drakeskull: ebay keeeee, as long as i am in naija, ebay should go and ................

Purchased another item there sha but thru myus.com though. They will do the whole transaction for me
You should try it next time but not with expensive stuffs. Also only buy one thing at a time ie receive ur initial order b4 placing the next. This might help you build your feedbacks with eBay.
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 9:46pm On Jul 17, 2014
texaco1: I think what happens is that most of them using paypal on ebay from nigeria always ask the seller to ship to nigeria, this automatically raises an alarm and some unscrupulous merchants may raise an alarm so that the order can be cancelled and money forfeited. Ppl using paypal should be careful. Look out for top rated seller and try to minimise the use of the word nigeria[just kidding]. But try and gett a usa address ,and make that address ur default shipping address, don't change it when u get to check out page only. How are u bro?
I'm doing great my brother. Don't you think changing address may raise suspicions and against ebay policy?

texaco1: very very unique.let me give u an example, aviation . To get a license in ghana to operate take months but not years ,in nigeria it takes years and lots of lobbying. Secondly, most of the foreign airline opearating in nigeria wanted to shiftt their operations to ghana sometime a go ,so what they did was to charge high fares$ from nigeria to abroad or outside but charge lower in ghana for the same route all in order to divert passengers to ghana , but they were shocked that despite the exorbitant charges nigerian kept flying and didn't go to ghana, the fg intervened then if I am not mistaken. So what works in many countries may not or won't even work in nigeria. But believe me they will get It right, but till they do ppl in nigeria need to be very careful when using ebay and paypal and as much as possible they shouldn't tell the seller they are from nigeria or paying from nigeria . As much as possible always send items to an address in usa .pls this is not a law just my own personal opinion anyway
Yeah I understand your point but 9ja people should be careful to use ebay and PayPal. I only pity the early users like the op.
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 3:23pm On Jul 17, 2014
texaco1: I believe it is a business plan , we must understand thatt there is a slight difference between ebay and amazon. Amazon for now in nigeria is primarily a selling website which means ppl go there to buy but paypal offers more .the problem with paypal is they are still fashioning out a model for nigeria just like they did for kenya and india. Paypal sytem of operation in us and many other countries differ from each other. Once they have concluded the successful launch and right now I believe they are studying various complains from ppl and analysing it ,they will come up with a workable system for the nigerian market. It isn't easy and this takes time. Even western union had to devise a seperate method for the nigeria market
Well you have a good point there which means 9ja is unique wink

drakeskull: Lol.. I haven't but hope to get it soon since the payment has been reversed on my PayPal. It hasn't yet reflected on my credit card. Paypal said it might take 20 days. It took two days to get an alert from Gtb, so am hoping it won't take long
20 days Jeez. Next time if you will still want to use ebay/paypal in the future, I will advise you to first transfer funds from your mastercard to paypal. its easier this way to make quick payment or getting a refund. Goodluck
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 5:23pm On Jul 16, 2014
drakeskull: The first contact should be ebay, goto their resolution center, look for the link that deals with account suspension then you should see a call "now" button. when u click it, it will give u a unique code which u have to input when u call them or better still, call them on +18665403229. When they pick your call, the will ask for your username and the address u used in registering on ebay. Explain your ordeal to the agent and request the agent to direct you to a paypal representative. You should ensure you ask for paypal direct line from paypal rep so u can contact them directly.

Opening a dispute right from your paypal dashboard would save u stress. Just logon to paypal, click on the transaction you wanna open a dispute for, then proceed from there requesting for a cancellation from the merchant.

Cheers
You are now an expert adviser now on ebay/paypal Nigeria. Have you received your funds yet?

Nedu31: After reading some comment here, I decide to go to any nearby cyber cafe and log on to paypal site and locate their resolution box. I have similar issue with OP. After openning paypal, ebay account and linking my card to paypal account. On 5 July, I bought Android Tablet from ebay seller who based in Thailand, on 7th July, I bought 600pcs colourful rainbow rubber loom band from ebay seller who based in China, on 8th July, I bought another Android Tablet from ebay seller who based in London. From my ebay and paypal account indicate that all these items were shipped. The seller from China sent me track number. I sent a request to the first seller via ebay, to send me track number. Within some minute ebay sent me indefinite suspension message and cancellation of all my transaction. The reason they give was that my recent activity has raised serious security concern. All this while I being trying to contact them but no avail, I mail paypal but their respond is not inline to my complaint. Today mark it 6days of my ordeal.

babseg: See you are typing rubbish again and insulting people. PayPal can hold any money. i made a payment thru my paypal of over £1000 which was supposed to get to the receiver immediately. the receiver notified me that he hasnt received the payment. I asked him to wait till next day.

