THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN FORMAL EDUCATION. Saw this write-up and fell totally in love with it. I bet you will too. Academic excellence is overrated! Did I just say that? Oh, yes, I said it. Being top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top of life. You could graduate as the best student in Finance but it doesn't mean you will make more money than everybody else. The best graduating Law student does not necessarily become the best lawyer. The fact is life requires more than the ability to understand a concept, memorise it and reproduce it in an exam. School rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their imagination. School rewards caution, life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules. Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones. So do I mean people shouldn't study hard in school? Oh, No I never mean it like that, its better for you to should study. But don't sacrifice every other thing on the altar of First Class. Don't limit yourself to the classroom. Do something practical. Take a leadership position. Start a business and fail. That's part of the challenges, Entrepreneurship 101. Join or start a club, Contest an election and lose, It will teach something, Pol 111, Introduction political science will not teach you. Attend a seminar. Read books outside the scope of your course. Go on missions and win a soul for eternal rewards. Do something you believe in, Think less of becoming an excellent student but think more of becoming an excellent person. Make the world your classroom. Stay calm, cool, relax and enjoy ur day |
prindu: U go fear na! Meaning what? Is it a must to facebook.I surprise ooooo |
Nobody expected such a news story this week, but it seems that Facebook will no longer be a free service. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced at a press conference in Menlo Park, California that the company is unable to keep up with the costs of Facebook and a monthly fee for users is inevitable. Zuckerberg has explained that Facebook is growing with hundreds and thousands of members signing up each day and the advertisement system Facebook currently uses is not enough to cover all the costs the social media giant needs to keep the site running. He also said that if Facebook continues to remain a free service, there is the possibility of it having to shut down because of the lack of funding. “After thinking long and hard about this decision, at the end of the day, we were forced to add this monthly fee. If we don’t do something about our rising costs now, Facebook could cease to exist in the near future.” – said Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook currently has about 1.317 billion users and if just %75 of those users start paying the $2.99 monthly fee, the yearly profit would be about $3 billion. Astounding. Reportedly, Paul Horner, Facebook spokesperson, said that there could be a way to waive the monthly fee for users who don’t have the money to pay. He said that even though Facebook would begin implementing the new user fee starting November 1st, they don’t want to lose their members just because they can’t afford to pay the monthly subscription fee. He said that users should update their status with the following statement: I AM POOR FACEBOOK PLEASE WAIVE MY MONTHLY FEE with the #FacebookMonthlyFee hashtag included. - See more at: http://yabaleftonline.com/2014/09/facebook-to-charge-2-99-monthly-fee-starting-november-must-read/#sthash.ivLGrutN.dpuf
