't get kidnapped or killed. Nigeria itself is listed as a dangerous country don't people live here |
Sonnobax15:You could start by traveling to places near you. That's how I started. |