After like 2hrs paypal called me to ask if im aware of the fund leaving my account and i said yes that is going to Mr XYZ and they release the fund immediatly for the guy.

so stop saying paypal cant hold your money and you claimed that you hv over 10000 transactions.

drakeskull: I just got a mail from PayPal following the dispute I opened. In the mail, they said the payment has been reversed and that I should check the status in my PayPal dashboard. I checked now and the status is showing "reversed" with a note that the seller has reversed the payment. Even though it hasn't reflected on my PayPal balance nor my Gtb acct details.

Am guessing it could take time to reflect. Will keep following it up and update the thread as soon as it reflects.

Goldenboy007: A wise man once said "If you argue with an idiot, he would bring you down to his level and beat you with experience" - Young man what are you talking about? you are just arguing back and forth dancing around contradicting points. If you are not too sure about the process then admit it, stop playing on people's intelligence! what is wrong with us Nigerians!!!!!!! holy C !!!!!
I have dealt with eBay and Amazon severally and I am telling you what they told me when I had issues with them. I confirmed to a user earlier that they have exceptions to those rules, so what the heck are you still arguing about? This is why sometimes I just read on Nairaland and keep my opinion to myself because of some bunch of kids using laptops.
This kid has been saying nonsense since and he claimed that he has over 10000 positive feedback on ebay. all his comments and claims doesnt add up
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 3:32pm On Jul 15, 2014
CityNG: I guess some of you guys lack critical thinking.

My PayPal the way they treat me is not like an escrow service in the terms of holding money until goods are cleared.

Yes they whitelist financial information of course but they don't hold my money. Perhaps they hold yours. There's been at least 3 other people who have validated that they don't hold there money.
See you are typing rubbish again and insulting people. PayPal can hold any money. i made a payment thru my paypal of over £1000 which was supposed to get to the receiver immediately. the receiver notified me that he hasnt received the payment. I asked him to wait till next day.

BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 3:05pm On Jul 15, 2014
Goldenboy007: Why do people just argue without confirming their facts?

How PayPal Works.

As an online financial transaction broker, PayPal lets people send money to each other's email addresses. At no time will either party see the other's credit card or bank information.

Similar to an escrow service, PayPal acts as the middleman holder of money. Through its policies, practices, and business integrity, PayPal has earned the trust of both parties. With multiple guarantees in place, buyers and sellers entrust PayPal with their credit card and bank information. PayPal keeps that private customer information secret. Then, while "blinded" from the other party's confidential information, strangers safely send money to each other through PayPal and email.

PayPal Requirements

You need no special technology nor a business license to send/receive money through Paypal. The only requirements are:

a valid email address.
a valid credit card or bank account.
Dont mind that CityNG guy. He has been typing rubbish since and acting ITK.

Drakeskull might have a sufficient amount in his Mastercard but because he thought that he has sufficient amount doesn't quarrantee smooth transaction.

If making a payment true PayPal I advise you to hv funds in PayPal account not from your Mastercard.

Let me tell you personal experience. I sold an item in which the paid using an echeque. The buyer said he has paid but I checked my balance on PayPal but no payment yet. After two days I checked again and I saw his payment pending which I believe that he might take couple of days for his payments to be cleared. Which means his payment is hanging somewhere.

Maybe this is what is happening to the op.
drakeskull: Thank you for this. The money was transferred from my credit card to the customers paypal according to what is showing in my account overview on my paypal dashboard. Opened a dispute already and waiting for answers.

Has your account ever been flagged?

And please note I'm not misleading people. He has a Nigeria account which is red flag already. I don't know how you have been able to transact easily on eBay from Nigeria.

If you read all my comments I said ebay buyers always have upper hands but I don't know about Nigeria buyers if they will be fully protected

texaco1: good I think u are clarifying things in a simpler way for ppl to understand .thanks for this . Points number 1 and 2. Are ok. But the third point is murky and that is my question initially, what happens if this supposed trust worthy seller decides to play smart just because the buyer is from nigeria ,will ebay side the seller again because of his ratings or look at the facts?
I think I hv answered your question but if u need more clarification I will surely help
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 10:09am On Jul 15, 2014
texaco1: why will ebay support or side a seller that has collected money and yet refused to send the item? I just don't understand
You must know this that ebay support buyer more than the seller. But in the ops case I don't know because Nigeria is blacklisted plus that the ops account has been suspended more than once he may not hv an upper hand in this case.

