A newly married woman has cut off the genitals of her husband with a blade when he was asleep inside their house in Giridipalli village under Odagan block of Nayapalli district in Odisha, liveleak.com reports. Police said, the young couple had quarrelled at night, and at around 2 am the wife "Bobbitted" her husband's genitals with a blade. As the man screamed in pain and began bleeding profusely, he was rushed to the local government hospital in Nayagarh, where he was given treatment. Several persons feared dead in a bomb and gun attack at Federal College of Education, along Kabuga road area, Kano. Kano State police commissioner Adelere Shinaba told AFP the "insurgents", ran onto the grounds of the Federal College of Education after exchanging fire with police outside. "They were obviously suicide bombers. One of our officers shot at one of the gunmen and the explosives on him went off, killing him on the spot," "Another gunman was also killed. 17 people were killed by the gunmen and 34 others have been taken to hospital with injuries." |

The federal government has declared Monday, 28 and Tuesday 29 public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-fitri salah celebration. A statement issued yesterday in Abuja by the ministry of Interior on behalf of the federal government said the minister of Interior, Abba Moro, enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which he said are love, peace, justice to their daily living and through this contribute to the development of Nigeria. The Minister also enjoined all Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the holidays to reflect on the imperative of peace in nation building.
