LONDON (Reuters) - A millionaire's teenage daughter who hatched a blueprint for murder in prison was jailed for at least 20 years on Wednesday after a judge branded her a "remorseless and cold blooded killer."

Kemi Adeyoola was 17 when she stabbed her former neighbour, 85-year-old Anne Mendel, 14 times at her London home in March last year.

for shoplifting, had written an 18-page manual, detailing how she would kill elderly victims after robbing them, with the aim of making 3 million pounds from her crimes.
Unemployed Adeyoola, now 18, later told police the document was the plot for a thriller she intended to write.

Judge Richard Hone called Adeyoola intelligent and manipulative and told her she was likely to serve considerably more time for her "fiendish attack".

"It is not for me to decide whether it will ever be safe to release you," he said. "I regret to say that I have formed the view that you are a remorseless and cold blooded killer who is a serious and continuing danger to the public."

He added: "I believe that your motive was to draw attention to yourself by the act of murder.

"I think that you actually wanted to experience what it felt like to kill someone in cold blood, possibly so that you could write about it but more probably so that you could boast about it and possibly even do it again."

The teenager's father, Bola Adeyoola, who runs a property management company, said: "What she did was evil."

Mendel, described by police as a well-liked member of her community, was found covered in coats in the hallway of her home in Golders Green, north London, by her husband, Leonard, 81, when he returned from shopping.

Adeyoola and a 16-year-old girl who cannot be named for legal reasons, were also found guilty of one charge of conspiracy to pervert justice with a false alibi. The 16-year-old will be sentenced later next month.

"This was a premeditated murder which shows an unusual level of violence in a girl so young," said Detective Inspector Steve Morris of the Metropolitan Police.

"Not only did Adeyoola plan and carry out the murder of a defenceless old lady but went to extraordinary lengths to try to conceal her crime with the full compliance of a 16-year-old girl."

The prosecution said Adeyoola had chosen Mendel as a "soft target" on which to practise on before finding a "rich, elderly and defenceless" woman to kill for her money.

After stabbing Mendel to death, Adeyoola disposed of her blood-stained clothing but a tiny speck of DNA found on her victim's hand led to her conviction.