You can never loose your money on eBay has a buyer if you open a dispute between 30 days of purchase.
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 10:02am On Jul 15, 2014
texaco1: I must confess all ebay sellers on this thread are contradicting themselves. Doesn't ebay have a definite policy about how and when they release money to the seller?whatt is ebay or paypal policy about how sellers are paid? If ebay doesn't have a definite plan and policy like amazon then that means one has to be extra cautious when dealing with them
Let me tell you about ebay policy in UK.

If you're a new seller on eBay. EBay will hold your money for 21 days. You can get ur money released to u if

1. The buyer leaves you a positive feedback

2. The buyer has received the item in 3 to 5 day in which you'll have to call ebay and give them the tracking details to show that the item has been delivered.

3 if you have proved yourself as a worthy seller ebay will be releasing ur funds as soon as the buyers pays.

If you need more clarification let me know
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 9:54am On Jul 15, 2014
drakeskull: Guys, I just took the decision to open a dispute which i just did. I'm gonna escalate the claim if the seller doesn't respond or fails to deliver by 19th or 20th. Keeping my fingers crossed. I also replied the suspension mail asking for the exact reason i was suspended and proper verification of the issue cos it seems someone out there isn't doing his / her job rightly.
I guessed you just made a mistake. You should be contacting ebay to release your fund. DO NOT ESCALATE IT YET . if u do it might favour the seller and your money is gone. Had it been your account in not Nigeria then its a good decision to open up a case.
BusinessRe: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by babseg(m): 4:56am On Jul 15, 2014
CityNG: Look at the attached screenshot again, this time I squared the area which identifies me as a seller since long before you even heard about eBay.

I take the time to sell good items, good pictures, detailed description, follow all eBay policies with proper shipping with signature verification, reserve the right to end listings, etc etc

If you list and sell just any how then you'll get into situations that you describe.

You guys with all your yang, you can ask for guidance on who to maintain 100% feedback like me and who I get paid quickly by eBay but you won't instead you prance around spouting off nonsensical data which means nothing.

How can you seriously accuse me of not being a seller when you don't even know me at all and despite the fact that I even provided you with my eBay id when you can simply log onto eBay and research to see if I am a seller or not?
Stop misleading people as if you can only open only an eBay seller account. Once you open an eBay account you can sell and buy items but ebay do advice people to open another account if you don't want to mix up your buying and selling.

You said you have an eBay business account but why r u showing us ur personal account.

From your screen shot it showed that the last time you receive a feedback on eBay was 6 month ago which means you not an active seller.

If you're an active ebay seller you should know that listing your item with 100 percent perfect item description doesn't quanrantee you of having 100 percent positive feedback. Let me tell my personal experience with ebay buyers

Case 1: I sold an item worth of 200 pounds to this buyer (note that I have been selling same item to different people without complain). This buyer received this item but claimed that the item is not working. I knew he was not doing the right or read the manual because he had to change it to his region which I can't do because we were not in the same region. So the guy concluded that he will return the item with a full refund plus the money the money he will use to post it back to me which I'm not obliged to pay with ebay policy. I received the item and I refunded him 100 percent plus his postage. The guy has nothing to loose but I lost 30 pounds to post it to him and to receive it back. Upon all this I still receive a negative feedback after making him happy.

Case 2. A buyer both 3 items from me and he requested a discount on postage which I gave him one postage for free. Unfortunately for me the guy gave me negative feedback. I contacted him for the feedback and said he was expecting me to give more discounts on the items but I didn't. I contacted ebay they said that's his opinion.

I can tell you more but my point is you are not seller. If truly you hv over 10000 feedbacks you met have met one ungrateful buyer.

It's only buyers that can keep 100 percent positive feedback because there's no way a seller can give a negative feedback one can only leave a bad comment which will still come as a positive feedback.

Did you even look at my account live to see if I was a seller or buyer before making your knee jerk reaction?

I don't incur the wrath of my business partners because I read their business policy and I don't try to circumvent them at each and every opportunity.

What is the dollar value of the trinkets and bits and bobs that you sell on eBay? Quality over quantity mate. Think about that.
Ok I will go and sit down but I can tell u r not an eBay seller. If u are with over 10000 feedbacks you must have met one ungrateful buyer who will like to get your item for free and open a case against u.

CityNG: That's rich. Look at the attached and weep.

I guess they hold yah alls account because you are not a proven seller. I get my money in 3 days because I have a verified credit card/checking account that eBay can always go in and chargeback. I also have 100% satisfied customer because I don't sell dubious merchandise to yahoo type folks.
We are talking about sellers here not buyer. You 238 positive feedback since 2002. How many items hv u sold to know the wrath of eBay policies.

I have over 1000 positive on two accounts within 2yrs. One is over 800 positive feedback as a seller.
